Love My Camelbak Havoc. FF carry and loads of room/straps for pads if you like taking them all off.

Less syrup and more sugar should solidify more? Also less butter?

It may have been that the SN wasn’t stamped at the factory at the right point so they stripped the paint and stamped it, forgetting to paint over it.

If you have paint and can make it good then that would be the simplest option.

I know you want to understand who and why, so that you have confidence buying again, but it’s a bit of a weird one.

You might feel like it’s a bit crap, but as others have said, the decision is what do you want, is it still acceptable? You may or may not get more of a discount off Wiggle but if it was £25 less and the defect was pointed out, would you have still bought it? If you return it, are you going to get as good a deal elsewhere?

FWIW, I’d paint over it, helitape it (the BB and downtube get a battering from stones!, my BB chipped though the paint all over before I helitaped it) and get riding. Life is too short to chase the pennies sometimes.

    and welcome to the forum!

I thought I was going to be funny by saying “maintenance” but I was beaten to it by over 2 hours and I’m not even that good at it.

I did once win a 12 hour XC race, although it was a small field, so I’d have to say that. Not true any longer – I don’d have so much time to ride enough any more!

My Jazz is Mk 1 but when it dies (if ever) we’ll replace it with a newer one. I’ve often said its the perfect car for us, just missing 4wd and a turbo.

It’s a small car but you can fit loads in, we have had weekends away with 2 bikes, a baby and the paraphernalia, all inside.

I can’t help but think you’re going over the top too quickly. Let the moody bugger grow a hedge on his land. So what if it’s pointless. So what if you have to cut it back to your border. and poisoning the ground with diesel etc.? FFS.

I’m not sure who is the unreasonable neighbour right now TBH.

    1:500 is 0.002 (1/500)
    1:20 is 0.05 (1/20)
To get the ratio 0.05/0.002 is 25 so a 2500% increase as jam bo says

You’ll not scale from A4 to a printable size without cropping it.

Your second suggestion is only a factor of 10 different, so 250% or 2.5x

The percentage scales between paper sizes are on a table down this page
    https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-paper.html

    or google it

I used to enjoy Keaveny but his one joke (about how stale his own show is) has become really quite tiresome

Is that a case of joke well played, or a self-fulfilling prophecy?

And while I’m here, perhaps one of you lot would care to explain what the joke or reference is with Marc Riley’s *Manic Q&A*?

It’s not reinventing the bike per se, more an alternative to a Brompton, segway, or a scooter. Looks like it should fold quickly, so useful for commuters who don’t have to pedal far or niche-mongers I guess.

    Looks stupid; I like it.

Do you have access to the reverse side or do the chainstays get in the way? Tried getting a drill on to the blind side?

Never had to myself, but folk do recommend bashing in a torx and trying to drive that.

Obviously do as much as you can to at the same time – soak in penetrating oil, or WD40, add heat and then try to make it budge.

I used to do 15 miles each way through town and then country roads, rolling but not mega hilly. That was a considerable time commitment, with a shower necessary after each leg. 3-4 days a week plus MTB on a Wednesday, kept me fit as a fiddle.

Now do 6 just miles each way, just through town. Don’t need to shower so not much more of a time commitment than the car.

    HTH.

7-10 days means they won’t have it in stock. If you’re prepared for a wait and the possibility of the supplier not having stock, so that your order gets cancelled, crack on. With these expectations in mind, I’ve not been disappointed.

General purpose medium strength liquid (blue) = 243

I preferred the bottle of 243 over the stick of 248

We’ve got Granite in white with bits, (Bianco Norte). Not sparkly and a finer grain than Bianco Stella, which is very popular. Love it.

It hides crumbs like nothing else. Some rough aluminium things leave marks (like the bottom edge of a bread maker) but they came off.

the Silestone website is great for showing the textures but even more helpful was going to DIY kitchens and laying our their range of sample tiles together (well, the ones we were interested in) and taking a photo. We went back to that photo so many times to consult it – I’ll share it here if you want.

Folk have been getting very het up in here and I don’t think there’s been any real disagreement. Just some folk saying “you’re not supposed to expect it to do X” and others saying “yes, but it can do X” :-)

Here’s something to try. Do your little plastic cap up finger-tight to preload the bearing, fit NDS crank, torque to recommended setting, and then try and undo that finger-tight cap.

Then tell me it’s not taking any load

It’s being pinched by the pinch bolts, which are squeezing the tube of the axle. I always, without fail, try and undo the torque cap before releasing the pinch bolts, ’cause I’m a numpty.

    I’m going to leave it

I don;t think there’s any shame in removing oneself from a thread when it’s getting a bit repetitive ;-)

And good luck OP, if you keep everything nipped up it’ll hold on for quite a while.

Looking at the Riddler – they look to be an off road tyre, so have a thin carcass with knobbles. They’ll have very little puncture resistance to thorns or glass chips. A puncture resistant tyre like Marathons would be much more appropriate for reliable commuting. If you’re concerned about tubeless, maybe give these a try. I have had good success with Marathons.

They were quite popular in NZ where they were sold by the original name. Thule then bought them and changed the name so they haven’t been around as Thule Tour racks for very long, which might be part of why you aren’t getting a lot of information.

Some mates would use them to do XC tours on their FS bikes. Old Ghost Road etc.

Can’t remember what they were called though.

I get about 2-3 yrs before I get play on the axle

Same. Never actually killed a pair though.

Must share common lineage with a bic biro. They’ll be lost/stolen or sold, long before you ever actually finish them off.

I had earlier had discussions with Blackwells in Newcastle about this, they could do them up to A0.

also have some friends who got them (or someone else, I’ll ask) to do an A1 custom print of the 1:50k, but printed slightly smaller (1:60k) to fit more on.

Lots of bad review of Goldcar, Rhomdium etc. Con jobs.

We used Budget at the airport. The car was ok and you’re at the back of the joint desk with Avis. If an Avis customer turns up and takes a ticket, you’re at the back of the queue. Very frustrating and wouldn’t use them again.

Short in the leg or short in the body?

Both, although more noticeable in the leg.

    Your proportions may vary ;-D

I have found the dhb stuff to be very short so +1 to try both.

/edit although the free returns are not only thru Asda, you’ll pay exta to use collect+ or RM to return to Wiggle/CRC now.

I see him on the Hamsterley Riders FB group form time to time and met him a few times including a couple of digs, but no idea why you’d have trouble getting an answer if you asked.
