I’m running an RP3 but also have the original romic in the box with the rockers.
I’m running Pikes on the bike and I thought the headangle was just right with the push rockers, the thought of a slacker head angle isn’t one I relish, I prefer mine a little bit sharper than average.

Nothign wrong with a bit race on the way to or from work. If I get passed by a roadie on my hack bike I always see how long I can keep up with them. It's a bit of fun and helps the fitness whilst not hurting anyone.

I got talked in to 90 minutes of football whilst I had a heavy cold. I thought it couldn't do me any harm and 2 days later I was in Hospital with pneumonia. They didn't have any room in any other ward so I was put in geriatrics. I watch 2 men die and the man in bed next to me had chronic emphysema and diarrhoea meaning I would be woken up in then night by his panting as he tried to raise enough energy to turn on his side before he shat over the side of his bed on in to a bed pan on the floor. To be fair to the old fella he wasn't a bad aim, it must have come from fighting Rommel in the desert which he didn't shut up about.

Are there any all black Turner decals about that anybody knows of? I can see that you can buy them on CRC for about 13 quid but they are black and grey and I'm looking for all black ones.

Me and the missus have 6 bikes. We keep three in the house and three in the shed. The 3 in the house tend to be the most valuable ones and we don't have room for any more.

Whilst the taper may be shagged when this happened to me I put the bolt on with lock-tite and tightened it hard and it was fine for another couple of years until I changed the chainset.

Buy a long sturdy metal bolt a couple nuts to fit that bolt and a couple large metal plate washers that also go on that bolt then use them as a press. Cost me less than a fiver from my DIY shop and always worked for me. If the cups are being a little stubborn put them in the freezer for an hour and they shrink slightly making them easier to fit.

So Specialized and Lapierre are tha BMW and Audi of the bike world.

Does this make Santa Cruz the Porsche as they are expensive and nice but you see a lot of them about?

I can't stand specialized but I have had a stumpy for a couple of years and love it. This I justify to myself as its a classic that they have been making for 20 odd years and therfore they have got it right.

GT were cool until they started manufacturing in the far east and flogging their bikes in Halfords. For some reason I also have a bit of a disliking of Nicolai

I say hello to everyone when I'm out in the Hills. There are 2 reasons for this
1, These people share the same hoobby that I do and as such I feel I share a bond with them
2, My bike is great and these people are more likely to notice this and give me some respect for it.

I think I might be a bad person.

I was wondering what sort of shipping charges would it be to send the frame from blightly and back as well. 200 dollars is 130 quid That is the cost of an Argos paint job with the decals, a headbadge and a full pivot set changed.

    Website says

Do you love your aging Turner and are you not quite ready to call it quits for a younger model?
Well we understand this attachment to a good old bike and would like to offer the option to erase all the signs of age and return your Turner to you in near brand new condition.

The Turner Rebuild Program includes re-powder coating the main frame and rear, complete pivot rebuild kit installed, new down tube decals and a stainless head badge. We offer any color from our custom color list and the complete process takes approximately 3 weeks. All this for a mere 275 dollars. Although we no longer offer re-polishing of the rear we will drop the price to 200 dollars if you choose to only re-powdercoat the front triangle.

    Sounds good.

This question has been asked a few times and every time the answer is the same.

    Because nobody wants them

You could try and whet an appetite or two by posting pictures, a price, offering to split provided the frame sells, and putting a price on that is open to negotiation.

My missus V brakes looked like this and it was because the spacers on the brake pads weren't even and the springs had been adjusted to compensate.

He is almost certainly waiting for someone to buy the intense so he can pay for your BFe. Give him hell and I will bid 250 for his intense frame. 🙂

Depends how impatient the seller is.

And there is the crux of it. This frame isn't selling not because its a bad deal because it clearly isn't but because nobody on here wants a Large Giant Trance at the moment.

As the seller you can wait a couple of weeks and re list it, lower the price until it is such a steal that someone who doesn't even want a Large Giant Trance buys it and builds it because it is too good a deal not to buy or ebay to to a much much wider customer base but have to pay a percentage of the final price to ebay.

If you have the knowhow to do it and like a good tinker then why not? Make sure you check the headtube lenthy to make sure your forks will fit (shouldn't be a problem but better safe than sorry), checked your BB shell width is the same, maybe have a check on the hose routing on a new frame to make sure your brake hoses will be okay and be prepared to recable the mechs but you should be fine.

A bike in only "worth" what people will pay for it.
A bike owner can point to the manufacturers’ price but the manufacturer doesn't need to sell a single model in a certain colour and a certain size ASAP. The classifieds forum has a lot of people wanting something for nothing but it also has a lot of people wanting what they simply are not going to get.

ahwiles – wish I'd had such ingenuity when my Hemlock snapped. Had to walk 8 or 9 miles back to the car.

Hmmmm that could be the Hemlock off my shortlist.

Great piece of bodge is that, did the crudcatcher chap make a million from his sawn through coke bottle? Get it patented.

I would love this frame, in fact I've told Filthy I'd love it but short of offering my services as a hitman I have no way of getting it I'm about 600 quid short of his estimation. I can offer £400, a newly powdercoated 456 summer season and a set of Hope mono M4s but I somehow don't think that is enough.

The thing about Si from progressive bikes is he pays to have a banner on here (or did until recently) so why should he not bang on about Chumbas? They are frickin' lovely and the next time he's looking to sell off demo frames I hope to have saved up enough to be all over that.

While bikes sell for a good bit less than the sum of the value of their parts. If you are asking what is my bike worth? Then on the Classifieds forum if you put that bike up for sale you would have to lower your price to roughly 700 quid to sell it I would reckon.

GT went wrong when they got bought out by someone (was it Schwinn) stopped making their bikes in America and started spewing cheap far east mass market rubbish in to Halfords. The triple triangle is fantastic though and stiffens up the feel of a bike whilst in the saddle to the point that you feel you know the surface you are going over a bit too well.

I've had a set of XT on EN521s for a coupel of years and the only issue was that the rear needed a regrease and refit after working its way loose after a year which the LBS told me was standard with new XT hubs. My Hope pro2 on the other hand does make a much nicer clicky noise.

    passed about 5 or 6 mtbr's and 1 group of 4………………….wot a miserable set of geyt's.
    not 1 smile/nod/hello/fanny adams.
    wot gives??

Are you serious? You were on a road bike!!!! Roadies say hello to roadies, MTBers say hello to MTBers. You don't catch Jedi's tipping a nod to Sith when they head down the canteena for a few scoops do you?!

Hadn't thought of Chelford, I'll have a nip down there on Sunday. Cheers for that. I remember being down there a couple of years back and seeing a lad who I knew from my time at uni who I was convinced was dodgy flogging the contents of a house that didn't seem like it was his. If I see it I might pay the airgun man a visit.
