This one didn’t seem cross – it just didn’t want to be in our conservatory!

Apparently they are not aggressive unless you threaten them or their nest – and their sting is not life threatening (unless you are allergic).

    Lovely creatures!

[edit] Pretty sure this was a female from its size and colour.

Not really a mainstream band but I’d like to see them! Should be good fun (even if it means a trip to Southampton

I want to try Croatia …

    Recommended!

Split is fantastic, Trogir is lovely, Plitvice Lakes National Park is fantastic, Krka Falls ditto, nice people, good food.

Big country though (well long, anyway): be prepared to do a lot of driving to see even all of these.

Dubrovnik is on our list as well…

    Waves back to CFH!

We need more information about the type of holiday you are looking for OP…

To elaborate on my earlier post:

    Ardennes for walking
Baie de Somme for birdwatching, steam railway, WWI sites, Naourse underground city, Amiens and Les Hortillonnages…

Also depends on how long you plan to go for.

Bruges, Ghent, Baie de Somme (Picardy, France), the Ardennes (Belguim)… All lovely for different reasons. Depends what you want to do when you’re there.

Eurotunnel for the channel crossing, tripadvisor for the reviews, booking.com for the accommodation. Sorted.

A scare-architect – suit, wellies, hardhat. Hi viz jacket with TESCO written on the back and a clipboard. On the clipboard his notes read “One day you’ll remember when all this was fields (you’re not going to have any more problems with crows)”

Rather too true around here – but probably not Tesco in our case.

    [edit] like your thinking, Bikebouy!

We’ve had no problems with GoDaddy – help desk always pretty good and there is a London number to call (so free for us).

Not looked into who owns the domain name stuff but hopefully won’t need to so will carry on using them for now…

I meant that the champagne cooler / failure issue needs to be addressed!

(I don’t drink and drive, however – the chauffeur does the driving)

Flashy it’s OK if the fridge isn’t chilling the champagne adequately too

That’s outrageous. Surely a safety issue?

That saves the expense of a trial and long term incarceration

What an unpleasant thing to say. Something very, very sad has happened here. We may never know what.

No, you read it correctly, CFH.

Could be construed as ‘you are leaving drinks’ but I don’t think that’s what the op meant.

Martins Rubber Company in Southampton are specialists in making rubber things – they might be able to help.

I have no involvement with the company except that I was friends with one of the directors years ago.

displaying a sign in the hairdresser would probably be quite difficult and painful. displaying it in the hairdresser’s would be easier.

    Excellent – well said!

Chwkw, I have changed my mind. You are not only illiterate: you are irrational, ignorant and incapable of stringing a coherent sentence together and should not be allowed out.

Thee fish – I’m glad someone agrees.

Chewkw you are an illiterate fwkwt. Your post makes no sense and I suggest that you decist now. I respect your right to an opinion but suggest that you exercise it wisely.

Some hideous responses on this thread, especially about feeding him bacon / pork / alcohol.

Surely a mark of civilisation is how we treat those who have done wrong (and he certainly has done wrong) but ‘an eye for an eye’ is not the way forward.

Roadtrip? When we were in Koln I said ‘lets drive to Berlin’ (a quick look at the map ….6hours+ each way)

Yes – we’ve driven back from the Harz Mountains in pretty much one hit with a dinner stop on the way. It’s not much further to Berlin!

    Fascinating, thanks!

Would love to go to Berlin – preferably by road. Another holiday idea.

Would especially like to go to the villa at Wansee.

    Holidays in Dubai?

    Dump her. Now.

Dubai not on the holiday destination list then…

Seriously though, MrsJulianA earned more than I did when we got together (perhaps not 3x though, but her earning potential was much greater) and we’ve been together eighteen years and counting.

Feelings should matter much more than money – if that’s not the case then maybe it won’t work. Sorry…

Mmm, Shamrock Quay – brings back lots of memories!

Sounds like a good place to eat but we’re no longer in the area. Might bear it in mind for lunch if we are ever in town.

I hope your car is still there!

@CFH – I shall look forward to receiving your therapist’s bill. I may return it with interest after your comments on another thread about ‘doing the naughty in the shower’.
