The animal testers don’t have to to test on animals. They can work somewhere else in medicine right?

Once again I think you should have kept you mouth shut…

That prove how very little knowledge you have about science. Any lab will look to an alternative to animal testing due to the high costs and the numerous H&S issues.

However there is time where you can’t do without. Unless you do human testing…

In such case I’ll be happy to test on you.

Munque the colour is bling yes but I’d rather be a bling cyclist alive at home ;)

I have seen the jacket in the flesh and the soft shell seems to be the same fabric as my elocity jacket from HH that is why I am wondering :d

    Hi nick

I am commuting 15 kms each way with a messenger bag (timbuk2 I think medium). I find it ok to carry but a bit on the small side. That will depend on how much stuff you are taking with you.

I can fit, my personal belongings (BIG wallet, dairy, cell phone, train stuff, pocket knife, spork, various pills), a pump, a spare tube, and waterproof trousers and my lunch (most of the time in a container) plus
A laptop and the power supply, my weekly change of clothes (at the moment one pair of trousers, one top 4 set of underwears/socks and one t-shirt).
However I can’t really take both the full change of clothes and the laptop.

    Hope it helps.

seems no-one makes clothes for a tall person with broad shoulders – you have to be either tall and skinny or short and fat

Yup I do agree, I have to buy women or children stuff :(

I’m guessing your problem with this comes from ignorance due to not actually owning such a top.

D’oof i miss this one… I shall rather said the problem come from your ignorance about how to
    Carry a rugsac
Choose a size of clothes that fit…

Then I will only pull girls who have slightly manly ankles and think wearing body warmers is ‘cool’.

Well considering how hig is your ratio fat/body mass I thought that was already the case…

hat will be a Camelbak (other types of hydration packs are available )that you are talking about that has “pockets” in it

Well it does have pocket but they are not accessible on the fly as mostly closed with a zip.
I find a map and some chocolate bar to be very armless if I come off.

    Baggies:
    Pocket.
can be worn out of the bike when it’s hot.
    Comfy.
    Lycra
no pocket (and some off us have a rugsack so no access to the rear pocket that actually does not exit with off road clothes)
Very un-comfy I tried to wear one last week and I just couldn’t stand being in such restraining piece of clothing.

Plus as samuri said lycra are “crash-disposable”

    Paté de Fois Gras, anyone?

There is no such thing. It’s either pâté made of chunks of meat. Or foie gras in such case you do have to get the goose sick first.

BD I did try not to write the mop justice :(

Well I did suggest that booze shouldn’t be so widely available…
Then I am for one with BD and TJ. After reading carefully their post it doesn’t seems to me that they advocate the action of the guy who clearly has let the bat invade his belfry; Maybe he needs to see a therapist at some point. One of my riding friend is a vet surgeon and on a regular basis, people call his wife’s vet hospital to ask what to do with the 5 kitten found in the box on the parking of carrefour (replace the last word by asda/tesco). So maybe not an isolated case.

For all of the animal right lover on here that would like to practice the so called mod justice” on him, co you practice the same to vets that:
Castrate animal purely for human convenience?
Cut tails, nails, hears of animals for purely aesthetic convenience?

Animal will never be considered equal as human. First I think that would be wrong after all even before the society and the law, human use to hunt animal for food/entertainment. Human is meant to be at the top of the food chain then maybe you should mob-justice the cat that plays with a mouth for no other purpose than cruelty. Stomp the random stranger in the street that wear leather. Burn your butcher’s shop. And so and so.

Mop justice and violence is just not acceptable in a modern society unless is to reply to a direct threat or to stay safe. That is what actually makes us ‘human’, however I do sometimes wonders. Obviously if it was my kitten I would probably want the guys in an hospital bed, but then I would want revenge. That is why court of law exists. To make sure that justice and not revenge is done.

But hey what do I know.

    Myself I travelled widely

And they dare to say Travel broadens the mind. Not to everyone though.

As strato says. I have spend the last 4 year in UK 2.5 of which I kept moaning about coming back home in the South East of France.

Now I am back home and the only thing I want is come back to UK. Even the hilldoger, CFH, TJ djglover and other racists on here can’t spoil the overall that I meet a lot of nice people.

So I am looking for jobs in the north probably around Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Dundee.

    1998…

Was selling bike in the local decathlon. But at this time I was in the dark side. So I asked to try a mountain bike.
Bought the rockrider 740 3 month after. Since the road bike is gathering dust…

At soton I had a shower and a very comprehensive supervisor who let me store the bike change me in the cluster room. Stuff was let to dry in the cluster room too.

Here bike is lock to a pillar down the departement I have shower and I managed to get 50 € from the lab to “refurbish the shower”. Like to put a curtain and to change the shower head.

Best I have seen was of the 3 decathlon I have been working in, none had shower…

Gary in soton I use to live right by the uni so decent breakfast on the morning cooked meal for lunch and usually salad or greens for dinner

Was taking regular exercise, judo once a week, climbing once or twice a week and mtb once or twice a week.

    I was around 62.6-62.8 kg.

I started commuting 20 minutes each way. At the beginning I was hungry almost all the time. I give you I had to lighten my breakfast in order not to puck on the bike. But still fruit juice, a tea and some toast. So I had to eat more to stop being hungry. I started with healthy stuff. After a few weeks I had lost 2.5 kg so I had to eat less healthy more fatty food to try to gain some weight back…

Don’t ask me why the only way I found to stop loosing weight was:
to move 2 milles closer and eat a full bag off sweets and some brownies/cookies on the top of the meals.

Another non car user here. If you consider owning a car costs a minimum of a couple of thousand a year then that buys a lot of hire cars and taxis.

Well you are using car then…

When I was riding to work every day I was spending the fuel money on extra food, made sod all difference to my pocket

Same here but I must buy more expensive food than coffeeking, as it was actually more expensive for me.

Now that I am back in France, the baker down the Uni is becoming my best friend. I don’t use my car on week days, I barely use it on week end, I need to get the service done, plus some minor repairs from the MOT though.

Julian I don’t know to be honest I would look at the staff club on your nearsest university.

I know for sure there is a plenty of french at southampton uni, so shouldn’t be too different in the other uni.
