The UCI denied this request on June 1, after the failed tests, but they did accept that the drug would not have enhanced his performance and was administered by a doctor so handed down a more lenient punishment than the maximum two year ban.

So is the issue that the TUE was submitted retrospectively?

I can agree that the (lack of) logic from the UCI is baffling and concerning.

Additionally, I find that new cables make a huge difference when battling the stiction of a clutch mech during shifting.

    Good luck then!

when riding a hardtail on the beach you’ll not notice any of the benefits of a clutch.

riding fast on rocky terrain there’s a noticeable noise reduction with the clutch on. chain retention is also improved, even if you never notice it.

Do you have the broken part and can you define it? is it a grub screw or socket head? worth trying to track it down separately?

    I assume you’ve tried Flowtech?

This forum. I’ve got my P and it still doesn’t work even as well as the old hamster powered pre-hack one!

I’ll give the admins a nudge and get you an invite sent to the P-only forum.

I’m running DHF2 MaxxGrip 2.5 front, DHR2 MaxxTerra 2.4 rear both Exo. I tied with the Dual compound on the rear before, tried the 3C on the rear and have bought the 3C pair again (yep, Tredz could get them both, without having to go to the German shops). Yes it costs a tenner more, but the dual compound lacked straight the line braking and outright grip of the 3C. It’s worn out faster though.

I was nearly able to get this pair from an actual shop (Cycleworks North East, shout out to them) but hey had the DD not the Exo :-)

the overheads and administration required to produce, supply, stock and sell a small part still exist but take proportionally more of the cost of a small part compared to a more expensive part.

I had a pair of Troy Lee Ace (maybe the Ace 2?), which were ace. Fitted, thin material, comfy and stretchy. The only downsides were that they only had one pocket (on the wrong side) and the taped seam fell apart after one wash, which was a bit of an issue. I returned them to Wiggle, still not sure if I ever got refunded.

I ditched the panniers as I also take the little one to nursery on a Hamax bike seat. Tools and tube in a small frame bag.

I keep a locker stashed with shoes, new and part-worn shirts, trousers and underwear. If I’m only wearing clothes during office hours and not during a drive it lasts a lot longer than you might think. Sometimes I ride with a set of new/old underwear in jersey pockets and often I take a rucsac full of kit.

Oh yeah, I went backwards from a Flow Mk3 to an Arch Mk3 on the back after a ding. Haven’t noticed the reduction in width. This is with 2.4″ Minion DHR2.

30 external, so 25 internal? Maybe, 30 is only like 4 of 5 better.

    Go boost, that’s 10 better.

what, for an outdoor lounge, with seating and maybe a fire pit?

I don’t even think real grass is an option for th eOP given the ground conditions he described..

I’ve come ever so close to doing the same. The driver in front may be an unpredictable ****, but it still would have been my fault for predicting their behaviour and driving in to them.

OP. I don’t recall any inspection of footwear when going to Canada.

he juxtaposition in Oz always gives me a wry chuckle. This is a country which has introduced intentionally introduced mice, rats, cats, rabbits, myxamatosis, foxes, dogs, beetles and toads, all of which have systematically destroyed the native fauna and… you want to check that I haven’t brought some foreign dog poo? Alrighty!

the blight of Didymo in the NZ backcountry is awful, all because some dirty kayaker/canoer brought it over in a boat.

I always go as soft and sticky as reasonable on the front. It has a much smaller effect on rolling resistance than the rear and I still (nearly) always wear the rear out first. I’d always the rear break away then the front and figure the front has a harder job to do anyway.

Doesn’t totally stop me falling off though.

    What’s the intended purpose?

The Pivot Mach 5.7 in XS is rather small. As it’s an older 26″ bike, should be had relatively cheaply now.

Decent artificial grass is fantastic stuff. We put some down in our shady rear garden/yard that saw a lot of traffic and it was perfect.

I think it was this stuff

    Wonder Yarn®

and it’s a far cry from the rubbish that is obviously artificial.

I think it’s because the alternative linkage is ever so slightly stiff to use, so the old version feels better and is kept. Ripping the cable loop off isn’t much of a concern on road bikes.

It seems to that the OP is getting a kicking as if he was expecting free childcare.

I think the question was more towards, should he expect his parents to want to be more involved (and thereby do a bit of childcare)?

I’m no cat lover and was getting amused at how polar the discussion has predictably become, as we debate over the family tenderness of our murderous death floofs.

    However

    No law broken

Never confuse legality with morality, that’s a lazy cop-out.

I can’t really understand why it’s law to stop and report dogs being hit and not cats

As they’re semi-wild, they can shit in my garden and I can run them over?

njee, I’d concede that I missed the point if his sentence was even remotely legible.

Because it was such and effort to interpret, I’d consider my point valid.

I’ll note that punctuation (capitalisation and full stops) appear to have been added since my comment; improving it’s legibility.

    :-p

I had to read that several times to understand what you’re trying to say. I though perhaps you had let your predictive text run riot and spew forth a semi-coherent stream of text, itself a reflection on your conscious output.

Punctuation, quotation marks and formatting could be your friend, if you’d let them.

I feel sorry for you’re. It has done nothing wrong and has served a purpose for many years. Now though it seems to be unloved and unused. Should it throw in the towel and disappear into history, replaced by its cousin your?

We stayed at Champsec. Not fancy at all but ok. Possibly just a coincidence but both of the vans camped there had broken fridges after being there for a week and using the hookup.

we were there out of season so were doing a lot of van shuttles and family stuff while there, no idea how close the lifts are, but you’re at the bottom of a couple of good descents.

In that picture it looks like there’s a fatal ding/crack in the seat stay. The steel around the fold looks corroded and dirty – that’s fatal damage from long before it actually failed.

FWIW I have no skin in this game but assume that’s a Cotic? Having seen their response to issues in the past I’d have no qualms about giving them my money.

I can have a look at what brand my tool is and let you know later, if I remember. The Icetoolz ones seem to fit, going off reviews on Amazon.

I do remember feeling aggrieved at having to buy my third lockring tool as none of the older ones would fit.

Did you buy dimmable LED bulbs? I’ve tried a couple of different dimmers and have had good results from the Varilight dimmers. The normal BG electric (the literature differs on whether they are leading edge or trailing edge…) don’t work properly on most of the “dimmable” LED bulbs I’ve had.

    HTH.

get a drill or impact driver to put all the screws in

Agree with this, I bought myself a cordless screwdriver for the task and very glad I did.

It is also possible (thought not easy) to assemble it on your own.

I don’t recall a massive delivery charge either, though this was just the North East of Englandshire.

    I’ve bought some.

I’ve also taken some at a fairly niche event and uploaded them as a way of sharing them. Some even bought them!

n.b. Much love for R&R from me. Love the combination of results conglomeration and race photos. However watching the margin between the fasted rider and myself increasing as times go in is a bit depressing 😭
