    I find 120mm is a nice balance.

I’m split between a CAAD10 (105) from Paul’s Cycles and the Planet X (Rival). I’ve previously owned a CAAD9 and loved it but when I replaced it with a Cannondale 6 the carbon frame was a much nicer ride and made the CAAD9 seem a bit harsh in comparison.

Not very cool looking, rather bucking the fixie trend but it’s perfect for my commute.

I’m going to go for a Planet X and pay the 10% up front. Only thing comparable for value is a Ribble and I don’t dig their syling to much.

That YT is a bargain at just over £1500

If the Euro keeps getting weaker the Canyon will be even better value.

If not that how about another Yeti? SB-66 perhaps?

I didn’t realise Planet X did Cyclescheme. Will check it out, cheers.

I’ve got a Canyon Nerve and it’s great but I’ve been pining after a Santa Cruz TRc or Yeti ASR5c for a while now. The thoughts just won’t go away no matter how much I try to tell myself my current bike is all I need.

TJ that simply isn’t true. It is thus because it suits the various parties to say it is. I used to live in a seat that had been labour since the year dot. They could stick a baboons arse up for election, and it’d get in.

However, after the Iraq invasion there was a concerted campaign by the Lib Dems to mobilise the opposition. It went Lib Dem with a 20% swing.

    Was that Withington, Manchester?

I remember seeing Moses play for Palace a few yeara ago thinking this kid is going to be fantatic. He struggled a bit after his move to Wigan but seesm to be finding his feet now. But I think he’s chosen to play Nigeria now, so isn’t an option for England.

Ah really? Shame that, although who can blame him. Hopefully Wilfried Zaha won’t opt to play for Ivory Coast.

Johnson, Moses, Lennon are all head and shoulders ahead of Downing for ability. I don’t care if he is left footed…he’s crap.

Richards is the most obvious omission, especially considering Kyle Walker is injured. Richards is part of a title winning defence that has conceded less goals than any other team in the division. Maybe he is paying the price for not playing recently, although at least he’d be fresh.

Stuart Downing is another inexplicable selection given his form for Liverpool – no goals and barely an assist. I would like to have seen Victor Moses rewarded for his brilliant late season performances.

I was thinking of doing the public session with UK Bike Skills. Has anyone does this and did they find it beneficial? Class size is limited to 8.

I used Facebook a lot when I was at Uni and found it useful for social and academic purposes. I made the mistake of accepting every Tom, Dick and Harry’s friend request. Although I knew I could pull the plug on any of them and restrict the news feed etc, the nosy part of me could’t help but read their banal status updates and look at the photos of them advertising how great their lives are. Eventually I realised it wasted a lot of my time and put me in a bad mood, so I deactivated my account. That was about 3 years ago and I’ve not missed it. Nothing against Facebook, it’s just the way I used it and the people I was friends with wound me up.

Cannondale six form pauls with 105, wheels are crap but the frame should be mint. Failing that a CAAD10 if you don’t want to mail order.

I used to have a Six and I’ve also owned a CAAD9. The Six is a very comfortable ride and very stiff, I much preferred it to my CAAD9.

Litter dropping really winds me up. It’s not just the act itself – which is disgusting – but the selfishness it represents. People who drop litter out of their car windows really get to me, why can’t they keep it in their car and dispose of it at their destination?

I live in Cheetham Hill in Manchester, which is really bad for Lucozade bottles – usually consumed by kids, do they really have ADHD or are they just drugged to the eyeballs on glucose? People frequently flytip the field where I walk my dog, despite the existence of a free Council bulk refuse collection service, it’s more effort to dump it!

I recently pulled up one of my neighbours in the friendliest way I could, because she was throwing bottles on to the road, despite being stood next to her recycle bin. When I pointed this out she said “They aren’t mine and someone gets paid to clean ’em up anyway”.

I need to move and get some perspective. When did I become a moaning old man? 👿

    “Spider legs!”

They aren’t skinny and I’ve not got eight of them, so I can only assume because like most normal men, they’re hairy.

I got pipped by 3 pts in my league after leading all season. It was the Aguero goal that did it, but I can’t complain because I’m a City fan. Would’ve won £200!

Staying in Edale i would say, ride up to Hollins Cross, along the edge past Mam Tor then up along Rushop Edge before a great descent into Roych Clough. Climb out of Roych Clough up around Mt Famine and then down the other side. That will drop you out at the bottom of the BW climb back up towards Kinder Scout and Jacobs Ladder. Finally, down Jacobs Ladder back into Edale with a big grin on your face and tired legs

    This one is a classic.

I was fixing a puncture once and saw a mouse nearby nibbling on something, it seemed completely unfazed by my presence so I approached it. The mouse continued munching away while I stroked it on its head! I don’t think it had the usual prey instincts and is probably dead now, either that or it is rock hard like Jerry’s cousin.

I only ever get cramp when I’m lying down doing nothing. It most frequently happens when I’m in bed 😀

    justatheory

I’m sure that in most cases cramp is likely to be due to muscle overload but surely some evidence exists that sodium deficit brought on by excessive sweating contributes to cramp? This view can’t have been invented by sports drinks manufacturers eager to sell us their wares, I’m sure some evidence exists but they’ve overplayed it to sell to every Tom, Dick and Harry.

I bought a memory foam mattress and although comfortable to lie on, it was far too hot. I’ve since got rid and gone back to a traditional mattress.

Used them for recent ski trip and they’re the best budget airline I’ve ever flown with (Easy Jet, Ryan Air, BMI Baby).
