I really like my Urge Archi-Deltar lightweight FF. It’s pretty basic (no ratchet for fit, or rotational protection gubbins), but comfy, light & cheap. I tried about 5 others on including the TLD, Fox etc equivalents and this fitted best.

I got mine for £80 but a quick search suggests not many places have stock at that price now.

I’d be going to a tax accountant that has experience in probate.

You will also want to understand implications of this should your Mum need care from the Council:

Too much cloud here and missed May’s show despite being in the perfect location.

Hopefully get another good opportunity before having to wait a decade.

Standing seam roofing? Suitable for low pitch angles and you can get coated steel or alu versions which are significantly more affordable than zinc.

If budget conscious then it’d be hard to beat the options above.

I really enjoyed it but agree with lots of reviews that the last 15mins could do with a re-write or mostly adding to the virtual cutting room floor.

I think one of the major barriers to cycling is secure bike storage / lack of crime prevention in the centres. Better routes will help, but only if people can leave their bikes securely at the other end.

e-scooters are a more likely answer to getting people out of cars though, and easier to take on trains, store at work etc

I’ve never bought from Japan but seen plenty of good feedback from others. Think you’ll pay VAT and import duty so check that out first.

If you’ve got access to TZ Forums, there’s a 2254.50 on at the moment for £2600. I was tempted but would prefer the quartz version.

Just want to know the pitfalls, any model or year I should avoid? Serviced a deal breaker? Papers and box, does it matter? Not buying to retain value, but to use. Cheapest I have seen is £1,400, most I would probably spend is £3k. Any help greatly appreciated.

What versions are you looking at? There quite a variety in that price range from the 90s Bonds to Peter Blake’s onwards.

If it’s not to sell on then I don’t think B&Ps are required and you should pay less as a result. Condition wise these 90s/00s models should but in excellent condition in the 2-3k range including the bracelet.

I’m looking at a Peter Blake and expect to pay between 1.8-2.5k with B&P privately depending on the version.

You should be able to use a file reader on Windows if you don’t have access to a Mac.

If it’s more recent it will be APFS file system, but I’m not sure if there’s any decent free reader software.

Older ones use HFS+ which there used to be a few good free readers for.

I’ve done this before for photos & vids.

2 nils this month, and 2 in a row for me which is a big drop off in the last 2 months compared to the last year.

I’ve had midge bites on my calves that lead to severely swollen feet – similar to you this was an escalation!

I needed antibiotics & higher dosage of antihistamines. Definitely seek medical advice, mine had started to track as an infection of some sort.

I now take antihistamines as soon as I am bitten, at recommended dosage until the bites are healing. This seems to have prevented a repeat of the severe swelling, though I occasionally still get minor inflammation.

They need to get rid of the storage and stick another set of bottle bosses in that location. That plus a small bottle on the top tube would be enough.

No doubt a bit easier to make as well as looking much nicer. I think the Stage 6 etc without the storage look great in the flesh. Pictures never do them justice. And they are great fun to ride, though the newer ones are too long for my liking.

If the seats fold then there will be more than enough room for what you describe.

I’ve got a Honda Stepwagon (which is smaller, the same as a Nissan Serena) and that easily fits 3ppl, 3 bikes (front wheels off) and loads of kit in.

The Stepwagon RK series onwards have 3rd row seats that fold into the floor creating a completely flat load base and giving plenty of height

Also poor fuel economy, but probably not quite Elgrand bad. Parts availability isn’t the best, even though most of the engine is the same as fundic Honda’s there are odd differences like the starter motor. Plenty of them now that a few online places stock common bits though.

    All round it’s great.

Prefer wearing knobbly rubber astro boots to moulded as 1) I find I roll my ankle easier in moulded

I find the opposite. Astros get caught up more and are less predictable so I was rolling my ankle too often. I moved to them because I thought the lower height would help.

Citizen Tsuyosa? Integrated bracelet style, colourful dials, solid brand.

If he’s favouring the cocktail time then he wants something on the dressier side. There’s lots of good microbrands in that space e.g. Baltic HMS,

    As ever,

If you have to start a thread on STW asking “is this a scam?” the answer is “yes.”

Whilst generally I’d agree, I had one a while back that made me ask but turned out it wasn’t.

Guy wanted to buy something, agreed a price, then they wanted to pay by cheque.

Bounced cheque liely I thought but seemed genuine. I agreed but said I’d delay postage until X days after (whatever they say is the time to properly clear, not just show in the account).

Anyway a few days later, a cheque with a nice handwritten note appears and all went very smoothly.

Not really a lesson there other than protect yourself with the process, but don’t assume unusual requests are always a scam.

Should have bought a scratch card

That would be an interesting experiment for a few months, or using half the premium bonds winnings to buy a load of scratch cards and see if you end up up / down / evens over 6 months.

Echo most of the comments above having been just the once. It’s a nice experience even down to the bag drop off to your accommodation from the pier.

Biggest thing (which we were advised of before going) is to book tables where you want to eat – Many will be booked up days if not weeks in advance. We always found somewhere when we hadn’t booked, but a few times it had to be a takeaway on the seafront. That wasn’t even during school holidays.

Authentic Curries & World Foods do 3 which are all better than any of the own brand ones I’ve tried.

Not sure if they are only available in Wales though based on the branding…

People running Bontrager and Kenda tyres. Why?

Because I’ve tried tyres from pretty much every brand selling widely in the UK and the Hellkat has the best combination of carcass weight / damping / durability, and grippy / durable rubber of any I’ve tried as a front for all year round use.

I also really rated the Bonty SE5 I had as a rear but there’s more competition now than there was then.

Kenda Hellkat Enduro F / Conti Kryptotal Enduro R

Used to swap to a Hillbilly for winter but the Hellkat is better for wet roots & rocks, and decent enough in mud to not bother.

Thanks john – Slipstones was one of those I’d found but online information for a lot of Bouldering is a bit poor.

Is it the sort of place we could turn up and eye up routes or do I need to get one of the guides?

Edit: Thanks for the others as well – I’ll take a look.

Heading up to the Yorkshire Dales (near Bainbridge) next month. Are there any good beginner – intermediate bouldering spots people would recommend?

We’ll be a mix of V2-V6 indoor boulderers but no experience on gritstone so the more lower grades the better.

Is silo based on wool/dust etc?

Yeah, only 1 series so far and that’s maybe half of Wool.

I’ve had a few rides on mine after moving from an MRP Ribbon Coil. So far so good, they are very supple in the first half of the travel which does make them ramp more than I am used to. I added a fair amount of compression damping after the first ride having started nearly open.

I liked my MRPs but the compression damping was just too high off the top, even though I ran it fully open. This was tried with both light & med springs (which made little difference). They were great on fast rocky sections as they never packed down, but didn’t give the carpet ride like benefits that coils can on other stuff.

Before that I had Marz 350 NCR Ti coils and I’d say the Selva’s are definitely the most supple of the 3. The adjustability on offer is a big bonus, and will mean I am able to set them up in a way neither of the others could be without custom tuning.

Burgtec got it right with their Kash Bronze as others have noted.

At least this is a PSA to buy in first and check the colours before getting things built up!

On offer too for £40 at the minute and I like the styling (and the loamranger review is decent). Ordered a pair (and some cheap riding socks!).

Exactly the same order as me. Both the glasses & socks seem very good for the money.

Nice fit under my helmet, good eye coverage with a reasonable wrap around the face. Distortion not noticeable in my quick try on but I’ll need to try them on the bike to be sure.

I fixed a load of 2 slot to the wall and cut 18mm ply for the shelves.

Super heavy stuff sits on the floor but the shelves take a good bit of weight as well.

It’s meant I can be flexible with the number & spacing of the shelves, and can change that fairly easily as needed.

As a non- expert I was taught External = Mitre / Internal = Scribe

But the starting point for a scribe is a mitre, then back cut. That video shows it well and it’s more straight forward than other ways I’ve seen it explained or other methods for doing it.

Any joints in long runs should also be mitred.

You can do it ok with just pencil markings top, front & back. The better your sawing technique, the better the fit! This also makes it easier to accommodate non-45 degree angles.

I think it might have actually been the GMT One which I’ve seen as I can’t spot a Traveller with the right sort of dial colours.

they did check their passport – their passport was in date. It was more than ten years old but hasn’t expired.

In date but not valid as is made absolutely clear on the GOV travel website which is the same sire that tells you how many months you need left on it as well.

Any recommendations for an adaptor for the Lezyne?

I’ve got a hand pump of theirs which is a great pump but the valve attachment is shocking. It consistently manages to undo valve cores unless you happen to have someone else about to hold the thing in place without tightening it properly!

When I looked at this it was suggested to add an air brick in the attic (assuming it is a vented space) and fill with loose fill insulation below that line.

The principle being that any moisture still getting in at the top despite the cap is wicked away by the airflow through the attic.

I just installed a Chimney Sheep in the end.

Looks good but I’d still want a bottle mount. Surely something like the YT custom fidlock bottle could fit?!
