kona are very good, so is race face an royal (size is a bit odd though you need to be fat to fill them). Fox size very big.

Plenty of baggies at your price range on CRC specially in last yar or 2 years ago range…

Agree with the comment of lycra under baggies, no point really.

Most of us presumably didn’t wear helmets when we were small (I’m 30, and I am absolutely sure that neither me nor any of my friends did until mid-teens anyway). We survived, I know no-one who was severely injured in a bike accident as a child and everyone had falls and got scuffed and bashed occasionally. All it boils down to is, you can’t say with certainty that the accident would really have been any worse without the helmet.

Maybe we didn’t ride the way we are taking our kids to ride? I remember as kid I use to ride only to the park, on grass.

No dawg are so last year, plus apparently the meta5.5 works much better but sushh 😉
Well I kinda did it. I was with François his familly and a couple of friends on the race. Not riding, more like sunbathing and pootling in the river to cheer people up and give them water. I am in no condition to ride the transvé to be honest. Plus I have enormous problems with my bikes at the moment 🙁

well one is said claire and the other clare that’s easy 😉 but I am not sure it helps 😀

Although I do find it entertaining that most French people pronounce Clare very differently to Claire.

That’s because it’s not the same my lovely 😉

    GRRRRRRRRRRRR people it’s CLARE not CLAIRE… 😉

Have a break, rest yourself and find slower riding buddies 😉
From what I can see it’s no riding the problem, it’s that you are asking yourself too much. No one can ride at 100 % all the time. I left France being average in riding and now I am back being crap, never mind I ride a little bit more on my own, enjoy going slower and that’s it.
As said your bike and the trail will never change… So why getting stressed out.

Well I would suggest something a little more bouncy though 😉

To be fair trout for a helmet light, 600real lumens is in my opinion plenty enough.
I would be working on a road friendly mode (flashing), a way to dissipate the heat more efficiently and maybe something enabling to change the batteries on the fly/ under a tent without the use of a tool.
If you want help with that I’ll be more than happy to provide you with ideas crap drawing for nothing (that the proper engih for nowt 😉 ).

    Best of luck

26 -28 MPH average in a crit means you really want to be looking at getting every advantage you can i.e lycra.

    PMSL

do you really think they made a bad choice of clothing to do 50-80 miles in the sun?

    One word: TRADITION.

Yes I use baggies everywhere, never had a problem with them, I have stopped trying to make my point, don’t like lycra I thing they are neither practical nor comfortable.
If you like them, wear them, if you don’t then don’t…
Oh and peak are all about function all about it…

One other option would be to use the train. It’s a tad more expensive (I think it’s 130€ for the car only) but it’s much more convenient as you can drop it the day before, spend a day in paris, train/fly to somewhere enjoy one day and then take your car one day after it arrives.

The awful when wet for baggies is a good point.

Well most of baggies design fro commuting are made of very quick drying material. So when mine is wet, I chuck it on a rad or in the cluster room and it’ way dry before lunch.
If it bother you, I use the “ebay camo gortex” cut trousers technique.

I wouldn’t even think of driving this route outside of motorway. Unless it’s a road trip with plenty of overnight stays. Contrary to what people have said, A road ‘nationales’ are not all dual carriageway, can be fairly busy, plus you’ll be going trough a lot of town (speed limit 50km/h) and can even get stuck in traffic jams.if you want to enjoy you could take motorway to grenoble and then la route napoléon to down south and then la corniche d’or up to saint tropez.
Another very important point to consider DO NOT i repeat DO NOT drive during the week end from mid june to end of august. And I am not taking the piss.
If you want to plan your route I advice you to use mappy.com and to have a look on the “bison futé” web site.
If you need any help just shout.

Silver pigeon not really. I do all day long rides on a baggy and they work just fine. Obviously it’s a MTB baggy not a asda george one, but still. You can putt stuff like bars in your pocket for easy access or a map so you don’t have to remove/unload your rugsag.

But I must say that some people should not be allowed to wear lycra (that is for the children indeed).

Oh I see she is a real girl, who has just started a new job as train staff. So I am not really stalking her, but at the moment due to strikes, the number of train I can take is fairly small and given her location I am likely to see her again gosh I dosound very pervy 🙁

i do hope that you lot know of the benifits of peakless helmets and shaving legs and bar ends dont you ?? and no its not for looks

    Is it not…?
peakless helmet no benefit over peak helmet as peak give you some shade from the sun and some cover from the mud when it’s wet. Shaving legs, unless you are a professionnal that get massages or you are married to mrsflash I can’t really it making you faster… 😉
