    What does your friend ride?

I bought a nice bike because I’m in to bikes, could afford it and they make me happy. I managed to get up and down the same trails when I had a cheap bike, albeit a little bit slower and less comfortably.

I’ve always found the law of diminishing returns apply with bikes. Beyond a certain price, the benefits are so tiny that only a pro would really notice.

This reminds me of when we recently moved offices. Our team was the last to leave the building so I’d bring the bike on to the office floor. One evening my work mate and I set up a trials course across all of the desks on the floor – it was brilliant! My mate filmed it, I’ll get the footage :D

    Most definitely not.

War is just a business enterprise that regular folk don’t profit from.

Don’t get me wrong I prefer homemade but sometimes you just want quick and easy.

@Hugor – That’s what I do. Basic Pizza Express Margherita from the supermarket, few olives & anchovies and it’s all good. Feta cheese, red onion, peppers and jalapenos is nice too.

    I want pizza now.

Martial Arts are really good for fitness. I studied Jeet Kun Do for 20 years but sadly Master Bruce passed away and I couldn’t bring myself to continue.

I went to school with Ruth Sheldon. I think she has been U18 and U14 world chess champion. I remember being slightly aggrieved at getting my ass handed to me by an 11 year old when I was 14.

Just checked on their website, it’s open for business in lovely Salford :D

I shall be paying it a visit tomorrow. I’ve heard their wine selection isn’t too shabby either. My mate was saying Booth’s makes Waitrose look like Kwik Save. Maybe I’ll bump in to Linekar and Lawrenson buying their meal deals.

Hang on. Before the mudslinging starts, it is imperitive that we know whether it’s an alkalising diet or an alkanising diet. Just so we know what brand of mud to sling.

    Well spotted.

The call centre is a dead end and just not an option. It’s a local authority call centre and they’ve just frozen external recruitment, so hopefully somehthing more suitable will come up in a different department. I just don’t want to waste any more time.

End of the day I suppose I should be grateful I’ve got a job at all.

Found out this diet was dreamed up by a Robert O. Young, D.Sc, Ph.D, who received several degrees from Clayton College of Natural Health, a now defunct unaccredited distance learning school. ‘Dr’ Young has not published any research in recognized scientific journals, and none of his graduate degrees are from accredited educational institutions.

Convenitently he has his own website selling ‘alkalising’ products and books.

I guess the moral of the story is if in doubt go to the source.

You can’t wear Fox gloves either – the fox symbol infringes the animal’s image rights.

I think it’s to do with the way Merino Sheep have been bred to overproduce wool that they can’t shed naturally, apparently they are prone to heat exhaustion. Additionally their skin is wrinkly, which causes problems. Then there’s the usual cruelty associated with mass farming – cramped holding pens, transportaion etc. There is a practice called mulesing which is especially cruel.

Where there’s money to made out of animals, cruelty and suffering is all too common unfortunately.

Are there any drawbacks to the feel of the ride? Or any other drawbacks aside from the inconvenience of the initial setup?

In any case, regardless of the subject – unless it is an actual, empirical study about the conflict between dogma and technological progress, it would not be advisable to include such a gratuitous, polemical quote just because…
