Puma is 980kg out of the box and makes 123bhp and 115ftlb's of torque

with removal of the interior, replace most of the glass for perspex, lighter wheels and removing the Ford engine and gearbox I reckon you could knock 200kg off it

The Kwak engine makes 187bhp (197bhp with ram air effect) and 113ftlb's so should work ok. Would fit a heavy duty clutch.

Quaife do a transfer gearbox with reverse that fits with Ford drive shafts so it's mainly a case of lining it all up and mounting the engine….sounds easy

If i'm going to put a ford engine back in I'll get another 1.7 (why would I put an asthmatic 1.4 in it)

The whole point is in using a bike engine is high power, high revs and light weight

I bet they hang about round there a lot or at least the surrounding area……go down with a group of mates and give them the proper kicking they so richly deserve…..even if you get the wrong bunch of lads the word will soon get round to leave mountain bikers alone

Of course maybe having victim written on your forehead didn't help

you can request to be ex-directory if required……see below sent by our IT dept

Subject: MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBER DIRECTORY SERVICE, 118800.CO.UK

A number of you might be aware that from next Monday, July 13 a new mobile telephone number directory service comes into operation, 118800.co.uk.

Details can be viewed on the BBC News website at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/working_lunch/8091621.stm

Some people might not wish to have their personal or work mobile telephone number listed within this service.

If you want to have your number(s) marked as ex-directory, you can elect to have your number removed by visiting the following web site http://www.118800.co.uk/removeme/remove.html and following the simple instructions given. Simply complete the on-line form and have your mobile with you and when you get the text with the 5 digit code, enter it straight away and you will then be advised that you have been made ex-directory.

I had a vinyl album (Psycledelic by Johnny Moped IIRC) that had 2 lead in tracks on side 1 so which track you got was dependant on where you put the stylus on……. v cool

I got stalked by a black kite last year when cycling thro’ a forest in the Vendee in France.

It was probably thinking “that fat git is gonna have a heart attack on the next hill so I’ll get some lunch”

I had a steel hardtail with a thomson post and I felt like I’d been humped by the entire coldstream guards after a long ride.

Swapped the Selle Italia Ti Flite for a Fizik Gobi (older one with Ti rails) and a Van Nicholas Ti post and it was like a new bike from a comfort perspective.

I’ve still got the post but not the frame but I’m saving it in case I get another hardtail

Do not go to Bedford via junction 13. Road widening going into Bedford makes it a **** nightmare.

If you must go to bedford then do it on the A422

I live in MK and have to go to our office in Newcastle fairly regularly. I normally do it from about 6.30 in the morning and just do the M1 to Leeds and then the A1. Normally takes about 4 hours.

Could potentially be very shite at 5.30 but may be ok (same could be said about any motorway journey on a Friday evening tho.

Most of the French A roads are deserted during the day and a lot are dual carriageways.

Take a couple of days to do the drive and stay somewhere nice on the way down

Stripped the brakes ….cleaned the calipers with brake cleaner and made sure the pistons moved freely and evenly

cleaned the pads with brake cleaner and baked them

Copper greased the edges & back of the pads and the retaining bolt

    Sanded the discs again

A quick blast round the block had no squealing but time will tell on a longer ride….if this doesn’t work then resin/organic pads are the next thing to try
