I use a Neoguard, not great for your forks in really bad conditions but very effective.

I’m not hat fussed about the back just keeping it ou of my eyes.

I thought a fair chunk of the saving was not paying VAT. But second-hand bikes don’t attract VAT in the first place?

Looking at it the business saves on the VAT the individual saves against PAYE contributions. But I’m guessing the VAT would still be a sticking point.

I thought evans would allow you to add to the voucher if you wanted…

They certainly have in he past, I did it myself but it seems they won’t any longer!

Like many folk who use the CycleScheme the bike would be used for extra curricula activity, in this instance it’s a desire to hammer some single track.

Very true, I’ve spoke to Evans & CRC and both won’t go above the £1k voucher value, so it’s the range available in that bracket that’s the issue.

It’s Alan nice to save a bit more dough though 🙂

If anyone know of any shops in the northwest would be a brilliant result 😀

Pitches used to be worth quite a bit as they had a really good reputation for being a great all-rounder but I think that these days the problem with them is the 1 1/8″ head tube – anyone wanting a beefy do-it-all bike is likely to want decent forks on it and it’s getting tougher and tougher to find them with straight steerers.

Additionally, the Pitch is known to be a big bike, such that even at 6′ I’m riding a Medium, so I’d say the market for a Large will be smaller.

FWIW, bought my 2011 Pitch Pro just over a year ago for £875, completely standard and hardly used.

It is a great all rounder, I had a Norco Sight 3 SE ’12 which was an awesome bike, but a trip to the shop meant I was blasting round on my mates Pitch and within a week I’d sold it!!! Bought built an loved the pitch ever since, can’t explain the need for a BFe it’s just there!!!

I think you’re right the way forward is to split the bike down.

The pitch is a great bike, love it but been itching fora BFe for a good while.

Anyone got any comparisons between the two? Save me from making a massive mistake!

It has old-fashioned wheels you see.

Old Skool is the future, mark my words 🙂

Technically I’m going even older with a Cotic haha

It’s almost not worth selling, at least not as a bike, maybe best as parts.

    Loads of messing about though!

It’s making me think I should have called you before building this one haha

They are some seriously good bikes and in to the multiples of grands a few years prior to selling, I’m quite surprised.

    I honestly was thinking £1,100-£1,200 🙁

    Very-Very Cheap!!!

I take it I need to replace the rear hub rather than alter it with the XD Driver, sorry still learning the whole DIY maintenance shenanigans.

Yes and no. Yes, in that it can go on a 135mm hub. No, in that you need a specific freehub body, called an XD driver.

Nightmare, I was blissfully unaware of that, I’m glad I asked!

I was thinking about going X01 in the new year on my 2011 Pitch. Reading some of the comments in this thread I’m wondering about the rear hub. My understanding was that the casette would sit on a standard 135mm hub.

    Is that not the case?

I thought it would be a bit of a problem!

Wrong time of the year to be chucking another £300-400 into the mix.

Are there any extensions on th market?

When you say sluggish is that because the smaller size will change the angle the bike pivots?

Not on this occasion it’s just the frame.

    I know, over kill!

Just liked the look of 203mm, unecessary buy purely aesthetic.

Already have elixir 5s, I have a pretty much custom pitch comp 2011. My first custom build, I’ll no doubt decide the extra weight is silly but for now I kinda like em.

So with IS its starts with thd 160mm then its plus 20mm per bracket until you achieve 203mm?

    jskiffin

I ccan’t believe its so hard to buy tge right bracket haha

Should have stuck with the old brakes!

Want the buggers on now though!

Bought the braided hoses and what not as well. Plus I bought the 203mm rotors from superstar which I like quite a lot, mostly because they look pointlessly cool.

Ah right, I never knew that!

Fairly new to the customisation game, thanks for the heads up Xiphon.

Those brakes are exactly what I bought.

They’re single calipers (I think….haha), a lest I assume that’s what the mono dictates. I may be totally wrong on that front though.

Cheers for the advice though 🙂
