If I get my way some of the new official XC bits on Cannock Chase wont be rideable by these roady type MTBs with no skills weekend warriors unless they want to carry their bike back in a bag.

Wanna marry me? I am perfectly housetrained.

Yup pod, middles are cheap, but usually the casette goes as well, due to spending more time in the small cogs, then it gets expensive..

Buy only the small cog then…

I am the only one wondering about what and how do you ride?

All these fancy wheels with fancy uber light tyres and tube, would they be able to handle 6 hours or rocky trails?

    Just wondering…

For once I agree with simon.
I am not aware of the torture cases he reports and they seems a bit extreme to me though.
    I agree with Napalm too.

And the war in Irak was NEVER about freedom. Cheap oil it is.

No date on fiber shell. However the inside might be ruined…

And what TJ means is: No one will buy a helmet from a stranger.
I’ll buy a helmet second hand. but it will have to be less than a few month old and own be someone I know.

I don’t feel the need but I am not sure using something that is not from the manufacturer is a good idea (look for example at SSC pads).

don’t listen to anyone on here go and try some…
We all have a favourite pair, but it’s your feet that are going to be in the boots for several hours of walk.

I love the feel of a salomon and asolo, but it doesn’t mean you’ll like it.
Go to a shop and try as many shoes as you can. Then once you have a few models you are comfortable in, talk to a sale man.

    Hope it helps

GNAR GNAR as a point your life is on the fence so kick the fecker with whatever you have, foot, fist, bike, rock.

I shall imagine that a big wack with the bash ring should teach it manners.

I know there are “dodgy” coppers

I though you end up as a copper if you weren’t though enough to be a gangster. Uk is getting as bad as France. Is that fred said is true. When I see a cop in the street I change pavement just to be on the safe side. I think I’ll do that in uk as well.

    VTT the french mag

    Surely that is a joke…
Test are piles of poo, the best bike being the one from the brand that sponsors Sam. The quality of the writing is amazingly poor. Plus there is no such thing as a bad product.

The “whatever they are testing” will always be one of the best or one of the lightest etc etc etc…

Plus it’s clearly orientated toward XC/jey-hey… The only races that gets good coverage are the one that have subscription inside the mags…

And I could still rant a lot about that.

Bash ring user for 4 years now 22/32/bash that 2 years after all my friends (because I was too poor to buy one) and way before it became fashionable. I just really cant see the use of a big ring… Unless you use your mtb on the road. And even so it has to be flat or downhill roads.
    Steep Rock/tech playground = double + Bash
Non steep non tech playground (à la lordswood) = SS (in my opinion)
Inbetween the two you are not going to be on the big ring anyway. Plus as brant say (crap I am going to need a mouthwash for that) shorter chains is much nicer.
To be honest I would only see the use of the big ring on a DH bike…

I got UST about (omg) 6 years ago. Basically the budget wheels from mavic at the time (crossroc) where tubless. Ran them with tube for about 18-20 month until I needed a new tyre and then gave tubless a go. After several puncture, and a poped out rim I decided that it was not worth it.
I was thinking of giving tubless a new try but GF thread put me off.

For off road nothing will work better than a tube.
