I hunted high and low for a saris bones 3 as I wanted to see it before buying, so not online. It seemed like the perfect rack :) but no shops had the 3 bike version in store. In the end I bought a Saris Sentinel 3, half the price and very solid, easy to setup and fits hatchbacks and saloon boots.

After buying the sentinel I turned up at sherwood pines to see 5-6 saris bones 3 on the back of various vehicles and was glad I never found one, they seem massive and hang a long way of the back, pretty ugly, but can’t say how stable they are.

Out of interest the single bike Saris bones have been designed very strangley, the way the bike hangs off them will fill me with dread.

    Hope it helps.

    Update from Endura

Thanks for your email, We sell hundreds of thousands of baggy shorts and our returns rates are very low…..This said we did have a small issue with a batch of waist poppers.

This is not a widespread issue its just unfortunate that the good poppers don’t get a mention on single track. I would urge you to return to your place of purchase as this is where your contract of purchase lies, We do not have a fixed warranty period instead we take many factors into account. All our stockists are aware of this and will be happy to inspect your garment.

Very quick response and seems pretty reasonable, although I didn’t buy mine from locally, so may ask to send them back directly. I did let them know that there are reports of ‘good poppers’ here too.

Hopefully we can all enjoy some good poppers now :)

If you buy shorts that fit and are not a tight squeeze then the poppers are fine (zyme owner for 3+ years and wear them 70% of the year!!)

Think I stated mine are a correct fit, in fact they’re a little loose.

However if you wear yours for 70% of the year, you should take them off and wash them, the popper will then fail more due to lack of clag!

Have emailed Endura to see what they say, let’s see if, like their shorts, they open up and spill the beans! :)

Thanks Kevin, I am not alone in this. I have seen some newer endura shorts where they have included a thin belt, which is what i had to resort to. Why they can’t order in some better poppers is beyond me.

Beer storage systems should be taken into account with the design of such shorts, seeing as most modern bikes have little room for bottle cages :)

Don’t bother with Endura Zyme’s, comfy enough but the pathetic button pops in a light breeze or the smallest movement. Before anyone else says it, it’s not the spare tyre causing it. :|
