If you think the Seamaster box is over the top, you should see the size of my Moonwatch box and it’s ridiculous paperweight thing 😂😂

A fantastic choice mate.  Seems to be a very popular watch around here!  You won’t be disappointed with it

I’d buy on a bracelet and get the rubber later.  You should defo buy one though. They are lovely watches

Mind you the GMT I bought instead only lasted a year before I got sick of the enormous height of the thing and sold it

I like the snowflake hands. They are very “Tudor”.  The fact the new Black Bay has dropped the snowflake on the second hand for a lollipop, whilst retaining the snowflake hour is all sorts of F’ed up in my eyes.  Now three hands in three different styles.  I wouldn’t buy another now.

ah re text text on Pelagos, yes absolutely right.  I think the 39 has cut some text off though

I like a Pelagos.  Nearly bought one a few years back but bought the GMT Black Bay instead.  What do you dislike so much about it?

It certainly is.  I nearly bought the black one but the white is really quite something in the flesh.  Plus it’s easier to read 😂😂

IMO Seamaster’s should have a wave dial, it’s as much part of the design as the five link bracelet.  The plain faced ones just don’t work for me.  I wish I’d kept my old Goldeneye as well now, but it went to fund the new one

@scapegoat the Zealande ones are supposed to be good.  I have the factory rubber and deployant on my white ceramic one and it’s lovely but you’ll pay big bucks for it.  Very rarely wear it on the bracelet

Top one.  I like Breitling but can’t deal with the massive contrasting chapter ring on the bottom one

Markings will be on the inside of the caseback.  Get it off and have a look

Love those classic Propilot’s.  Not so keen on the newer ones though

I’ve just tested positive for it, but my work doesn’t know what the policy about it is anymore.  Common sense says I shouldn’t go in, but when they say to you “why did you take a test?”, it makes you think they don’t care about it anymore

I like the yellow Luminox, have a thing for yellow watches at the moment.  Keep looking at that Tissot Sideral but it’s a lot of money for a “fun” watch

Love those Ginza Alpinists.  Wouldn’t pay what they’re going for now though so will just have to continue admiring

I paid £350 as  unused 2nd hand in packaging.  Yeah £500 retail. I got my Seamaster rubber deployant for cost when I bought the watch. That was £210

Speedy now has proper Omega leather and deployant.  Not cheap and not worth the money I paid either but nice not to be on the bracelet.  Plus I must have spent about £100 on cheap straps that were no good 😂

I missing box would bother me if they hadn’t mentioned it.  Had similar with CW once.   Bought one of the brown dialled Super Compressor’s in the sale as “nearly new” meaning it was a return.

They failed to mention in the description it was one of the ones with the misprinted dial so the text wasn’t centred.  Would never have bought it if they’d said so in the description.   That was one of the 4 different CW watches I sent back.

A mate at work bought the limited edition Abyss.  They took the money from his account, and then fobbed him off about dispatch for a fortnight, before refunding the money with no explanation.

    Not great customer service…

Mellor case W10’s are 35mm excluding crown and 42mm lug to lug.   All my watches are 40-42.

However, I really like them as they are historically interesting, easy to date to the correct year, and reasonably priced.  Plus I don’t think many watches in the 70’s were much bigger

I like what CW does, but I’ve bought 4 of them and sent them all back for a refund which says something to me…

With regards to birth years watches, I love the idea of one.   Keep looking at CWC W10’s from 1976 but they’re so small in the case, I’m not sure I’d actually wear it.   This one’s on my eBay watch list though

Does it have to be a Venu?   I replaced a Fenix with a Venu 2+ and although the screen was nice, it wasn’t nearly as good as the Fenix.   Got rid of it very quickly

Or don’t buy a watch thinking it’ll hold onto its money, buy it because you like it

@igm the controversial “double wristing”  😂

Tried it once, but just couldn’t live with it

Re Black Bays, I’ve no issue with the snowflakes and the dot indices.    However, the new ones which have a lollypop seconds hand whilst retaining the snowflake hour really bothers me to the point I couldn’t buy one

The Breguet on the other hand is a lovely thing

I have a petrol auto CRV and I’m pretty happy with it.  Not great on the fuel economy mind you but will average 32 on a motorway run.

no turbos, no particulate filters and no dual mass flywheels means I don’t miss my old diesel S-Max.  ULEZ compliant too even though the tax is double what the non-ULEZ diesel was

CW Sellors/Jurawatches are legit.  Bought from them before with no issues.

You won’t find it because it isn’t a good news story so I ’ll tell you what was made to the drivers.

    4% backdated 2022 + 4% 2023

in return I have to give up some allowance of sick pay and annual leave, which won’t be accepted.

That was the second offer.  The first was all the above, plus the union cannot have any further input into pay reviews or terms and conditions

Basically they are making offers they know will be refused, so they can turn round and say we are greedy.  Oh and certainly every driver at the TOC I work for doesn’t earn what papers say we earn.  I earned more as a Police Officer

    Nice Chipps!

I like the Coulson Oris too, saw one in the flesh recently but didn’t try it on, it’s lovely though
