If you start from Kyle of Lochalsh you can head to Shiel Bridge, up Glen Lichd and then climb into Glen Affric which is stunning.

Then, South over the hills to Glen Moriston and up through Inchnacardoch Forest to Fort Augustus.

Next is the Corrieyairack Pass to Kingussie which will leave you with the choices you stated, plus heading through Abernethy and across to Tomintoul -Glen Avon – Glen Gairn or Cullardoch.

I’ve done a lot of C2C variations over the last few years so feel free to ask about any other route choices.

Thanks for clearing that up Dr. Barnes, I think I’ll walk home topless since the human race is obviously immune to the effects of the cold.

The only difference used to be external floodgate adjust in previous years. So it depends on how much hassle turning a knob with a wee allen key is compared to using a little dial, if the recent models are the same. The allen key is built into the rebound adjuster too, if you need it.

I was assuming he meant something more recent than the GBoxx and the Truvativ Hammerschmidt fits the bill, although I probably wouldn’t call it a gearbox.

My wife hardly ever gets to go riding thanks to her work but when she does she’s quicker uphill than all my mates and is surprisingly capable offroad for a beginner. Unless it snows at Pitfichie…

If you have paid for your road tax, on line for example you won’t get a ticket even if it’s not displayed because they can do an immdediate on-line check.

You can’t get a ticket for not having tax but you can get one for not displaying your disc, as I found out!

Reminds me of a couple of years back when myself and two neighbours had fully taxed cars parked in the lane behind the gardens but had also simultaneously forgotten to stick our new tax discs in the window. Some “Good Samaritan” obviously took offence to this and we all received nice fines from the police for our absent-mindedness.

You could also use Outlook/Outlook Express to download all the emails from the email account and then export them in whatever format you fancy. Just remember to set the option to leave a copy of messages on the server to stop them disappearing from the web account.

I prefer MrNutt’s concise expression of his opinion, rather than the "Ooh get me, I know about politics and stuff" approach further up the thread. They’re books read by 7 year olds for god’s sake.

Reading books and riding BMX sounds like my childhood. Some people are being rather touchy about someone daring to have fond memories of something they aren’t bothered about. I liked the Tintin books too, they were good to read when my library ran out of Asterixes!

I’ve got a slicked-commuter-singlespeed-drop-bar type thing that I built with one of those bankrupt steel frames and I have to admit I love it. The frame is a wee bit heavy compared to an Inbred but has a really nice ride and I find myself thinking of excuses to use it. Mine is a Saracen frame, but different to the one pictured in that thread.

I’m afraid not. You get everything that’s available on Freeview plus it can stream On Demand stuff as well. That means Sky Sports News and Setanta Sports are the sports ones plus Sky Three for the rare occasion they’re showing something good.

I have BT Vision and am very pleased with it. The set top box has been great with a large capacity and the interface is excellent. On Demand selection is good, I mainly use the TV Replay stuff, extended footy highlights and have also watched a couple of HD movies. The only downsides are dealing with BT if anything goes wrong and the router really is quite poor. I prefer to use my own however.

I love proper cold weather, I’m sure there’ll be plenty more up here!
