Join the club, I get out of breath going up stairs sometimes, yet touch wood, I have been mostly ok when riding

I get sensations like my whole ribs are being squeezed, and my ribs are often sore and aching

Thought my time was up a few months ago when I had to carry my luggage bag up some stairs at the train station

Been to the docs a few times with it, he seems unconcerned

Had heart tests about a year ago

I too feel at my wits end, been searching for answers for over a year now

If you like the place, go for it

personally I didn’t care much for Australia, it was ok, but nothing special for me

If I felt like you do about the place though, I would not hesitate to move somewhere that I love

I’ve been trying to learn french for years

after every trip there I get a bit more confident in it

would love the immersion technique, but its a catch 22, can’t really get work there without the language

my brother when he was very small used to talk about his ‘other’ mum and dad

he used to tell us his other dad was a fisherman in China, and the lived in a ‘house that wasn’t a house’, my parents asked what he meant and he said it was made of wood and grass

this was before he’d been to school or anything, no books about anything like that, no idea where he got it from, he hadn’t been talking long 😮

I was torn between a Liteville or Nicolai

I found my teacher very patronising and supercilious

His tact was also that speed is the cause of all accidents, which I guess isn’t surprising due to the title of the course 🙂

Also, like the OP said, most people seemed to be in their 60’s

We had a motorbiker in his 40’s who was quite good at shooting down a lot of the nonsense from the guy who was leading the course

I too wonder about the OP’s question

Even if I earned a decent wage I don’t know how I’d afford the kind of car I see plenty of people living near me driving around in

They can’t all be earning loads, or at least I don’t think so or they would live somewhere nicer :p

I’m into cars, so if I had the cash I would definitely buy a nicer car, I just don’t know how people have 2 new Audi’s or similar on the drive

There’s nothing more unpleasant of a morning, than being repeatedly overtaken by them, and to then be treated to a wobbly, middle-aged mans bottom in garish team kit lycra in front of you, arse in the air as he’s on the drops. Bleeuuuurgh!

There is some consolation I suppose. Smiling and nodding enthusiastically at the ones heading the other way. To be studiously ignored with that fixed-straight-ahead, oh-so-serious, totally joyless look on the faces. Like they’re not extracting a single molicule of enjoyment out of the whole experience.

Please make it stop! The sooner golf is the new golf, the better IMHO

wish I hadn’t looked at this thread 🙁

I had a 1968 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce for about 4 years

Had to sell it about 3 years ago due to financial problems

Sold it for about £nob all as the market was quiet

I miss it a lot, and its made worse by the fact that prices are soaring now

Great! Love it when it’s back on as it serves a useful social service. I think the BBC has finally realised that the serial offended need their own programme. Can’t wait for the moaners thread after, though they seem to be warming up already, perhaps the Daily Mail is not upsetting them today. Seldom see it until its shown as continuous repeats on Dave, helps me get through some seriously boring jobs.

+1, its hilarious and bizarre at the same time

There’s plenty of crap on the tv, I’d say 90% is bobbins, yet Top Gear seems to rile like no other tv show

I don’t know why they can’t change channel whenever it’s on

I personally like the poor humour, mindless ragging of cars, blatant sexism etc etc
