I always look at the number of flights around my departure time.

5 flights in the hour before mine and none in the hour after? Chill out and cut it a bit finer (maybe 1h15 for an internal flight with no stuff). By the time I allow for travel to the airport with an additional buffer it’s more like 1h30.

Lots of flights before and after, busy airport and travelling with bikes? Be there 3 hrs+ before departure.

In your situation, I’d look at whether the airport is going to b busy for flights following yours and anticipate the queues through security that they will generate and how they will impact your processing.

The soles on ok for walking in but the stealth rubber layer peels off after a year or two. You’ll have to stick it back on with freesole or shoe glu.

Stoner, I’ve been looking for similar for my van, I might give that a try (though I’ll look in to the longevity of it first). Reckoin a hair dryer would achieve the same? Or should I invest in something butane powered and burny?

On a related note have you read Randall Munroe’s problem about the hairdryers in the box and their heat loss?

Just gotta say – it’s not slopestyle. It’s freeride. It’s really not about the best tricks. Remind yourself of the judging criteria (I had to after protesting that McGazza was robbed).

I think that if you have entered multiple events they’ll cancel your entry and reallocate tickets.

If you had lots of old kit you wanted to use on the new frame, there would be some possible advantage to staying with 135 QR. For a new bike that would be your one and only, there would be no downside to 148 (aka Boost).

More info needed if you want a solid recommendation.

Follow UPLIFT SCOTLAND on Facebook, who are the current/ex operator. they seem to think that the tender should have been awarded yesterday/today but don’t know who to.

Sorry if you already know this much.

    Or one of these!

Northwind has a properly big one, I’d make one of those if I had the space. My little orange one is the size of an airshot. I put 120 psi in before hitting discharge and that’s generally not quite eno

I’m loving all these bright red fire extinguishers, which are going to give someone a surprise in the event of a fire 😆 🙄

I see Milky is going to stiker-coat his, good plan.

I don’t think a rotor like you’re describing should have ANY play in them. They’re not trying to float like a Hope rotor, it should be a solid mechanical join.

If you want something appropriate for a honeymoon and in Central Lakes, have a look at Brimstone, also in Elterwater.

We stayed there, also with muddy boots and bikes in the back of the car/van.

I’ve alos B&B’d at Howe Keld in Keswick, which the Mrs still recalls fondly. Get a big room if you need space for kit and the car park especially isn’t so secluded if you’d worry about bikes.

IIRC automatic Jazz’s have a premium because they’re ideal older person’s cars (FWIW we love our manual Mk 1 Jazz).

I had ’03 plate a Yaris and it never let us down. My little brother has it now.

Is this an opportunity to try something electric?

Blackboard door, or some other feature

Yep, the top one is definitely going to be turned in to a blackboard – it currently has NZ North and South island map blackboards but I want to do the whole thing.

I could nearly cut the top door down to make the new one.. could try doing the bottom one from a plain sheet of MDF and figure out how to do a decent job of the hinge bore details…

Bikes on a rack and poptop FTW. Don’t be so precious about having bikes inside, stick some proper locks round them and you’ll be fine.

You’ll want the standing space to get changed and make the inside a living area for the odd day when it’s wet 😉

I got one put in my bathroom last year:

    – fluid filled towel rail as a part of the central heating system. CH comes on, towel rail gets warm.

    – electric element added

    – electric controller added. This allows me to set a program (24h/7 day programs are available) but I only really use it to do a 1 hour boost, to get towels dry if I know the CH isn’t going to come on.

    – a towel rail isn’t as good at putting heat in to the room than a proper radiator, so you may need a bigger towel rail than you have radiator.

    – a bigger towel rail can dry more towels…

the chain can still skip when really pressing uphill from a standstill

I think you already know that the answer is to replace the drivetrain, you tight get! 😀

IME (Admiral) out LCB lapsed after we were abroad for more three years, I think two was the cutoff.

Admiral gave my Mrs. a complementary 1 years NCB to get us started again as we re-joined with them.

You’ll struggle to park a car near the city centre though. Ring road + bus/taxi for that.

    DRL’s

It’s mind boggling why someone would need front DRLs and not rear.

If you want to win the indicator/no indicator game, just sit by a roundabout. Nearly no one knows how to go round a roundabout properly.

Silky Big Boy. Not cheap but we got one for my BIL and he was a very happy boy afterwards.

Needs a proper size pack to fit in though, check the length.

Anyone got a link to which trails they are using this weekend?

I think PMBA normally don’t tell you until the day before or sign-on for practice.

Is it just the Grizedale stuff or are they doing some Graythwaite as well?

Not racing this time, but should be a cracker (though slippy 😆 )

I have an old pair (not freeriders) I wear off the bike.

The soles when clean are very grippy. I have a cheap rug I use as a mat coming out form the man cave and it sticks to the shoes 👿

They also leave marks on hard floors!

I have a pair of freeriders I wore as casual shoes when out travelling and I wore through the sole underneath the big toe quite quickly.

I got my Mrs a Scott Sub-Speed 10. We both love it. No mess, no oil, nearly no maintenance. I’ve only had to pump the tyres up, sometimes she does that herself!

My commuter in comparison has a wax coated chain (coming up to 8 months since it was done), and cable discs which need occasional adjusting. If you put a chain guard on mine, they’d be nearly as good as each other.

    No, you have correct parts.

See the front brake, the bolts go all the way through in to the legs. To get the position they want, the caliper is no longer straight respective to these bolts. You can see that the cup & cone washers are required as the bolt head would not sit flush on the caliper.

On the rear brake, there are bolts holding the adaptor on and bolts holding the caliper on to the adaptor. Everything can be made nice and straight without needing cup & cone washers.

last years version and that can do different speeds of strobe

Does it? Mine only does steady (3 light levels) and flash (3 light levels). You double press to switch between steady and flashing.

This years seems similar but has steady (4 light levels) flash (3 levels) and strobe.

    Not long now 😀

Has anyone seen what the deal is going to be with start times? I’m not sure if I missed anything from the info pack, or if it’s going to be be a matter of choosing your own start time when you sign on.
