Given the choice then I'd agree with Stoner.

Spent 4 years in Worcestershire and we are desperate to move back there from Surrey.

Definitely go with something south of Worcester round Evesham/Pershore way.

You need to block the cold water feed from the main tank into the hot water system.

I bought a pair of conical bungs from B&Q or Homebase to do mine.

    2 mins 48 seconds?

Shame they can't put all that effort into earning a real wage.

    This comment made me laugh…

Why do they never give the white jersey to French riders?

Because at the award ceremony they instinctively tie it to a big stick and wave it aloft

Took me a couple of looks to get that one. Must be running slow this morning. 😳 😀

Many years ago we lived in Milton Keynes, where Amway had it's main distribution centre, a mate at work invited me and Mrsjova to a 'life-changing' event. Being newly married with a mortgage, young baby and just out of the Army we were up for anything that promised extra money for little effort.

It was an Amway presentation and we lasted about an hour, mainly out of loyalty to a mate, but it had taken about 10 minutes to realise you were working for other people's benefit without any guarantee of payback.

He was so convinced that he was going to make a fortune from it that he quit his well paid job and decided to live off the Amway income.

Next thing I heard, about 18 months later, was a copy of his CV landed on my desk when we were recruiting engineers. The intervening period was shown as 'Travelling the world'. I invited him for interview as he had skills we could use but I never heard back from him.

Funny sort of suspension ❗ as he appears to have been suspended only from The One Show but can do other work for the BBC. So he won't lose any money either if he finds he's suddenly available for other work.

What ever you do just don't live in Bellfields or Park Barn (nearest residential area to BOC/Research Park). You'll lose your bike to a local scroat within a week if you do

*disclaimer* These areas may have cleaned up their act as i am going back a couple of years, but i doubt it */disclaimer*

Been in Bellfields for 8 years and not lost a bike yet. Apparently the scroates moved out to Clandon and Wonersh (burglary rate 4 to 5 times higher than central Guildford) which is where all the money is now.

But really, unless the TV is very expensive would it not be easier to sell it there and buy another one here?

Telly is only a few months old and was not cheap apparently. She is over 80 and having to move back for family health reasons and needs the move to be as simple as possible.

I click on the edit profile button (top right) I get TomDBs profile.

I got the same problem and have emailed the mods.

There was an update/maintenance last night so maybe the two are linked.

Tough break Neil. Sounds like you and your mate got the sh!tty end of a very sh!tty stick.

Best of luck looking for something new.

Don’t forget both of you to contact Job Centre Plus and open your claim for JSA, it ain’t much but you’re entitled to it.

Bad news neilb67. Have you been officially informed you are redundant? Were you an employe or a contractor?

Sounds a bit like the texting stunt that the insurance(?) company pulled a couple of years ago.

Agree with hora. Whatever you do don’t let them close the claim down until you have received compensation.

There may be a limit to how much you can claim if you did not indicate a value. Think it’s about £35 or so.

It’s always worth the extra money to get proof of delivery.

Do you have any supporting evidence as to what was in the parcel; emails, advert etc?

This will all help when you make your claim.

Many years ago my parents sent me a book as a birthday present. I was in Germany at the time but it went BFPO mail so should not have been a problem.

Book never arrived and eventually they got the money back from the PO.

About 6 months later book was found amongst 2,500 other parcels in a secured mail wagon in a siding in Glasgow!

So don’t give up hope just yet. 😉

Royal Mail customer help line but I think you have to wait a couple of weeks to let them try and ‘find’ it first.

Good news there binners and especially hope the bike is there, but nothing can make up for the aggravation and wasted time of replacing all your hardware and software.

Wonder if any of your local plod frequent this place and thought the kudos might be good for their image?

Sorry to hear that. As steveh says contact CAB or ACAS.

Even though you are a contractor if you have been there for a minimum time, I think 1 year, you have similar rights to an employee.

Good luck with finding something else.

Ask CFH re ping 😉 His standard response to any technologically challenging question is to ‘Ping it’.

Haven’t played with hard-wired phones for a while but if the cabling is undamaged it sounds like it could be the connection box. Don’t bother getting BT in; have a look in yellow pages or Thomsons to see it there’s a freelance telephone egineer, there are generally cheaper, local and quicker.

    Is it the phone?

Have you switched the ringer off?

Have you tried a replacment plug-in phone?

And before CFH asks; ‘Have you pinged it?’, not that that would do any good! 😉
