i guess it would be fine. It was a while ago i went but no braking bumps at all, even the dh course.

    fun

i’ve done 2 wks in les arcs on one of these
    [/url]
i had dual ply dh tyres on it too. Did a wide variety of the singletrack, and the dh course. Was fine if a little tiring. I would now, if possible choose a FS tbh as i would be faster and less beat up.
depends i guess on what your riding in les arcs. Trail Addiction took us down some sweet rooty technical stuff tho.also that bike is a very stiff 4x bike with 130mm up front. Less forgiving than something like a 456 i guess.

with bmx’s as far as i can gather mid school =90’s
    old school = 1980’s

for mountain bikes i’d say up to maybe 2000 are retro as a guess as bikes started getting disk brakes around this time generally.

or maybe – old school = cantis
    mid school – v’s only

i’d look at dmr vaults or superstars if i was buying, or i’d just get a pair of suitable wellgos.

I cannot understand the cars that bib you as they pass you. They get alongside ( and thus are overtaking ) and then just bib, like you shouldn’t be there or something. Mind you last time that happened a car overtook and hadn’t left enough room ahead to safely pull in before a crossing island, so i guess they then assumed you are in the wrong for being in the way. Sometimes though they just bib, whilst overtaking. Think I need to find a quieter route tbh.

Great thread. Great looking bike. Love the headtube design – looks functional and retro. Looks like a trials bike. Great.

had a sticky piston on my maguras iirc. the tech site suggested just cycling them and that worked ( touches wood )

iirc it was because the bike had not been used for a while so i guess the lubrication had dried up.

i’ve been riding a couple of bmx tracks lately. Weather has meant superb conditions. I try and get out during the week for a few short bmx blasts.
I’ve learnt to bunnyhop too ( well.. a few inches ) Boy did i ache the next day. :-)

just realized that sounds a bit patronising.

    Well done though.

Depends, sometimes the riding aspect, sometimes flow occurs to a greater degree, sometimes nothing and everything. depends on the intensity of the riding to some degree.

i would have thought for endurance riding etc carbs are more important post ride

To be fair I think different mixes of protein and carbs etc suit different people even if all are active. I guess it’s about experimenting and finding something that works. There’s nothing like a good debate though.

nice one user removed. I am in a better mood now..

    and will tell…

I had just finished a jumpy session with some other lads. They went home.

I had a thermos of coffee at the top of the hill (jump spot) and then a white thing about 6 foot high just came out of the bushes to my right and infront, and literally floated across infront at about 10mph. Do not even know what it was. I couldn’t figure it out! I watched it go throught the undergrowth and then vanish. Initally my first thought was kids in white tracksuits when i saw it at first out of the corner of my eye. Then i just looked at it in disbelief. I looked at the path it had travelled, apart from the initail clearing the undergrowth was thick with no path etc…

It was still light, just a getting dusky..

Felt quite prilivaged tbh to see it..

    Enjoy the w/e :D

+1 for a cold to hot shower. I rarely bother on short rides, but for harder rides i rate it.

if you’ve had a hard weigh training session, you need to get ideally the good stuff back into your body prett soon as i understand it. I often do not feel like making a meal when i return 1.5 hours after a workout. I can drink a protein drink within 1/2 of working out. Although i am not sure of the exact protein measurements it is quite a lot for a hard session. You are ulikely to need that sort of measurement after cycling though as it is not as intense on the muscle groups generally imho. Not only that but seomtimes you just do not feel like eating a can of something etc.

TBH for cycling recovery milk makes a lot of sense as it rehydrates superbly and has some protein and calcium, and is NICE :-)

i use finish line green wet and although it may get grimmy as stays put imo for quite a while. Have been tempted to use gt85 etc but i am too lazy to keep applying it.

after a big off and surgery / recovery etc I did a load easy flat xc type riding to get back into the saddle as soon as i could. At first even the smallest roots concerned me. Then i relaized how damn good biking is and how i had taken my stength and fitness forgranted before, which had all been gained from mtbing. It took a bit to get physical and mental strength back. Then i started riding other stuff too. :-)

although i like you all really . I would just say just because you haven’t seen one, doesn’t mean others haven’t. People understandably remember these experiences but do not often talk about them much. imho.
