My little Irish Terrier Beamish, she’s the best thing to have around. 14 years old now and I don’t want her to get any older.

I decided to start out with Grave of the Fireflies 🙁 I think the haunting image of Setsuko will be in my dreams tonight.

Also, if I do decide to watch…would it be better to watch a subbed or dubbed version?

I’ve been interested in watching My Neighbour Totoro for some time now but sometimes I fear I suffer from Asperger’s Syndrome because I find something I like and end up needing to know everything about it…boring people to death with the facts in the process.
Will I become addicted to Anime if I watch this film tonight? 🙄
Apart from a bit of Pokemon as a child, i’ve never dabbled in the art of Anime.

DFender is by far the best mudguard available. Neither a Neo Guard or a Mucky Nutz would keep the mud away from contact lensed eyes. Expensive but worth it for sure.

Does this mean that this weekend will be a complete washout when it comes to riding in Wales?

Hate to put this thread back on topic but i own a pair of the Royal Mercury gloves and the stitching is terrible and has come apart in a couple of places but i was at Cwmcarn @ 10am this morning, it was around Zero degrees, my fingers were freezing for the first 15 mins and then they were ok for the rest of the ride.
Good luck with them, i hope they last longer than mine have.

But with crisps and nuts I take more of a cookie monster approach!

I do the exact same thing with popcorn as soon as the lights turn down in a Cinema.

Just stick to all the Blue & Red trails. If you decide to take on the Blacks just take them slow and cautiously on your 1st run.

    Step 1. Get problem
Step 2. Book Genius bar appointment
    Step 3. Explain problem
Step 4. Apple Genius potentially runs diagnostics
Step 5. Apple Genius decides if you should have a new phone.

If you follow the right steps, it should end well for you. For some reason everyone expects a free new phone.
They have an excellent track record of fantastic customer service in their Apple stores and are often willing to give away a new phone (actually a refurbished phone) to replace a broken one. I don’t think you can say the same for other smartphone manufacturers. Most sales staff in Apple stores are drips and i always try to avoid ever having to speak to them because 99% of the time they’re clueless. Just save your time and energy by booking a Genius bar appointment.

After avoiding Freeminers due to its shortness, I was told about updates mid way around the blue on Sunday, so I hit Freeminers right after. Wow, what a change, much longer, much more challenging. Table top section is class, especially the ones that have a slight hip.
Once it’s been ridden more it’ll certainly make the trip to FOD more appealing when you don’t the trails in the surrounding area.

I still hate the last section of the trail though, seems un-thought about and pointless.

Me and my fiancée are having a Disney Cruise Wedding and getting married on Disney’s privately owned island Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. I think i’m just about coming to terms with people not being able to come but we plan to have a party over here for those guys when we get back.

I live in Builth Wells and work in Brecon so should be able to catch some decent action 🙂 I experienced it for the 1st time last year and am really looking forward to seeing it again.

An enjoyable rant, makes me feel justified in my intense hatred for the Mail.

I felt the same way. I find it quite hard to answer the question of “Why?” when I tell someone who’s reading the DM that i find it disgusting… Now i know they supported Hitler, i’ll just go with that. I don’t fancy saying something along the lines of

My optician is amazing. She’s had me trialling 4 sets of different lenses recently to eradicate the same issue you’re having and we’ve finally reached a point by where it no longer happens but i couldn’t tell you what she’s done. I think she’s played a round with circumference, thickness etc.
She did explain something about toric which you may already know or be interested in “With a standard lens it spins around all day but isn’t a problem because they’re round. A toric lens isn’t round, so if it does manage to spin round it will become very uncomfortable because it’s not sat on your eye properely. So toric lenses are weighted in certain positions to prevent them from spinning round”

Does This Spell the End of 26-inch Wheels For Giant?

Pinkbike asked Giant USA’s Global Product Marketing Manager Andrew Juskaitis a few questions about the switch to 27.5-inch wheels:

Is Giant USA eliminating 29 and 26-inch wheels from its XC, Trail and AM models for 2104?

    · No, not entirely for 2014. Reign X and Glory remain 26 inch for 2014 and Anthem X and Trance X will still be offered in 29-inch. But that story will change in the future….

So, there are no 29er XC racing bikes for 2014?

    · Anthem X 29er, XtC Advanced 29er and XtC Composite 29er will still be offered.

Will Giant follow this path throughout its DH range next year?

    · Can’t answer that question directly, but you can imagine that if we believe so strongly in 27.5 for the majority of our range in 2014, you can guess what might happen in our future…

Can we expect to see 29 and 26-inch wheels eventually disappear in Giant’s consumer-priced bikes in the near future?

    · 26-inch for sure, but 29-inch will be dependent on market feedback. That said, if the market progresses the way we believe it will, 29-inch will be phased out in approximately two years….again, totally dependent on market feedback.

Typical STW – they build a great big bike park and someone moans that it’s not got enough XC trails.

I’m sorry if I in particular am coming off as “moaning”. That was not my intention.

    thats exaclty what they’ve built!

Sorry, where is the “new big, fun, fast XC loop”

    joshbosh12

Isnt it like 3.50 to park in afan and glyncorrwg? I’m more than happy to pay 5 quid to ride what they got on offer.

Easy climb for 8-10 mins down sounds like a great XC route to me, dont know why people are moaning about it. Probably same people who moan about taking some rocks out of cwmcarn.

150mm bikes will be more than capable to do most of the stuff there i reckon. £1 @ Cwmcarn 8)
    I’m also not complaining.

Despite the fact you can pay only £5 to ride. I can’t see myself riding here very often really. I work in Brecon so when there was talk of this happening in Merthyr I was hoping for DH trails and a new big, fun, fast XC loop like you get at most trail centres these days. Is there a chance they could add this in the future?

Looks great. Not sure why people bother coming on this thread to explain why uplift is pointless and how they don’t like doing the same trails over and over. There’s loads of XC centres in Wales – can’t we just be pleased there’s something new and different on offer?

All well and good, but a new bit of singletrack that went up and down would’ve been nice.

Aside from that, I think what they’ve created is fantastic; It’s just not what I was hoping for.

    joshbosh12

It doesn’t matter what bike you have on any uplift or chairlift, just stop caring what other people think (others on the uplift probably don’t even care what bike anyone else is riding) and have fun riding your bike…

I guess it’s the perception people tend to have. Just as i’d question someone riding the Twrch trail at Cwmcarn on fully pledged DH rig (i realise they’re two very different ideas)
Plus i’ve been told many times before “your bike would break if you went down there”

I always feel out of place when doing DH runs on a 125mm trail bike because most of the time they have sections that definitely wouldn’t feel so good on a trail bike below 160mm. I can’t imagine my bike on a trailer next to a Scott Gambler, sitting next to a guy wearing a full face, full body protection, whilst i’m wearing an average helmet and an XC kit.
Will this become the first place (from what i know) where it doesn’t matter what bike you have, you can get the uplift without a DH bike and without feeling out of place?

Here’s my Trance X2. I love this thing and i feel she’s as AM as most bikes that have been shown.
