Is there a 'Diagnose Networking Problems' button? Sure you would have tried it if there were…

    IE version?

Are the industrial remains those of the West Somerset Mineral Railway and its incline near Raleigh's Cross?

Not funny, nor does he intend to be, but Michael Moorcock is a good read – Dancers at the End of Time set, the Eternal Champion books and (almost) anything with Jerry Cornelius and his cronies in it are good. Well, I liked them, anyway.

Not an architect, but I think most of those deserve to be pulled down and replaced with something a bit more in keeping with the surroundings.

People who haven't worked out that "decimated" no longer only means killing exactly 1 in 10.

When did that happen? As far as I am concerned its only changed for people who don't know what it means…

Oh, and people who use 'myself' when they mean 'me'.

    Socialists.

Socialists are not petty insignificant things – they're a danger to any decent society!

Using the words 'decimated' and 'disinterested' incorrectly.

    >Also, the Apple logo is a (slightly cryptic) reference to Alan Turing:

    Often quoted but unlikely

Well the logo does have a bite out of it… and Turing committed suicide by taking a bite from an apple laced with cyanide…

'The Turing test is a proposal for a test of a machine's ability to demonstrate intelligence.' according to Wikipedia.

Also, the Apple logo is a (slightly cryptic) reference to Alan Turing:

(Oh, and what's the point of apologising? Or of giving him a posthumous knighthood? He was badly treated by today's standards but probably not by the standards of the day. Sad but true.)

If you can't do the time don't do the crime. It ain't rocket science

    Not always true.

NWPD can be crap. Brunstrom seems to be an arsehole.

    Excellent first post TJ.

Never mind the rest… 'nuff said.

Sounds like we might have been to some of the same places? Tyne Cott, Beaumont Hamel, Arromaches, Pegasus Bridge…

    Nice one.

Perhaps they did more for us

Do you think! The Polish were extraordinary in WW2 and usually over looked.

Oh, yes I do think – was it 333 Squadron in Fighter Command? Anyway, men and women who had lost everything and with a lot to fight for. Sad that they were overlooked.

Umm, let's not get into a politics thing on this thread- not why I started it – start your own if you want to have a pop at someone!

Yes, I guess we didn't do much for Poland, HC. Perhaps they did more for us? In terms of the pilots that came here and flew for us? Not to mention helping with Enigma…

You probably need to share a little more info about this to get a response!

Sounds like you've had a bad time though…

Application forms are crap. I look on JobServe, apply for the jobs and am really annoyed if a CV isn't sufficient. Works most of the time.

If I get a form through to fill in I wonder if the employer is the right one for me… (but I am what some people would call an IT geek…)

    Hi Shakey

I seem to recall that you can add <script>…</script> tags anywhere in a document, but don't know if that will work for what you want to do. Give it a try and let me know – just sorting out spag bol (and rioja!) at the mo, so might have to be tomorrow!

Easy to do in JavaScript if you want to put them in a website – only requires N++ (NotePad).

There should be a script you can nick off the 'net somewhere, or I'm sure someone on here either has one or could run you one up.

I could put the code together, maybe, if you can't find one.

    Dull Men's Club

I particularly like the airport carousels and the park benches, plus there was a link to a pylon appreciation site somewhere.

I briefly flirted with the idea of a collection of photos of manhole and drain covers – started taking the pictures but got bored with it.

    Virtual Staplers are cool, too.

Do we know if the aircraft taking him home has landed safely yet?

(I thought that Kenny MacAskill's speech was very interesting and that the right decision was reached on compassionate grounds. The legalalities are a minefiled, to say the least…)
