In my previous lab, we reach the point where for the majority of us, english wasn’t the first language.
    3 french
    1 from sri lanka
    1 german
5 english, 2 of them being first generation immigrant (iran and india)
    2 italian
    1 american
    1 austrian

I shall say that the ethnic minority in the chemical department was english white straight people.

The drop test here is to lift your bike up to 1 m (3 foot 😉 ) and drop it. Shouldn’t bounce either.
But it’s just a hint on how the bike should be set up 😉

(presumably it was in big quantities but still…

Looks more tax dodging than bomb making to me.
If I was to run a undeclared brownie business I too will have a lot of sugar ;).

Anyway back to topic once again this is what happen when you hire a thug. And as for beating someone because he insults you it’s illegal.
In the case of policemen (all in my opinion) **** is more a rather accurate description than an insult.
Plus as pointed above what about “professionalism”?

But again most women don’t want big biceps, or to spend a reasonable amount of time in the gym.

Works for mens too. and kit issue it’s not only a matter of being a women.
Try being short/skinny with no beer belly…

I’m only 9 stone, and as weak as a kitten.

Your problem is your riding not your weight 😉

Will someone tell him the analogy about being in the hole, you know, digging, shovels, all that kind of stuff. It’s all getting very predictable.

    Sorry 🙁

More seriously I can really think a change of attitude would encourage more women to ride.

Until I came over to UK I never rode with a girl in France. It might be due to the peculiar topologie of were I live though.

However I am not too bothered about who I ride with to be honest. But i am not a huge fan of the mens only (actually I am not a huge fan of bloke full stops, as they always end up speaking about fast cars, football or women). When I use to do night riding, it was bloke only ride, but we usually did not talk to much outside of biking topics, just ride crash and banter about past crashes. On the longer rides with “less local people” I tend not to talk much (it’s not like some very loud poster on here would let space for any other one to speak though 😉 ) but when I do I do it to men and women. I try not to give advice unless asked for whether it’s for men or women. I try to be courteous to anyone, always have a nice word for the one at the end of a group (unless it’s said poster, as he wouldn’t hear it anyway). I try to be helpful as possible to anyone, men or women and give a hand in riding, felting bikes and so and so. As for flirting during rides I can’t really see any women being interested in a boyish featured rider covered in crap (only time I spoke to a girl during a race was to ask where did she got her pink bike not very appealing). So i usually have flirty chat as I know I won’t push thing further. Mind you I know from experience men aren’t bothered by the covered in crap bit.

On the other hand I can perfectly understand someone want to ride with it’s own gender only. May they be men or women. We as human being are very influenced by our surrounding. While in UK, I lost the habit to do SFBism. Now that I am back to France and my co-worker speaks about women a lot I have start looking at women in the train a bit more and sadly talk about it :(. It’s the same in rides, it is naive to believe, men or women do not behave differently in mix gender environment as they do in men/women only groups.
Depending on the wo/men it’s a good thing to get into a gender specific environment to let the pressure goes…

    Just my 2p…

No, if directed by the police to do something, you do it.

Nice wait until some policemen ask you ot knee on the ground to pull your trousers down and decided to shove some hubcaps in your crack.

I am sure you’ll have great pleasure to do it then.

Well I was indeed looking for natural trail.
It will be in edinburgh. And as I said I really can use the train as I will have to book in advance (not possible I am in france) and I might no be able to take my bike with me or even to understand the british pricing ticket (I know I know I am pants).

Yes I do but I am not acting on the proof of only this video. It’s because of the last 10 years of constant abuse of the police towards the public.

however around trying to write my PhD getting out for a 1 or 2 hours each day just isn’t always possible.

I just wish you all the very best with that. I was here not so long ago so I really know how much of stress the 12-14 hours a day 7 days a week produce.
On the training side just try to ride twice 20 mintue a day even on the road it really does help.

    What’s the PhD on?

Doesn’t bother me on the MTB.
However, since I have removed the gears on my road bike, I find that a nice change.

If I had a car crash I would call the paramedic/firemen as it make more sense. But i think there is no point to argue with you on that as
My mind is made up and so is yours, so lets agree to disagree

    TimP I actually mean it.
I have read a book about police brutalities, a weekly independent news paper report every week police brutalities.
An acquaintance of me went into the police force and after the first BBQ where he was telling us how he got someone in the van and bully him we decided not to invite him anymore.
List go on and on and on. Now I even change side of the street when I see a copper.
I think they are thugs that deserve no compassion. And the worst part, is the fact that state and government usually cover that up.

Well a few years back the FN (rasist political party in France) use to have a campain about journalism
‘If you see a journalist hit him. If you don’t know why he knows”
Maybe we should have the same approach with the feckers in uniform.
‘If you see one in the street kick the shit out of the bastard he’ll know why’.
Disgusting bunch of subhuman being facist ****. Never trust a cop and if you see one run away.

hey I have been using them for 5 years now. Best tyres for XC around here. Wouldn’t recommend them for Extreme stuff or Free ride. But over all very good as far as you don’t do crazy stuff

even pro DH’ers who use clips 90% of the time admit to being more confident on flat pedals when the goings tough or when they’r not raceing.

Who GNAR GNAR…? You know he’s not for real.
I went for a ride with barel and he uses SPD for everyday’s ride. So does NV and ACS apparently…
