I’d go 40 if your ever doing roads etc to get to the trails.

Should have no issues setting it up, just adjust your front mech limits?

Fell off the edge of mcmoab (near the start) down to the right towards the fire road, left dangling upside down holding a shrub to stop me dropping backwards of the ledge, thankfully a mate on the fire road ran up and held me until I was able to shuffle around and step off the ledge!!

Still got the scars, that granite rock rips you too bits!

You will need a spare axle, the 12mm have a habit of snapping depending on your maxle

I had a cat d fireblade, d is cosmetic so no issues, it had all the paperwork.

Cat c could be structural damage which I would be more worried about, and with no v5 I’d be inclined to walk away

iv just redone my home ins. with The Co-Op

Policy covers bikes up to £1000 as standard (at home)

I added the marin and valued it at £2000
    The c456 @ £1250
and added away from home cover for personal possesions, covers both bikes listed and my other bike (vitus road bike £600) also mobiles/laptops etc etc

and it cost about £65 on top of the normal policy, bikes are covered for theft and crash damage, by the looks of it the only things not covered are tyres/tubes.

hope i never need to claim but feel a bit safer knowing they are insured.

Can’t comment on the mtb’s as iv never rode 1, mate has the 140mm full sus and rates it ok (for what he paid)

Iv their budget razor road bike and its fine.

If you put the model up in the 1st post you may get more feedback?

northwind – yeah tried that, bead on the tyre is just far to loose

Not removing the core, but I just don’t think this tyre will seat no matter what I try. With 1 bead seated the other is not in contact with the rim almost anywhere so I can’t see it ever getting to the right place to take air in and keep it in.

Ordered a rear ust so that should be that sorted.

I’ll maybe try the conversion on the 6″ bike at some point, looks like dtswiss and minions arnt a total pain to set up.

Stevo – u could be right, ordering the ust xc fire for the rear, should do the job and hopefully the front stays seated in the mean time.

Like these tyres on the hardtail as they are good for most things as its gets all sort if terrain during the winter, from roads to proper sludge in 1 run!

Nope had another go there and all has failed 🙁

Tube it is for today’s ride.

Knew the front 1 was far to easy FFS

    kendo954

yeah tried the compressor in a garage

the strap could be an option as the open bead just is not in contact with the rim, if i push down on it it just lets air out at the opposite side!

soap wont help as the tyre dosnt touch the rim?

    Sorry, question is :

Is it as easy to ‘burb’ the tyres and loose air as he makes it look in his vid?

Yeah will get a trail map printed out b4 we come over, with a couple of kids we will stick in and around the trail centre but some of the local off trail stuff would be good to see 🙂

Not used to trail centres over here it’s all natural stuff.

Cheers for all the info above, will be good for an explore when we get a bit more time 🙂

Good point, will have to see what time we have after doing Dalbeattie, we have never been so may have a play on the fun bits and spend the day there, only 9 hours between boats and have to drive down and back ;o)

Usually make a long weekend off it but the ferry is £100 day return special so £25 each is dead on for a day somewhere new!!

cheers for the info, wont have time for mabie as we are only over for the day trip, if wee have a bit of time will maybe head up to kirroughtree and play on mcmoab as its enroute back to the ferry

Coming on a day trip from Belfast, not doing Kirroughtree as black Craig’s all closed, are any of the main bits in dalbettie closed, never beer but want to have a go at the main features

    Cheers for any info
