Try “alt/cmd/T” when viewing in full screen mode to see if that reverts it back to a thumbnail view?
    Doesn’t sound normal though.

When viewing in full screen mode, just use the “esc” key to return to the thumbnail preview.

Enjoy… one day you WILL look back with fondness, bringing back memories just reading this!

Fitted the medium spacer to my Alpine’s RP23.
Found that after dropping my normal pressure by 15psi that the bike sat into it’s sag better making it more active over the smaller stuff while being less prone to blowing through it’s stroke on larger drops and hits.
All in all was a good experience and just what the bike needed as opposed to feeling like the shock was possibly over pressurised to keep it from blowing the ring off the shaft on every drop or large hit.

It’ll take your head angle to 66 just like the Five AM.
Overkill? Depends how and what you ride… allows you to attack the slightly rougher stuff.
I did the Mega on my Five AM and Tour De Ben Nevis on mine this year so I’d say the combo was pretty versatile.
I also have an 18″ Alpine which I acquired after realising the Five AM’s limits on the Mega, the 16″ Five got a bit “choppy” at speed but that was a pretty extreme environment.

Sorry molgrips… “piss boring” not “too boring”.

@Rockape63 You’d better check that one out with molgrips first as a cross trainer could well be too boring!

@molgrips at 18stone, swimming is going to be a little bit easier on his body impact wise than running… especially as he has a knee problem. Only trying to offer an alternative and easily accessible form of exercise he may not have considered. I personally would much rather swim (which I also have an aptitude for) than run, which I find boring as hell… but each to his own!

Swimming is fantastic exercise (burns more calories as cycling) and most pools have “early bird” laned swimming sessions that you can go to before work… just a thought.

    @pistolpete2010

“Downhill was growing within me and within the u.k.
1996 my first downhill event “Quad descender” rivington pike Lancashire, snow on the top, four at a time bar banging race to the bottom (coincidentally it was the first ever outing of an orange full sus bike ever! looked more like a schwin home grown than the oranges we know today) I used spd’s, everyone was at that race and guess who won…. Steve Peat.”

Titley came second… I came third and Dale Holmes backed out of the final!

I’ve been waiting years to get that off my chest.

I’m having exactly the same problem as original post… has anybody solved this problem yet?

@DeeW Laresens despite their appearance offer plenty of grip especially in loose dry conditions but as one previous comment suggested… they just clog under braking on wet grass then just LET GO!
My bias is towards the DH sections so I’m looking for something that will run quickly to help out on uphill and pedally singletrack. I’ve run this combo before so know “where they are” but was unsure as to whether I’d “get away” with single ply.

Dual Ply High Roller 2.35 Super Tacky and Dual Ply Larsen 2.35 Super Tacky ordered.

God knows what they’ll be like in 6 inches of slush!

    In for a penny….

I’d chance a Larsen in the dry stuff but haven’t seen any dual ply versions anywhere?

I’ve seen pics of Nico’s bike with HR front and Larsen back but the Larsen is only available in single ply?

    5AM..
20mm less rear travel, 4lbs lighter and 0.5 degrees slacker head angle.

    Or Alpine 160..
20mm more rear travel, 4lbs heavier and 0.5 degree steeper head angle.

My money went on the 5AM and it’s a killer!

    Galvanic corrosion apparently?

I’ve always been told that copper grease should not be used on aluminium due to a corrosive reaction.
