I run a 2014 Pike and my friends always comment on how smooth they are after a run on my bike.

Learning how to service them yourself is the key.

I did the same with BT after loads of problems, I’ve had practically trouble free service ever since.

I used a combination of older BT fibre modem (from the days of separate modem
and router for fibre) and an Apple Airport Express.

My friend was killed in a head on with a lorry on the wrong side of the road, on a blind bend.

Lorry driver lied from the get go, saying he was stationary and my friend hit him. Lied about his speed, lied about his position on the road. Hard evidence at the scene proved him wrong.

He got 18 months but was sent home to Romania after about 6 weeks. 6 weeks for a man’s life.

The police were awesome, the system is a joke.

The main advantage with vinyl is getting a different master to the CD.

CD’s are often mastered with lots of dynamic range compression to make them sound better in noisy environments like a car or subway, or just to make it louder than the other guy. Look up the loudness wars to see what I mean.

Vinyl is an inferior format in every measurable way, but if the CD has a DR of 5db and the Vinyl 10db then vinyl is likely to sound better on a proper system. You will have to crank the volume control on the vinyl but it will be so much smoother and dynamic than the CD.

I play my music digitally with a Mac and Arcam DAC. Some ripped from CD, some ripped from Vinyl.

My bike has 11-46 Sunrace and my GF has the 11-42 Deore.

Go for the Sunrace, I instantly notice the difference jumping between the two.

I’m not making my bike sound stupid to accommodate the 10% of dog walkers that don’t want to share the trails. The grumpy ones will be grumpy whatever yo do.

I love a noisy hub, gets the dog walkers out the way.

I’ve got a 3rd gen in the bedroom and it’s close to useless these days. AirPlay cuts out a lot and refuses to work now on some TV apps.

4th Gen in the living room is much better.

It’s just a case of buying a longer air spring and swapping it over.

It’s really simple once you have it all apart. It’s just a circlip holding the air spring in place. No harder than a lower leg service.

How did all those gauge marks get on there ? I had mine apart last week after 18 months of solid use and it didn’t look anything like that.

You can get 2pac in a can. I’ve used it on carbon fibre and it’s very hard wearing once cured.

Battery light usually means Alternator has gone, rather than the battery.

I paid the local auto electrics place to change my alternator after years of doing things myself.

First they ordered the wrong part, next the spanner slipped and smashed up my header tank.

Spend your money on better speakers first, then a good amp, then the source. OP amp output stages have been transparent for decades making the differences in CD players massively overstated by reviews.

Is the calliper centred correctly over the disc ? Or did you do the old loosen the bolts and squeeze the lever to centre the pads ?

I’m a supervisor in recycling plant, one of our key problems is paper labels on plastic packaging. You can get away with upto 5% (2% for blowing film) but scrap above that would be sent abroad. Changing the law so all labels have to be plastic would allow the country to recycle more, to a better standard and export a lot less. After all, it’s the exported stuff that ends up in the sea.

The problem with the post consumer stuff is people don’t want to clean their recycling. We used to do milk bottle scrap and it would stink out half the town.

If you can already get the front wheel in the air then I’m not sure this will help you much.

Someone on here gave me a little tip that isn’t in the YouTube videos. Push away with your feet as the front comes up. I’m still learning but that little bit of info made all the difference for me.

XBox, PS4 and Nintendo Switch controllers all have profiles on Steam and work automatically. My father uses a PS4 one with the charging cable plugged into the PC. I use the Nintendo one over Bluetooth. Both work great.

My Mission 782s had awful treble with the standard Audax tweeter, the OEM crossover wasn’t much cop either.

A decent tweeter and lots of fettling with the crossover has turned them into something special that punch way above their weight.

Little bit of silicone lube and working the pistons in and out a few times should sort it.

Got a pinch flat riding down some stairs about a month ago. Went tubeless after that.

I put an extra piece of tape over the hole for a better seal.
