Got the bike, but after my jaunt up the snake pass on Sunday, I’ll have to say I’m out. The bike nearly broke me. It looks nice though

No such thing as a manly slipper

    Get some that are comfortable

I resisted for 40 years, but I finally gave in

    Got some from Clarks

We’re using much too small increments of time

We should be talking annually, or biennial

I had a carcoon for a few years

Doesn’t touch the car as it’s in effect an inflatable tent

Depends where your car is, and how often you’re using it

I’m with AA, but I can’t say how good they are really as I’ve not claimed with them

There is something lovely about a nice mechanical watch

Not that I’ve ever had enough to buy one for myself, but I can’t walk past a jewellers or watch shop without spending at least 10 minutes looking and thinking one day..

I’m not sure what it is about them, it just seems like a great combination of engineering and artistry

I’m not one for showing off at all, I just love well put together things

    Glad you’re enjoying it

Looks like a great bike, and pretty reasonably priced too

I was thinking about having a pootle up there before it’s open again

Tried it on the patriot last time, might treat myself and take the road bike up

    OP I’m jealous

    A hurricane isn’t noise

A little yapping jack russell most definitely is

    Me

Feeling too ropey for a bike ride

As for pub, see above, plus not enough cash to drink there

I might treat myself and eat dinner in the garden 🙂

    I had a recurring dream when I was I think around 5 or 6

I was in a cave complex, lots of tunnels and big caverns

I was dragged to one of these caverns with a big rock in the middle that had been carved into a table

I was being held down on this by lizard like creatures/aliens, and just as they were about to plunge a knife into my stomach I woke up

I had the same dream at least 10 times

It was very disturbing at the time. I still have no idea where it came from. I’m sure I hadn’t seen anything on tv like that at that age.

    ‘a more rounded animal’

‘where he thinks our product base might fit in with his existing portfolio’

‘moving forward’ I can almost blank out now, it’s like a nervous tick with some people

Was that Ant’s house they were at with the drawings on the wall and model cars?

Looks like his business is going well

Yes, I do watch a lot of them, fast n loud, car s.o.s., wheeler dealers, cars that rock, for the love of cars.

I do prefer it when they show more of the work that goes into them.

They probably make up 80% of TV that I watch

Amazing amount of buffoons on here

Mine was when I was around 10 or 11, going on a long uphill, struggling in 2nd gear on my Chopper, for some reason staring at the gear lever near my knees 🙂

Morris minor I think. So no damage to car.

Almost all of it. After bills, food, fuel to get to work there’s nothing left.

I don’t remember signing up for it

    a) eventually but probably not from the bees
    b) yes, after dismantling the porch
    c) see above, but with slightly more hilarious results
    d) you’ll definitely go straight to hell if you kill them. They are bees. Bees are good. Wasps on the other hand, complete arseholes…

Lauren seems intelligent, great taste in music, lovely accent which unfortunately is fading a bit, witty, sharp…

It was the bone thing that initially confused me

After Mum saw it she said it’s a strange thing to say, and thought maybe it was something off

and then the …. after he states it says in the advert it’s in Portogruaro, which it doesn’t

It’s easy to get parking in Monaco

I’ve been 3 or 4 times and always found a space in the underground car park that’s near the casino

I’d recommend Gorge du Verdon too. Also some lovely places up in the hills. Biot, Grasse, Saint Paul de Vence, Eze, I didn’t see enough of Menton to get an opinion of the place, just passed through

Paris, have a wander around Montmatre. It gets slated for being touristy, but it’s a lovely looking area

Musee d’Orsay is really nice, I prefer it to the Louvre, which is huge

I’ve only spent a few days in Nice, but make sure you have a look at the new fountains on the Promenade du Paillon. Beautiful part of the city

    Not found it

However about a month ago I spent around a week looking around local shops for some rubber grease. I eventually got some from a motorbike shop and felt pleased that I hadn’t resorted to just buying online

Imagine my surprise when I just found a second brand new unopened tub at the back of the shed. No recollection whatsoever of buying it

To be honest not that much, just being ignorant

I was behind a group of 4,3 in line, one in the middle of the lane. Fair enough, they were doing 20—25ish, so I was sitting behind them, but then when we came to the junction, lights on green, they suddenly stopped, no signals or indication why, and the guy in the middle of the lane was just there, lights still on green, then they chatted a bit and pulled onto the pavement, lights now on red.

As I was sitting at the junction waiting for the green, another group arrived at the junction. It’s 2 lanes, right lane for right turn only, left lane for straight and left. Most of the group was alongside my car on the left or behind him and my car, then another one, just as the lights are changing comes on my right, pulls in front of my car and just sits there then starts chatting to the guy to my left. I have no idea where he’s going as he seems to be with the other cyclists. Lights have been green whilst he’s chatting, so I beep my horn

Like I said, I need to chill out, not just while driving, in life generally

MIL says that she noticed he wasn’t moving and was cold this morning a good 18 hours ago, but thought he was just being a nob again so ignored him.

    That’s gold

    Chakaping 😀

Well said, unfortunately I had to go to pick up a big parcel from the post office, but I really do need to sort something out with regards to that. Panniers or something, and a lock

I’m in an ideal place to cycle in to the shops

    I’ve never tried it

I understand that it totally changes how you ride, so that would be the biggest appeal for me

I live in the Peak though, and while I do know people around here that singlespeed, my skinny spaghetti legs would be of no use whatsoever

I suppose they are portraying some romantic idea of stoic heroism about cycling, which must appeal to cyclists world wide

If they showed someone in the Californian sun, bright white smile, it might look like it was too much like fun
