I got some of the £12.99 lights last year. Thought they were great and scoured the local stores for more.

In the mean time however we’ve found that the brackets are made of cheese and not sure I’d bother again!

I’ll have a look though and see if they’ve improved….

I’ve had some gear cable bulbs get stuck in the counterbore in the lever – check this out before you fit the cable for real otherwise it can get properly stuck.

Tubelessness is not a matter of faith. It’s evidence based.

    2 pieces = 1 link.

    Therefore 1 link x 2 = 2 links.

IMO the seller is being deliberately dishonest and I’d applaud any attempts to annoy him/her and make life difficult.

Hmm, I’ve not struggled with tyres for a while. There’s a big dig/flat spot in my Flow Mk3’s that make putting any tyre on there a pain, but I really should replace that rim.

External windscreen covers are also wet after a night’s rain or condensation!

Do it and sell if it doesn’t fit. You can always change to a lower profile saddle or chop a few mm off the seat tube.

    Or platform shoes.

    Moar drops is always betterer.

/edit – PJay, I assume that OP is concerned that his post might not fit in the frame, leaving his pedalling position too high.

While riding, had one go down in to my jersey and ..

when I got to work there was one in my cup of morning tea (we’d all stop for toast outside).

I do like the look of that one as I regularly transport my bike in the back of the car, so not sure about the long ones…any advice please??

OP here,. I bought a Rockguardz (I think the PG450) and it’s been great.

I drilled out the holes in to slots and use it with some double sided velcro so that I can remove the mudguard and swap it between bikes (also so that I can transport it in the car, lying on its side, with the forks face down).

However we realised the bike does fit in to the car upside down, which means I don’t have to take the mudguard off at all any more anyway.

The Atlantic hurricane season is a time when most tropical cyclones are expected to develop across the northern Atlantic Ocean. It is currently defined as the time frame from June 1 through November 30, though in the past the season was defined as a shorter time frame.

Yes, but didn’t know it was NC2WD either. If it was still raining hard I’d have jumped in the van.

On a related note, I used to have a colleague who cycled to work once… on census day 😀 🙄

but if i do the 2-3km to the station i’ll shower beforehand and then get dressed for work – the main question was this – if i do this and then do the 2-3kms and its pouring i get soaked!

for this plan, you can have some cheap waterproofs to go over your work clothes and ride gently so you don’t get sweaty. you’ll need to change shoes or get some good overshoes though.

Not had it with other tyre brands.

round ‘ere it’s mostly Continentals that go pear shaped.

RADR cage here, works rally well – ESPECIALLY when the chain is more worn and therefore flexible. I had to go back to a normal cage for a while and the shifting was poor through the smaller sprockets.

I’m not joining in the “I’ve flown longer flights that yao” but I’d much rather stay on a plane than have to disembark, fanny around, get back on and get going again any day. Without doing calcs it must save a fair amount of fuel (and time!!) even though you have to fly with that additional fuel to start with.

I’m equally sure that other would prefer to get off and fanny around instead though 😉

So we’re less than a week away, weather looks, iffy in the run up but might be ok for the weekend 😆

I might also end up racing blind thanks to work, but we’ll see!

    Victim blaming eh?

    😆

    Hope you’re being sarcastic.

Might as well leave a tenner on the ground and expect no one to nick it.

That said, when Mrs North bought me the large iPad pro for my 40th birthday last year (cost her c£1k), I didn’t want her to have wasted her money so made her take it back for a refund.

Just out of curiosity, why didn’t you want one?

And didn’t you notice the custom engraved message on the back? 😉

    Charity shops.

I was doubtful that my crap is worth anything to charity shops, but I signed up to Gift Aid a bunch of donations once. BHF made £86 from my tat. £86!!

I saw an info graphic t’other day about the amount of sunlight received by the USA vs europe…. might explain the amount of un-photogenic flat light from overcast days we get in the UK

When I was an XC whippet, I enjoyed the cross-border route.

    Now I’m not, I don’t 😆

You need to compare it to what you want to ride and how you want to ride it.

That means calculating the gear ratio in whatever terms you choose (development or gear inches) to calculate if you’ll get what you want, based on what you currently have.

If you want someone to calculate it for you, they’ll need more information! 😛

To reiterate some points already made…

    – Definitely not worth driving to Newcastleton instead

    – The trail around the lake is wide and smooth (though not flat).

    – What NW said about the Deadwater fell trails. Must be a decent loop to do the red and black descents.

    – There must be some fun off-piste stuff around too, NHD have run some funduros there in the last few years.

I don’t want to kill them

Well do you want your work covered in slug slime of not? Just kill them, unless you’re determined to collect them and feed them to the birds/frogs.

    M&S FTW.

Thin ish cotton. Last a few years. Get a bit less soft feeling but I’ve never worn any through. I bought 2 packs a few years back, now on my second cycle.

Dusk is one of the worst times on the road

    QFT.

At dusk and in low sun I have my many lights on; bright and flashing, no pissing around with mini get-me-home lights….

remember, you’re up against the worst of the drivers Britain has, tired and on their way home and with the sun in their eyes.

Probably a slightly shorter travel bike than I have now. Or maybe longer.

Right now, I have a trail bike (enduro weapon, gnarpoon, mince tank) that in the last two years I have
    -ridden DH
    -ridden to work
    -raced 100 km XC
    -raced enduro
with nothing more than changing tyres and very occasionally pedals.

If my soul was shallow and devoid of life I’d even ride some CX on it.

I’d rather quit commuting and road riding entirely than have a CX or road bike be my only bike.

We have an older Samsung smart TV. The iPlayer app still works but it’s slow. Not ITV player, no Red Bull Player.

Yours will end up this way too 😈

Q- I was going to buy a recording type box to do both updated smart TV functionality and live TV recording (just so I can do basic stuff, like rewind live TV and do a series record of the TdF).

Is there anything worth knowing (for a numpty like me)? I have a chromecast, it barely ever worked on our home network.

I would take a link out without deviation. If not sufficient, I would take a link out with repetition.

For gear ratios you might do well with a gear calculator to get it right.

FWIW my commuter uses 42 front and 19 on the back. I spin out on a good road downhill but I can tow the trailer up a slight slope without having to honk.

I had an issue with the Danfoss PCB (control module) so have trawled the web for manuals and troubleshooting guides, email me and I’ll get back to you over the weekend.

For starters, the red LED should be flashing an error code at you. Between one and five flashes separated by a longer pause.

For repair centres, check the Waeco/Dometic website- they list dealers and service centres.

Back when my rims were narrow I struggled to get a good seal between the valve stem and the rim bed. Blu-tack worked a treat. Also considered some silicone seal.

In your case I’d first suspect a leak in the tape somewhere.
