Get some 10-14mm ali bmx spacers they are 2.5mm thick. File them down to fit your dropouts. Sorted, this fixed my Ali framed sscx as that would defo snap.

Another vote for the rapha essentials case. That holds:

    Chain tool
    Allen tool
    Tyre levers
    Co2 inflator and cartridges
    Spoke key
    Spare brake pads
    Puncture kits

In the opposite pocket I have a mini pump and a tube and maybe a bar or gel etc, middle pocket has arms warmers and or gillet depending on conditions. Works well for me!

Stem looks fine to me in the add. Price is fair too, as said above, when its received then refund not before. Sounds like you are being reasonable.

Not uncommon, took my nice fancy carbon forks to a local shop as I didn’t have a 1.5 race tool and 1 hour and three people later they gave up. Did it myself in 10 secons with some plastic drain pipe, pfft.

Sounds like the android version is a nightmare! Have it on my ipad and iPhone with no such messages, good luck and take a back up of your phone!!!!!

If its anything like the iPhone, its an exchange account and takes seconds to setup with no scary features…..

1/163, most are random routes or long ones, I’m far to slow otherwise!

Not very helpful but have a look at those fat bontrager ones (can’t remeber what they are called!). Totally agree about the Conti ones, have 2.4 xkings on mine and unless bone dry, they are useless. They will be heading to the bin very soon …

Nice and I like the chain, although it did look rusty at first glance… Would love to have blast on one them round my local trails.

As posted above, you seem chuffed with it and that is all that matters 🙂

I like posts like this, know what you mean and it’s great that we all share that enjoyment of riding bikes.

I planned to ride the SDW yesterday, got the train to Winchester at 5:40 and managed only 73 miles bailing when I got to my house near Brighton. The rain was fine, nice and warm but the wet chalk on a singlespeed is not fun. None of the climbs were do able as you span out in the slippy stuff. Ah well bring on the crisp winter days for the next dry trail days 🙂

Wow that is nice. I like black bikes with extra black on top 🙂

Ah the typical post of “think what it would be like when he/she/you is old, what will people say!”

Bored! Although it would be odd if she grew a beard I agree.

Save yourself some dosh and have a look at Canyon roadlite al 105 or apex or even more and the radon r1.0 full 105. These bikes are easily as god and way better speced than most 1k bikes from main brands. Geometry is sorted too.

I’d take the salsa over the swift any day, the ebb versus the swinger dropouts for a start. Both pretty heavy but the salsa is very comfy.

    Where you going?

I am used to people sticking up for shops but I guess since this isn’t the case so far, they are really that bad. Will avoid!

Shame the cable broke, should have singlespeeded it! Hopefully a return attempt will happen soon. On a side note, isnt the challenge to do it unsupported using the many public taps?

Pretty much any Devon or Pembrokeshire costal route. Many hours can be lost as St Brides Pembrokshire with great pubs scattered about to make it better 🙂

    Tim,

Yep it needs replacing, and its the whole unit probably (only very few can or are worth replacing just the bearings).

Shimano xt external are about £30 and worth it. Hope look fancy and have similar bearings, £100 one is probably ceramic bearings which last a little longer.

Tool is £10 and its an incredibly simple job to replace.

Give me a shout if you need a hand.

Agree with above, running then on my 29er and in the dry fine but the wet, well forget it they are almost the worst tyres I have ever used. That goes for cheap and black chilli, only staying on as I can’t be arsed taking them off and it’s dry woo!

Pet Porte here, brilliant and still going strong. As with others keeps the local bully’s out and as we lock our cats in at night, the night mode is brilliant (auto locks the flap when it’s dark and you set the levels so we do before dusk/ after dawn so there is less wildlife kill).

The number of bows, cross bows, slingshots, spears etc i made when younger was truly epic! Never shot anyone or anything. Had many knives even at 10 and again only cut myself.

Hopefully I’m not an exception to the rule and your neighbours kid will be fine.

Pah 680 for me is wide, wouldn’t fit through the tree in my fave Singletrack if any wider! As wwaswas said above, our trails are nice and narrow. Along with this and the dropper post post, I think I may be stuck in my old school ways (and I’m on a SS 29er so what des that mean? Oh and my beard is rocking at the moment).

I love my high saddle and never drop it, I know I’m having fun when I have my chest on the saddle going down a hill! Yes it’s not the fastest but that doesn’t make it unenjoyable!

Come on Norway! Very disappointed by the UK vote, we didn’t even give them a single point!
