Yeah, try rolling the bars forward, or trying a lower rise bar with less of a swept back design/position. Although for me part of the hecklers appeal is the short feeling.

for the price ( ie quite cheap)I like this, although no doubt there are more respectable brands out there

diamond back IMHE are very good value. Have a look at the new 2010 ( or 2009) Mr Lucky's ( DJ bike so no pegs) but discounted at various places and cracking spec and value.ie full cromo frame, forks, bars, decent rims 3 pc cranks, etc. Would be hard to beat these at the price (although iirc the tt is 20.75 inches so not super short).A cheapo jobby with a hi tensile frame could be had at a baragin prices for school duties though and is likely to have a shorter top tube too, if your son is small. Would be heavy but most are unless you start to spend. I would say a Mr Lucky is a Good BMX, although I have no experience of the more higher end ones, where you get a lighter bike, or additional strength for a given weight.

my local tkmaxx had a technical westbeach ( high end) jacket in clearnace for £30.!!!that's gotta be at least 200 notes new.

Helmets, wrist guards ( I use skateboarding ones ) are a great idea.
I also wear knee pads and elbow pads ( cheap but decent skateboard/ rollerblade ones) under my clothing to. I should imagine somewhere like sports direct do them cheap.May be even worth looking on argos.

If the weather is foul I wear thin thermal leggings under my pants. I always wear a thermal top under my jacket as a base layer as a minimum.

don't forget to take you wrist guards with you when trying out gloves to see if they fit over them with ease.

Some of the earlier GT's ( including the LTS and Zaskar). Possibly a Muddy Fox Courier.

Sorry for the hijack – TJ, do you think that would work with my Drop Offs. Only getting about 80% travel with zero preload on them. They are OEM zocchi fork and I cannot get additionals springs. ( Tried but the lengths were different)

I may remove one spring and add preload
Remove both springs and add loads of preload
Do nothing ( or first option ) and reduce the oil levels slightly.

    Cheers.

PS I do not want to die
