    CFH – familiar with The Greyhound in Overton? Stockbridge Greyhound is also excellent…

    Right, so someone (SimonFB?) gets their kit off? Oh no, I’m going to the pub!

    Oooh, tell us more, CFH!

    CFH, how do you know what’s in Jamie’s drawers? Something you would like to tell us?

    Sounds like you are having a shiite time of it. All the best!

    Sick wife recovering (please God) from a very nasty Bartholin’s cyst here.

    Stuff happens… Hope you get it sorted.

    Love the staircase! Being well done, I think.

    I think that if CFH showed us a real picture of himself he’d have to kill us all afterwards…

    Well if you aren’t looking for work from it it’s fine! (Would be nice to be able to view larger versions of the pics though).

    Drac is being harsh: he doesn’t say why he thinks what he does…

    I always prefer an email address (just personal preference, I guess) to a contact form. Both is better…

    Very nice!

    Easy to navigate, good pictures.

    If you’re doing it as a business it would be good to know how to contact you, otherwise my only comments are that the ‘Bikes and Cycling’ link breaks to a new line when you are viewing another set and that you can’t view a large version of any of the pictures. Very small points, though…

    A few limited editions (Brian Pollard, Warwick Higgs) but can’t afford the originals!

    Glad someone mentioned Philip Bouchard (nice guy, apparently): like his pictures.

    Would like to be able to afford a Paul Delvaux… No chance!

    Like that picture acjim!

    Michael Parkes is another favourite (again, no chance!)

    Sadly Freedrick, Lord Leighton, John Everett Millais and Lawrence Alma Tadema will always be out of my price range!

    So how did the interview go, WCA? Well, I hope…

    Saw one the other day and thought it was a stupid sign. ‘Course it could turn left, or right, or go straight on, or perhaps even go backwards.

    Isn’t that what vehicles do?

    Too many stupid signs in this country. It’s another indication of the nanny state in which we live.

    Oh, I’m not laughing as I can quite believe that the scum we have in power at the moment would do something like that.

    But the site is a spoof (only just discovered this: drunk last night when I first saw it) – try clicking on ‘View Picture’

    This site looks dodgy to me as I clicked on ‘Check Registration’ without entering a registration number and got some completely false results when I shouldn’t have got any results at all…

    But nothing would surprise me about the surveillance society in which we live…

    At least one of the Swinley singletrack runs is absolutely filthy as well, as is my daily ride.

    The Swinley rubbish is mountain bikers for sure as no-one else would be there, the second is just the way Britain is.

    Both scenarios are shite.

    Never lived there, but I’ve been there a few times: traffic’s dreadful!

    Wouldn’t have a yacht (except a J Class but then I’d have to have staff to sail her for me).

    Want big engines!

    Not that hard a language.

    Try:

    http://www.w3schools.com/JS/default.asp
    http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/111599-1.shtml
    http://www.webteacher.com/javascript/index.html

    It looks like C# (and therefore by extension C / C++?)

    Loops:

    for (i = 0; i < x; i ++)
    {
    // code loop here
    }

    ‘while’ and ‘do’ loops are similar.

    ‘if’ statements:

    if (i == x)
    {
    // code for i is equal to x
    }
    else
    {
    // code for i is not equal to x
    }

    Note the ‘==’, otherwise (with a single ‘=’) you are assigning a value to i

    So, if you have a form element (probably in this case a text box) named ‘txtFirstName’ your code to make sure it contains a value would be something like:

    if (document.getElementByID(‘txtFirstName’).text == ”)
    (
    alert(‘First name is required’); // note double slash for the comment
    return false; // ‘return false’ to exit code
    }

    ‘alert’ puts up the (annoying) message! Yes, I know this doesn’t validate ‘ ‘ entries (ie, those with spaces entered) but they’re not hard to code around…

    Hope this helps – email me at vdub1992[at]hotmail[dot]com if you want some examples. I’m sure I can dig some out.

    My programming ‘lightbulb’ moment was when I realised that all languages do the same thing, they just say it differently! (With, I guess, some exceptions: ADA maybe?).

    Shoot me down if you want, STW massif, I’m just trying to recall some stuff!

    CFH – North Hampshire: between Basingstoke and Winchester and not too far from Stockbridge (although we have our own butcher who’s very good). Jody’s farm shop is just down the road (for buffalo steaks etc). Couldn’t wish for a better location…

    CFH – we have a few Stonehenge beers available on tap occasionally around here. Really appreciate them…

    But surely HSB brewed in Chiswick will be different from that which was brewed in Horndean (different water…)?

    A vote for Sign Of Spring (mmm, green beer!) from the Stonehenge Brewery and pretty much anything else from there… Danish Dynamite, Pigswill…

    Why do most of you want to dis someone who has quite possibly made a few quid and bought him or her self something nice?

    Are you all socialists or something? Perhaps you would all like to give your bikes to some chavs who haven’t earned a damn’ thing?

    So someone earns a few quid (perhaps quite a few) and you all want to do is rubbish them.

    Get over yourselves!

    Might just open another can of beer myself (it not being a school night for me as I haven’t worked for ages!). What do I mean might? Definitely going to open another beer and watch University Challenge!

    Yup, scary. Too many issues here on which to comment individually. Confirms my thoughts.

    Welcome to Britain.

    What passport for those wishing to live somewhere decent?
