Critical thinking should be incorporated in to the National Curriculum. Especially with sheer weight of absolute shite available on the Internet.

Subscribing to absurd conspiracy theories, believing in religion, not ‘believing’ in evolution, alkaline diets, homeopathy or miracle cancer cures could all be neutralised by an ability to assess quality/weight/source of evidence.

A common theme with these people seems to be they have a narrative and seek ‘evidence’ to reinforce that narrative and no amount of real evidence can dissuade them. The irony is they call themselves sceptics but they’re the opposite of sceptical.

As above use Pages. You can export files in .doc/.docx for compatibility with word if you’re sending.

Once you get used to OSX going back to Windows will make you feel like slashing your wrists.

Love Butcher up front, but not many roots round here. Paired it with a Slaughter on back.

Sidewalls on the non grid Purgatory aren’t the strongest. I’ve just replaced a ripped Purgatory with a Spec Slaughter out back to go with Butcher up front. So far so good – fast rolling and good corner grip.

Are you suggesting Egyptian TV has an element of propaganda?

Wonder if the same could be said for any other parts of the world…

Bit more than an element of propaganda.

Kitzbuhl is a lovely town with good skiing and is good value.

I had a 2011 Canyon Nerve and replaced with a Trek Fuel when it got pinched. The Canyon was better value for money but the Trek frame seems like better quality.

Current Canyons look like the quality has gone up a notch since I got mine so probably not a fair comparison.

I’ve also got a Trek 29er and run a Specialized Butcher on the front. It’s nice and grippy – definitely an improvement over the stock Bontrager.

Benromach 10 is a personal favourite, very well rounded and a bargain for £35. Something different from your usual well known distillery’s offerings.

Springbank 10 is another that is a bit different and really well rounded.

I just picked up a Glenlivet Nadurra 16 reduced to clear in my local Tesco for £23. It’s cask strength and isn’t filtered – really nice for the money.

Lagavulin 16 is hard to beat if he likes peated whisky.

Hibiki 12 is a Japanese blend but it’s absolutely gorgeous and comes in a fancy looking decanter style bottle. Only problem is it’s £36 for 50cl

As someone else has mentioned Tamdhu is a lovely sherried speysider.

My XT 1×11 drops down when back pedalling in 42 and the one below that too. I think this is normal because of the chainline and isn’t too much of an issue because I don’t tend to back pedal in those gears.

I can’t use a spacer because I’ve got a press fit BB, but I’m going to try putting spacers behind the chainring bolts as I’ve got some room to play with between the chainset and frame. I’ll report back.

I bought 51mm offset RCT Pikes to replace the flexy Fox 32 CTD that came with my bike and they’re a massive improvement. Mine were 140mm but I’m running them at 120mm at the moment. I had to install a new air assembly to do this for £30. Great fork so far.

I used to be a Steve but I’ve changed jobs so my commute has shortened. I now wear my work clothes so have to resist going too fast for fear of sweating.

I still occasionally bring out my inner Steve when someone presumptuously moves in front of me at the lights.

Another running AB 32t oval ring with XT 42 and Shimano chain. My chain also drops down the block if I backpedal in the 42.

You could drop two of the gym sessions and focus on training your whole body with compound movements like squats, deadlifts, presses and pulls. Saves you time and those bigger movements are more effective than training smaller individual muscle groups. The time you save could be spent targeting your weaknesses, e.g. an interval training session to help you work on surviving those short, sharp efforts in the enduro races.

Eating well and recovering well are just as important, if not more important, than training more.

    This.

I’ve got M8000 on my FS and SLX M675 on my hardtail. I can’t tell the difference.

The new i-Spec II makes for a tidy setup and they look nicer IMO.

Love deadlifts, counter intuitively they helped clear up my lower back pain. Close second to the squat.

+1 for Rippetoe and the starting strength programme. Jim Wendler’s 5 3 1 programe is good too.

Another recommend for offsetbushings.com. I could only fit one because I have a DRCV shock so less noticeable but it all helps.

I’d like some new wheels to replace the weak and heavy Bontrager Dusters that came on my Trek. They’re utter bobbins, end up out of shape after every ride. The LB rims are very appealing.

Sounds like you need a Camber Evo. 120mm Pike so nice and sturdy but no too long travel so it has a sporty feel. It’s the bike I wish I’d bought instead of my Fuel 29er. I love my Fuel but only after buying a new fork, dropper post, stem, handlebars and drivetrain. The Camber would’ve saved me so much money in the long run!
