update. 106gti is 16v and equal to saxo vts. Worth checking out insurance ratings for both as well as car prices as these may differ. And depending on where you live and your age etc, insurance may be quite high.

plastic hoses on fs bikes ime crease after not very long and therefore braided ones becpme essential. also much tougher when you stack. not just the lines but the connectors too.

i’ve been done. Received my statment at the weekend and they got away with £200 of electrical stuff bought online, and THEN (after) did another $2 on a US site to check the card (on a statement i haven’t received yet) No doubt more purchases would have followed. Thing is they usually do the £2 tec check first to see if the cards live so were obviuosly preety confident about the inital details they had. Eamiled CRC 3 days ago and not heard a thing. Surley they shouldn’t just ignore my email! Last used CRC in the first week of March. Surely there’s more just a small perecntage of customers affected. ( Overall for the yr maybe) .Still waiting to hear from CRC ….

in my experience raceface use a different ISIS bolt thread pitch on the newer stuff. 2010 RF ISIS bolts did not fit my 2000 RF ISIS bb. Ordered some FSA ones and all was good. Not read the whole post but maybe the bolts or not tightening correctly. So RF ISIS bb and non RF isis bolts by any chance?

got 100mm mxc’s bombers on my 1999 sunn ( very similar to a kona geo) felt a bit long so reduced them using spacers to 80mm, Feels spot on now.

just received my statement and been stung for just over £200 to one site, plus 50p ish I think to a US site. which both went through. Last order to CRC was first week of March.

I like roots Canada T’s 😉 Don’t like cotton T shirts myself as I get chilly, even just messing about. However if it’s a little cold I like to ride in a t shirt and hoodie / jeans too for messing about, local little rides. that’s fine as the hoodie stops the chill. never just a t shirt though for offroad.more often than not for longer xc I use lidl and aldi specials!

yeah agreed. i’d have thought a FR/ heavy duty AM bike with less travel would be better too. Maybe they need to ride to the downhill sections / places even before they start pushing up?

yeah, vice method makes sense. haven’t got a vice though.

charlie, been down that road with a rounded isis crank bolt. bike shops wouldn’t touch it. I couldn’t do it / didn’t want to make it worst. However I then found one that would and they drilled/ punched it out turning it bit by bit.Thought it could have been the end for my lovely retro sunn. Success! Then I ordered some new Raceface ISIS bolts for the old raceface crank and signature bb and guess what they didn’t fit. The pitch of the thread was different, although the diameter was right. Eventually ordered a pair of FSA ones out of desperation and guess what they fitted perfectly. Turns out new RF ones had a strange thread to std….bikes you gotta love them 😉

For me a band that are just as exciting as Nirvana are System of a Down . Although they have now split they have a number of brilliant albums and Serje no has some great stuff coming out.

trails don’t get lumpier, but vision is reduced. Nothing quite like flying downa bit of singletrack at night knowing you’ve got some suspension at the front if you hit something.Sometimes for example horse riders put small logs across trails to jump.i’d prefer to hit them with some suspension at night .

for old – probably an old square tubed pace or an old manitou frame.
    for new – an IF

i like my suspension. i have ridden rigid though and quiet enjoyed it on local not too challenging trails, although i wasn’t too keen on nightrides with rigid.
