Awesome, cheap, lots of colours and much better than Race Face Chester’s IMO, crap name though.

Hi pampmyride, forge197 & Alex – all your bikes look like small ones, correct me if I’m wrong. How tall are you guys ? I have a MK1 Solaris in medium with a 70mm stem and would like to increase the size of tyres I can run, I’m 5’8″ and enjoy my current frame & stem. size. My issue is I’m not sure a new medium would be a good fit.

Not sure you would call the freehub body and spindle, part of the frame, but I take your point. I’m just happy with a good level of service.

Yes, me too. It now means I can stumble down stuff with a bunch of folk who are far better than me, rather than being in my comfort zone on my own. Result.

One more for the Cotic, but I’ve no experience with the Sherpa. I run my 135qr Solaris with either 29er wheels or B+ wheels depending on where I’m going to ride, what the weather’s like, what wheels are on the bike just now. Changing the wheels means you have 2 quite different bikes, but I’m sure the wheel changes on the Stanton would mean the same.

Is this the same Bikeradar that had an article not long ago that stated that 27.5+ tyres were actually faster than 29er tyres on the same bike over a bunch of different trails.
Hey ho, ride what you’ve got and my Solaris with fat tyres looks like a monster truck and everybody loves monster trucks.

I had a Trail King 2.2 in the back for a while, they are big for a 2.2 especially on the 30mm rims, it was slightly wider than the original across the carcass, not the tread. That and the original 2.3 Ground Control are as big as I would go, not much mud room left. The Ground Control is a better tyre than the Trail King (Black Chilli) for where I ride, in my opinion.

Awesome ending, for The Bridge that goes down as happy and upbeat. Excellent telly.

I had something similar and it took six sessions, each a month apart, for them to be totally removed, cost around 200 quid, worth every penny. It started to fade after the first session. I now don’t sit at meetings and social events with my hand covered and have to make covering statements about being 13 and stupid, etc..
Get it done, make an appointment now.

Just back from SierraMTB in Fuengirola, lots of trail variety, good accommodation, lots of decent restaurants locally. Fly in to Malaga and a 20 minute transfer and you’re there.

Endura and don’t think of them as being particularly British

Not particularly British, really. A company that was founded by a Brit and has remained with a production facility in Britain for over 20 years.

AlexSimon – Exactly how do you define British ?

I had a Reba on my Camber do a very similar thing, it was sent back under warranty, they rebuilt it and it was fine, actually it was much better. Nothing was found, they just replaced all the seals on the air leg. Even so they still replaced the fork with a new one, they didn’t have any in stock at the time – which is why they re-built it. Replacement one has been excellent. If I was you I’d send it back, I know it’s a hassle, but it’s a new fork and the warranty clock should start from zero again.

Just got mine done by Flotec in Dunkeld, 65 quid. I dropped them off at Elevation Cycles in Linlithgow and picked them up from there a week later. Job done, no fuss, easy. I believe they do a courier style pick up like TFT.

Don’t do it. I spent 20 years on differing forms of SPDs, with unsuccessful spells of time on flats. I’ve now mastered flats and the only downside is that my shoes take longer to dry. I haven’t disappeared backwards in my group, due to a lack of efficiency, I haven’t missed those times that your pedals are so full of crud/mud/snow/ice that you can’t clip in, I haven’t missed being accidentally trapped in your pedal due to a badly worn or damaged cleat and I haven’t missed those unco-ordinated days when you just can’t get your foot clipped in, especially in slow speed techy stuff.
    So, don’t do it.

I run my Camber Evo tubeless with a Conti Trail King 2.2 up front and a Mountain King 2 on the back at 20 & 25psi respectively. I’m about 80kg and ride lots of rooty, loamy stuff, I put 2 or so more in each for trail centre stuff. Hope that helps.

    Hi teamhurtmore

I’ve got the aluminium one and the Command Post isn’t a stealth one. You can’t fit a stealth to mine without drilling the frame, it runs internally along the top tube but loops round beside the shock. It’s not intrusive, hasn’t marked the frame and doesn’t rub against anything.

Excellent, I didn’t get on with the original tyres and replaced them with a Conti Trail King on the front and a Mountain King on the rear, works for me, but as usual tyres are a bit of a personal choice. I got a Command Post fitted when I bought it and that works a treat for me.
MBR reviews are pretty much on the button, I also fitted a couple of bottomless tokens to the fork which help on gnarly stuff.
I’ve had it for 3 months and I’m really impressed, looks great in the Hyper Yellow colour for 2015.

To give some balance – I haven’t ridden a Swift, but I do own a ff29 and run it 2 x 10 with a SID 120mm fork. I find it flatteringly fast and very forgiving for an aluminium frame – it feels almost as compliant as most of the steel frames I’ve owned.
I’d have thought that if you’re going to race it the ff29 would be more suitable, whereas if you wanted a sometime singlespeed, sometime rigid mtb then the Singular would be the one.

    Have fun choosing.

Good point, they’re 2015 Reba SCs as supplied on a 2015 Specialized Camber Evo and I believe that they don’t have any tokens in them from new.

Had my first ride on my new Camber Evo at a very snowy Glentress today, it’s an absolutely stonking bike, confidence inspiring, good climber and it looks fantastic. Got mine fitted with a command post and the routing is a bit crappy, but better than a standard add-on one without any internal routing. Get one it’s a whole lot of bike for the cash, by the way I’m 5’8″ and the medium is bang on, size wise.

    Hi

I bought Paceman’s fully rigid and I’m loving it, it was my first 29er and now I’m a complete convert. Quite a high front end with the rigid forks, but ok if you flip the stem. Not experimented with 29+ yet, but it’s always an option.

    Specialised Camber Expert – stolen

    Cannondale Synapse – still got

OMG – 13 bikes in 26 years, that’s only one every 2 years – that don’t sound too bad. 5 new, 3 C2W and the rest bought second hand.

    I think that’s acceptable.

Fitting a 17″ wheel won’t screw up the handling, a million super motards can’t be wrong, and if you want to sharpen up the handling more you can then drop the forks in the yokes to suit.
I’d be more concerned at the front tyre size, i.e. select a suitable tyre profile to match the rear (check out road going bikes with a similar rear wheel size), get the right rim to fit that tyre and then make sure it fits between the forks at it’s widest point.
Do not fit tyres that look like the ones in the picture, that will definitely screw up the handling.
Depending on how much you steepen the head angle, you might need to experiment with preload or grades and quantity of fork oil to stop the front end diving too much under braking.
    Nice project, enjoy.
ps You will loose money on it, good condition Dommies are getting rare and most customs don’t go for as much as originals.

Angels is “good”, better than any of the YouTube freebies. 60 minutes of it seemed much shorter than 45 minutes of the YouTube ones.
