Had a car squeeze past me the other day when commuting. Was in a rush to get past and did not see a car coming the other way. Just swerved my way missing my bar by 2 inches. Idiot. Had all been fine until 5pm when all the people are in a rush to get home.

i ride a 40mm stem on my old school xc bike and have done for a number of years now. Trying a spare 50mm one soon just for a change. It was fine with a 70ish mm one but I prefer the less racey feel and the top tube is pretty long.

Around my parents way there’s a guy who uses (excuse my ignorance) a bike that your legs are in front of you. He has paddles attached to the side and uses his arms to proper the bike. He always wears a face mask and wears a bandana, cycles down the middle of the road and shouts swear words at all cars.

When I was a student used to see a local cycling window cleaner ( had a trolley on the back of the bike). Also dressed in day glow lumi clothes, head to toe. Had a lumi bike too iirc. 8)
