true nick but Armstrong has never failed a drug test has he yet he managed to beat a field made up entirely of drug cheats. probleme is even when peopel test clean doubts are still raised sadly[/quote]

Sadly, that's not exactly true. Armstrong has failed two drug tests in the past, but they're swept under the rug IIRC it was around 91-92. That and his connections with Dr Ferrari.

Last time I came off at Manchester I broke four ribs and fecked the ligaments in my shoulder, I was doing 80km at the time in the last 3 laps of an scratch race as another rider took out my front wheel.

Alternatively have a Clif bar with the boys at Highland Cycles, they may even make you a cuppa.

Rocpool and Kingsmill hotel are good, I know the head chefs at both restaurants so I may be a bit biased.

    Veloce/Mirage/Centaur is 111mm Campag

    Chorus/Record is 102mm Campag

Campag and Shimano tapers don't mix well, you can botch it if you want.

Another vote for HQ Fibre, Mike replaced a spoke in my Tri spokes and I've raced on them for a year and have no concerns. I've had Campag Boras fixed when hitting a pot hole at speed.

I raced in Morzine on a Giant XTC with Mono Minis without to many issues or scares, although I did start to get twitchy at 105kph on some of the descents.

Put the BB tool in a vice and use the frame as leverage.

Nice, get yourself a chainstay protector and some heli tape on the seat stay. You'll get chain slap up there.

It shouldn't do that, is there a missing spacer? How old is it and does it have the stupid oversize BB bearings a la Cannondale?

Mavic Cross thingys, Shimano XT or Crank Bros Iodines. I'm around 105kgs when loaded up and haven't trashed any of them.

Will you want to go tubeless? if so make sure what you buy is tubeless 'ready' not just 'compatible'

I went over to Blu Ray two years ago with a combo machine that played HD and Blu Ray. What I found was the Blu Ray didn't play R1 discs if it's a R2 machine, that was a problem as 40% of my collection was R1. It also died so I got a standalone Blu Ray, to start with I didn't really notice a difference until I was at a mates house and watched a normal DVD. It was like going from video to DVD. My set up is run the audio via Coaxial to the amp and picture via HDMI to the TV. I also get my films from Lovefilm, it was a choice of stop buying DVDs or buy a bigger house(collection stands at 1800ish DVDs)

Pros: Better sound and picture quality, interactive menu
    Cons: Region encoded.

Nice one… The Seca's pretty much the only light I've seen where it's actually true that beam pattern's more important than just having loads of power, fantastic bit of kit.

I've found the same with Niterider, my Pro 600 out performs my Hope Vision 4

You can bonk four times before your body says STOP. I used to go Bonk training where you ride between bonk 2 and 3.

I find that injecting a pint or two leaves me feeling fantastic for about a week or so. Best to do two days before an event and you'll be ripping it up.

I've been using Eggbeaters since 2001 and never had an issue, only had my first pair serviced last year. I always giggle when I hear people say how sh!te they are, I only get to do about 12-18k a year on them. So you lot musn't look after your kit, how often do you change your bikes?

My Girlfriend is a nurse and one of her patients is paralyzed from the waist down from getting it wrong at Innerleithen. I know how close I've been to 'getting it wrong' on quick a few occasions, but I've lived my life in a 'live fast, die young' attitude.

IIRC the debt wasn't Man Us but the Glazers on the money they had to borrow to buy Man U, then they transferred the debt on to Man U.

Unless it's a Cervelo where you have to glue in an insert and then add the SFW.

I didn't know about that, but the insert is presumably to stop the SFN from breaking the steerer….?

Cervelo do it to keep the weight down, the insert and SFN weigh less than an expanding one.

Obviously completely different for a carbon steerer.

starfangles + carbon steerer = bad idea

The Pedros one is great, fit SFW to it and slide over forks and then leather with big mallet.

When the scratch group comes past, be prepared to lift the pace around 5mph to hang on to the back of the bunch.

Ride in the top 20 and contribute to the working of the group, it makes it easier until you can learn how to 'glass crank' and hide 😉

Ride smoothly and don't kick through. If you can talk by the end then you haven't tried hard enough. Check out the circuit before hand so you know when and where people will attack. More often then not its about 50m from the crest of the climbs or just before twisty technical sections. Working your way up the bunch is often harder than attacking.

ABIDE BY THE RULES OF THE ROAD, not only will you stand a chance of being DQ'd there is the possibility that you'll endanger the other riders around you.

Where's the event and what circuit is it on?

Given my height and weight I fall in the obese catagory, I love it when people point and laugh just before I procede to rip their legs off on the climbs and then I wait for them so I can terrorise them on the descent. 😀
