Been there, tried it and divorced twice. Get out now while the going is good, the longer you wait without compromise will breed animosity. You said it yourself she is getting what she wants so why change but what do you get from this relationship?

You’re so 2008, it was used, tried by BC and the AIS and then was banned.

You know what. In terms of law I can’t. However IMO and that of many others the world over it was morally wrong. 600 people died directly as a result of Thatchers orders to sink the Belgrano and another what – couple of thousand was it?? died as a result of the failure to find a peaceful solution.

Now there are war crimes an war crimes and we must remember both the numbers and the context but I am convinced that the Belgrano was running away thus sinking it with superior tech while it is running away is a crime. Those 600 men need not have died

However I did not have to make that decision and hindsight is 20/20. But sinking an obsolete ship that is little threat using superior tech while that ship is running away stinks to me and I want no part of it

How about Blair/Brown and the little Iraq affair? WMD’s anyone or a trip to Guantanamo Bay?

If Thatcher and the Tories were so bad how did they remain in power till 1997?

Isn’t it the electorate that decides how bad the government is, or was it a case that the unemployed weren’t allowed to vote?

I went for a fresh install from Vista to W7 and it’s a huge improvement. It’s a Dell Inspiron 1520 with 1gb of ram and runs smoothly and quick.

Most old school Italian frames from the 80's were fully chromed and then they masked off the area they wanted to keep chromed and painted the rest.

Hard resetting your iPhone can speed it up for a while. Here’s how to do it:

    * Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time, hold both for about 5 seconds
    * Ignore the typical ‘Slide to power off message’ and continue holding both buttons until the iPhone shuts itself off
    * When your iPhone 3G resets itself you can stop holding the buttons, it takes about 10 seconds to hard reset the iPhone

Sure is, I bought some Green Fizz at the Bike Chain in Edinburgh and it cost me £9!!!! but it's only £6 for the same stuff at wiggle. Won't be supporting my LBS at those prices.

Going up the inside is suicide.

That's a sweeping generalisation. You know nothing about my commute so why is it 'suicide'?

How often do you check your left wing mirror? I'm guilty on not checking it enough or forgetting to when pulling away from lights.

I generally wait and move when the lights change. I'm in no rush to get squished by a car/truck/taxi and just because no one is indicating that doesn't mean that they won't turn left.

I can get as much out of my 2.3T SAAB Auto as I did in my 911. A simple tap on the accelerator and the auto drops a a gear and takes off. I got an auto because I was doing heavy mileage (30k-40k) a year so it made sense, that and I'm lazy 😉

On the trail you meet roots, earth and stone.

On the road you asphalt is completely unforgiving, there is also stone (kerbs) and of course its not just a mistake that you make that could cost you dear……your life is literally in everyones hands who passes you…

Paris-Roubaix 😉 280km in roughly 6:30hrs. I've ridden it four times, twice as a pro and twice the amateur version. It makes all the mountain bike races I've ridden seem a piece of p!ss, ok I've not solo'd a 24 but then the Bordeaux-Paris isn't easy either.

Nah, you're wrong there. The most pressure I've ever felt under has been when racing (not bikes) even though it's really pretty inconsequential to my life compared to proper difficult real
    life situations.

Pressure is something we put on ourselves. No one can actually put you under pressure it's just the way you react to it which is why some are better at dealing with it than others.

    +1

The pressure of bike racing has left me wanting to suck a gun barrel and pull the trigger at times.

They are ok in a straight line, climbing, descending and cornering at speed can be sketchy and they whip a bit when doing a seated acceleration. But for a plastic bike the are alright VFM.

You generally get an idea of which tactic will work, depending on the course. If it's a pan flat course then you'll have to make the break or go with a break and hope you're the best sprinter in the group. If it's a hilly, twisty course then a lone break away may work. I've won my fair share of races from either tactics, if you race in Belgium then it's attack, attack, attack.

Its just a totally unsustainable amount they get paid, and the clubs going bust are proof of that. And because they are "football clubs", they are allowed to run up massive debts, which ultimately will cost everyone in the end. And because they are football clubs, the finance industry allows it. Again reinforcing my mass psychosis theory! It would be great if every struggling business was allowed limitless finance whilst the directors were all alllowed to take limitless salaries, but in the real world people have to be realistic. Im not closed to the fact that someone could educate me as to the how the whole thing works, Ive just never managed to be persuaded that there is anything good about football at all. I can see the benefit of guys playing footie for a laugh or five a sides to keep fit, but the whole club football thing escapes me.

What is the difference with a movie star getting paid £20M for a film, or the Rolling stones getting paid to perform at a festival, Lance Armstrong or Steve Peat getting paid to give a talk at an evening dinner? They are entertainers and they get paid to entertain.

I use Mallet 2's, ok not cheap but I like to ride clipped in and better than Shimano DX's and about 85% of the riders at Fort William were on Mallets so I can't be that wrong.

Every sport has characters and needs characters, who can remember Ille Nastase, Jimmy Connors and John Mcenroe from Tennis? Its about having fun and enjoying yourself, I spent 14yrs riding as a pro It wasn't done for the money, I did it because I had fun and if I messed around and made people laugh or smile then job done. Sports men and women are performers and the public want to be entertained. If you were at FW and heard the cheers when Cedric came down then he did his job.
