Do you honestly believe the Police want a riot? []

Well isn’t it what coppers like? To do kick the shit out of people when they are sure they have the superiority?

I’d like to see them go face to face with protesters like men, without gear or tears gases or water canon

Peregrine sounds to me you are talking about coppers here 😉

    MP’s salary in France (gross)
    6.952,91 €
They can claim 6.278 per month in expenses, have a bursary of 8.949€ per month to hire someone and have free access to the whole railway network in 1st class and free taxis in Paris…

Minimum wage is under 1000€ per month (not gross but before taxes). For example I don’t even earn 1800€ per month, and that is having the highest qualification one can have.

From recent experience though, if a group of loud English people walk into a pub in Wales and act like hooray henrys then they are likely to incur some hostility.

That appears to be working is you change wales for Nice, Spain, Poland or any other low cost destination.

Discs are a nice low maintenance option on a commuter but certainly not essential.

It is here were road are extremly slipery when wet, when people drive like master poo-heads, when they drive even worst when it rains and when they think they own the road because they have the last german 4×4/berline/sportcar etc etc…
I really am not looking forward to the film festival to be honest…

why do you want discs for commuting?

    Because I WANT…
Better stopping power, better modulation, better when road is covered in crap, better when it’s wet etc etc

Hi I haven’t read any of the previous so apologies if I repeat the obvious.
I am finishing the ‘minor corrections’ of my thesis, had my viva in december (molecular modelling).

It’s a great experience, it can be hard, depressing, frankly horrible but looking back to it I think it was the best that happened to me (mainly because it got me out of the 100km radius I lived in).

Make sure you really are motivated. You don’t have to end up in the academia. You won’t unlearn what you already know. Just add more skills to your CV.

Be prepared to deal with an awfull lot of stress and be able to work 12 hours a day 7 days a week

If you don’t vote, or worse spoil your paper

Well that is two different things. You don’t vote you don’t have your word. You spoil your paper you have your word to say. Because you made the effort to find 5 minutes to go to the voting poll.

    Hi elsa
I don’t knwo where you are driving in the UK, but I would consider using the ferry beetween newhaven and dieppe for several reason.
    It’s dead cheap.
It’s just long enough for a nice break in your driving.
Dieppe is the closest beach to Paris.
Dieppe is a very very nice town to have a journey break too.
It’s dead easy to go to paris via Dieppe and Rouen

Diesel cost is just under 1€ at the moment in the riviera.
As for toll you can use mappy or via michelin.

    Hope it helps.

    Honest 😉

Well I am not too pride to admit that I had to check google to know what a oka tree was or a hare.

I would recognise both of them, but I had no idea about what the english word was… Time for some courses me think.

    34lbs

Well that is the weight of my bike so my guess is you really need to build on your fitness. I know the rule of STW is to work on the skills a card can buy 😉 but hey hoo that is not heavy for a mountain bike.
As said just change your tyres.
