Wedding photography sounds good. You could try a bit of corporate photography too, my bro’s company pay a guy £700 to take photographs of their robots for brochures – sounds like some kinky niche porn, but it’s not.

Nice one that you’re happy with it and everything but I didn’t notice any difference riding a Kashima RP23 compared to my RP2.

It was on a different bike with a completely different suspension design though, so not a fair comparison.

I’m gutted it has finished, what to watch now?

    +1 for Spiral.

I might have to resort to a third viewing of The Wire.

Regardless of the reason some people/children are scared of dogs, I think it’s courteous to appreciate that and reign your dogs in if necessary.

My little whippet cross tends to act more erratically and interested in people who act erratic and you end up with a wierd mutual distrust scenario that just seems to exacerbate the situation. It’s just easier to call her to heel.

Perhaps we’ll be at war with France by then? Cockerneys will be able to go misty-eyed with nostalgia – our finest hour and all that – as they watch two different lots of Typhoons having dogfights over the capital

Don’t say that! I’m planning a trip to Morzine in summer.

    hijacked aircraft perhaps? ( a la 9/11…)

i’m with matbee – seems a bit over the top now, but what would the dailywail (and probably the STW massiv) be saying if we were caught with our pants round our ankles…

Aye, I suppose you’re right. Although I’d hope after 9/11 that they’d be prepared for that scenario outside of the olympics too.

I use ODI X-Treme and ODI Cross Trainer on my bikes and they’ve both been good. I like the mushroomy 80’s texture of the Cross Trainers, but they do get lots of crap embedded inside the filaments.

I broke mine last year and no problems to report, although it’s worth checking periodically.

Say what you like about the Hitch, but there’s no denying he was a brilliant rhetorician.

I enjoyed the way he used to eviscerate his opponents, in theological debates.

I didn’t agree with his stance on Iraq though.

Cut Gate was proper muddy last Saturday and it’s been raining quite a bit since. I wouldn’t fancy Cavedale if there’s any chance of ice, it’s bad enough at the best of times.

Sorry, it doesn’t work like that. Back up your “facts,” otherwise what you’re presenting there is hearsay and opinion.

Quoted as absolutes – it’s absolute rubbish.
    .

So……Nobody has ever survived being hit by a car at 35mph ???

And…..Nobody has ever been killed by being hit by a car at 25mph ???

Would you agree that drivers and riders who exceed speed limits cause more crashes, and kill and injure more people, than drivers who do not exceed speed limits?

There is good evidence* that speed cameras are very effective at slowing traffic. They are usually sited in areas that statistically have a high accident rate or potential for accidents, e.g. near schools or where a fast road enters a residential area.

It is a shame that a financial penalty has to be used to enforce safe driving, but it’s more effective than just explaining the consequences of speeding and hoping people will do the right thing.

*Can’t be bothered finding evidence and presenting it here, but don’t take my word for it, do some research.

Your fence looks identical to mine. You don’t reside in lovely Cheetham do you? Contemplating getting an ASR myself, despite only buying a Canyon last year. I don’t think I’ll be able to die happily until I’ve owned a Yeti.

I loved my Endura Stealth before I lost it :(

I wore mine in winter with just a merino base layer underneath and it was toasty.

I’ve replaced it with a Gore Path Shell, which I wear with a jersey and baselayer. I now prefer the versatility of more layers to control temperature.

Same as this, except spent 4 years doing the same in Manchester. Glad I no longer have to do so, battling with taxi drivers, mad school run mothers and the 42 bus wasn’t pleasant.

That’d be Oxford Rd/Wilmslow Rd then. Those 42’s travel in packs as well.

Cornering is all about judging and adjusting the speed before you enter the turn. Good line – start wide and follow the apex of the turn and then get on the pedals on the way out. At least that’s what I’ve been told!

So he is on a 140mm full suspension and you’re on a 29″ hardtail. That might be a factor if he’s faster on the downs, but you say he was pulling away on the flat bits too?

I was asking about his nickname, because I thought it might have referred to a preference for eating the bread crust, in which case the speed discrepancy would be obvious.
