Not sure why but it reminds me of when the T-1000 dies in Terminator II

I’ve got a 200g Icebreaker Oasis, which I really like. I haven’t had it that long so can’t comment on longevity.

The OP has jumped to a few conclusions based on his own experiences. He sounds misguided, rather than racist, although this lack of objectivity and failure to think critically is fertile ground for a bit of propaganda.

Has anyone been to any of the Eastern European resorts in Romania, Bulgaria, Poland etc?

Thanks for all the suggestions, they’re much appreciated. I’ve got a better idea of where to start now. Ideally I’d like a resort with linked runs, but I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew – I’m not the best at knowing my limitations.

I’m hoping to get a lot more time in on the indoor slope and I seem to making progress with every visit. I know there’s no substitute for the real thing but I’m hoping it will stand me in good stead and prevent me having to waste time on the really basic stuff.

Do the slopes generally get more difficult to negotiate later in the season, or is it just a case of having a shorter run?

Cheers. I bought some ski specific trousers from Go Outdoors 1/2 price, so hopefully they’ll do the job.

Sorry for the hijack but I’ve got a related question. I’m going on my 1st ever ski trip in Feb and was wondering if my Mountain Equipment Gore Tex hardshell would be suitable.

It’s intended as a climbing/hiking jacket really, so no powder skirt, ski pass wallet etc. Are the aforementioned just nice luxuries or is there some other reason that would make my shell not up to the task?

Suarez claimed (and has bin backed up by various cultural experts and others) that he intended no offence, that his comments have bin taken out of their cultural context

Why was he referring to his race at all? Personally I don’t think cultural ignorance is a good enough excuse. He’s played in Europe for long enough to know that his comments would be offensive.

Currently got my eye on a frame from Leisure Lakes, so I’d buy a £1000 voucher for £750 if I could pay through Paypal. Can the voucher be supplemented with cash to buy a more expensive bike/frame?

Supposing cost wasn’t an issue. Say if you won a competition and were given the option of a carbon or aluminium frame, which would you choose?

CF tends to fail catastrophically whereas metal does not

This is my main concern, although apparently this can also occur with alloy. The rational part of my brain is telling me that carbon is just as strong as alu – if not stronger – but the irrational part might prevent me enjoying the ride, I reckon I’d be constantly wincing.

Saying that, I was a bit nervous riding my carbon road bike at first but now it doesn’t even occur to me. I suppose I just want reassuring :D

I’ve got exactly the same problem. Rear pads don’t make contact until over 1/2 of the lever throw. I’m going to try blahblahblah’s suggestion before topping up.

When I was a kid there was a swimming pool in Manchester called Sharston baths – anyone from Manc remember it? – that had a high diving board. They used to let anyone jump/dive off it, I landed on my back attempting a sommersalt, I was only 8.

I’m sure they must’ve had some nasty accidents. The no diving rule is a bit of a kill joy though. I went to La Cinque Terre in Italy and the Italian kids were doing some amazing dives off the cliffs.

Saying that I used to live in Salford Quays and the local scallys would dive off a massive bridge in to the Manchester Ship Canal. Some of them looked like they had real talent.

If you get a HT you’ll want a FS and vice verca. It’s human nature.

Get the HT 1st and then get a FS later.
