Muggomaguc, not sure, depends on work, I may drive or go straight there so best not rely on me other than being there for 8!

We have put up a post to the pictures we took (not many as we all raced and Matt Carr was on the mic the whole day) but also to as many professional photo galleries we could find. If you know of more let me know and I’ll update it. Click to Open

    The results are there too

Im going to ride stanmer tomorrow and if there is interest, would take people round the course again. Good for those who couldn’t do it or want to ride it when it’s quiet! Will get to stanmer for around 8pm so would need lights. let me know via twitter otb_overthebar or FaceBook

Don’t think I can be bothered to clean mine for tomorrow, it’ll only get muddy again.

    Good point about the hanky

TimP I have a singlespeed CX bike you can borrow tomorrow for a lap since yours was so terribly lost after being eaten by the dog, it has 35mm tyres on it too 🙂

Agreed Lycra and accessories are the real debate, shall I wear all black or full on mixed brand clashing colour… And to take the bar mounted cup holder or not? Now that really is the question that need to be answered.

Great ride, we had well over 20 people and other groups were out too. Very slippy just the way I like it, really looking forward to it now. Hope my guiding was up to scratch, we only lost Matt a few times….

Agree with the tyre choice, black ones are the best (unless you have some tan walled turquoise 90’s ones, they rule over everything).

    Loads of Q’s to answer!

Paceman, yes we will be at the entrance by about 7pmish

MYTI Course was designed by the local trail fairies 🙂 wwaswas says it all, not as simple as it at first seems

C_klein87 we all love that bit too, maybe in the next years? Good to have some variety and there are some cracking new bits in it this year too.

See you Thursday! Even I find it tricky to get the right cut through and I’ve ridden it loads.

Is it the same as 2011, where it’s up the field before heading into the woods onto the fire road, but going up and left instead of right and back down?

Not quite, you go up the field and into the first track in the left, at the top of that, turn right, then down at the first decent, left at the bottom , then left on to the main track and up to the beginning of the normal final decent. Clear enough :-). If not come along Thursday as I’ll be showing people round as part of the Velo Cafe ride.

As requested the route is also now on Garmin Connect, I’ve updated the article with the link. I know loads of people have been out enjoying it, even in this downpour! : overthebarblog.com

There wasn’t anyone there last night, just people setting up for the festival. Stanmer was running beautifully too.

Right the course has been finalised! I rode it tonight with the designer and we have it up on our blog and FaceBook overthebarblog.com

Also I’ll be helping out with the Velo Cafe MTB ride next Thursday where we will go and ride the course. They meet at 6:30pm at the Cafe riding out at 6:45pm.

Oh there is a link to our strava where you can download the course. Enjoy, it’s a good one this year 🙂

Rode the course a few times on Tuesday and last week too. It’s tight and compact with lots of good and new single track. Look out for the GPS route going up soon (anyone follwng me may get a glimpse early :)).

May try and do a flying lap Sunday but looks like sub 30 min lap for the fast guys.

I’ll post up on our blog once I’ve done it and have the permission to do so: overthebarblog.com but we do have a sneak peak of the new mug up there already!

Just don’t use them or ditch the bag, you don’t need all that stuff anyway.

Jtek shifter works brilliantly and does a nexus 8 as well as the alfine. HTH

I’ve had both, the Salsa was by far a better frame in quality and ride. Both are pretty hefty but for what you are after I guess that not too important. Please bear in mind both if mine were several years ago so if the frames have changed a bunch, this may no longer apply.

The swinger dropouts were soooooooooo much better than the ebb. I have a niner now with an ebb and even that isn’t as good and they are supposed to be the better ones.

Had one and have a one9 still (had both for a bit)

Rides great, light, cheap (for a niner) and rides great (yep needs to be there twice).

You can also run a the plug 2 with a dynamo so can run a Revo (or any other dynamo light) and have a USB charger too. Very neat, hides in the steerer. Although I don’t think you can charge and run the light. But then that’s what days are for.

Just fitted a silent vent axia one from screwfix, now I can hear myself think while having a bath. Defo worth it and more than makes up for its slightly asthmatic air flow rate.

Timber, good work however if your mondeo happened to be an estate, I would probably have said yes.

    Frame was about £250 iirc

I built one up from a frame with second hand parts of here and eBay. Try the euro shops, lots of frames there cheap and lots of cheap tandem bits. For example my new truvativ tandem chainset front and rear with both bb cost about £130

Here it was before I sold it.

Every saddle I have owned over the past 10 years has a cut away, and as for belt drives, you are looking in the wrong place, billions of them out there just probably not where you are.

On Wednesday night, solo night ride on my single speed cyclocross bike, had 2 :(. It’s very lonely changing tubes and then fixing a tube in the dark miles from home. The woods are scary too.

DrP, as a fellow SDW rider (I live in Shoreham) I would vouch for a 32:18. It’s pretty much perfect for round here and copes with all but the worst chalk and steepest bits as well as being the sweet spot gear for Stanmer.

Normally yes but on holiday! Woooo! Why am I on singletrack and not riding my bike? Best fix that, time for a ride!

I agree, hate them and will hit mine with an axe very soon. Just wish there was an equivalent rim out there that even comes close the the weight. But then I’ll take a few gramms not to be stuck 50miles from home in winter with cold hands and unable to put a tube in should the sidewalls get slashed. Hate them hate them hate them hate them (get the idea?).

Sks bluemethals, they are full length with nice flaps front and rear (snigger) and are matt black 🙂

No belt loops so they fall down a lot. Other than that they are ok. You can sort of thread a belt through the back if them. Going to sew some on.

The bmx spacers have an external extrusion that go into the dropouts. If its strong enough for bmx it’s strong enough for Sscx!
