Could your mate not bulk up a bit, put on a bit of muscle in order to be able to throw a bike around a bit easier? 60 kilos is nothing.

Could someone not bid a couple of grand for the frame and then when they win tell the seller they didn’t get the deal they wanted and so they wont be paying.

I’m 5′ 11 & 1/2 with a 32 inside leg and I ride a medium HL. When I got it it was way too small for me but a longer stem and layback seatpost and it is just on the small side of okay. Great for chucking about.

While I’m glad that they’re getting their comeuppance, I hope that people don’t lose sight that this is a Tory govt. and that the Libs aren’t the party that need removing next time around.

I disagree wholeheartedly. The Tories had no mandate to enforce their policies as they did not get a majority, the Lib Dems have facilitated their policies being applied for the AV vote and a couple of other small token gestures. Basically 30 pieces of silver.
When people voted Lib Dem they voted for their manifesto which has been shat on from a great height by this coalition and now so have the Lib Dems.

The DT 4.1, 5.1 and 6.1 have always had a bit of a reputation as being a total pain for getting tyres on and off them. I don’t know of any tricks other than using very strong tyre levers and a bit of umph to be honest.

First words of the headline “Cyclists can ride drunk”
No they can’t, its been illegal since 1872. If they manage to lie in the first 4 words of the headline how anyone can take this rubbish seriously is beyond me.

If you have an Avid bleed kit then what I’d do is attach it it all up but take the plunger out of the lever end syringe and use it as an overflow then fill the system from the calliper end. Then probably remove the bleed kit refill the syringes as per usual and bleed it again.

The monster dog fits my head size large with real ease. A mate who takes helmet size XL also has a pair that fit him with no problem.

You’ll buy them all eventually, then sell them cos they’re not niche enough. Then you’ll buy something from a Peruvian company that makes 2 bikes a year, hand built from bamboo and snakeskin.

Do this peruvian company have a website? I like the sound of them.

There seems to have been a horrific change in attitude in this country of the last 10 years, from somewhere (and I have no idea where) lots and lots of people seem to think they have the right to not be offended by anyone and if they are offended by someone they automatically have the moral high ground. If someone does deliberately not set out to offend in what they do then the offense taken is the problem of the person who perceives it not in the person who has caused it.

The statement “I am offended” is nothing more than a whine, a whinge, a statement that someone else should think as you do. I disliked this surf person’s thread not because it was offensive but because it was bloody awful and I took the mick as such. To claim offense, as so many do is simply to feign outrage and is a lazy retort as it requires no real thought or invention and allows the claimant to feel smug and superior.

    He’s..

Down here in the South they built all these places, with the electricty we have down here, they were called schools.

Whilst you lot were busy digging up and humping the coal to the power stations so we had light to learn about the use of apostrophes.

    Tell me I’ve often wondered.

What’s it like, night riding down slag heaps in SPDs? I mean does the light reflect of the slag?

What’s the best tyres for grip?

Does the coal dust get under the skin when you fall off sideways after hitting a particularly nasty bit of coke?

I must be out of touch with my roots as a miner being from the North and all but I’ve never actually known what a slag heap is. The nearest thing I’ve ever seen to one was a classy 15 woman set to I saw in Yates’ in Romford. I didn’t think to mountainbike on it though.

If you’re going to crash on the trail there is nothing manlier than not being clipped in and hence being able to leap from your bike, saving yourself from harm so you can mince down to your local cruising spot uninjured.

It is illegal to video or photograph a copper going about their duties thanks to anti terror legislation. If this copper knew what he was doing he would simply have arrested this bloke for that and it would have been the end of it. It looks like a tale of 2 pricks to me as I find people who run red lights and coppers who throw their weight around both quarrelsome.

I’ve had problems aligning in the past not realising that I had a sticky piston in my calliper so by pulling gently I was actually kicking it out of line before tightening and then worrying why it still rubbed like a £$#* It needed a bit of a fettle to lube the piston and then re-bleed the system before I could aligned them correctly.

And with that sort of turnover they don’t care if a few thousand customers get their credit cards turned over because of a lapse somewhere in their security because with prices as cheap as theirs they know they’ll always have customers.

What aboput hopping on to the kerb and riding down that if the light is on a continueous road with only a right hand side filter in. I do that from time to timwe if there is nobody about as in theory I haven’t run a red light.

Its easy. You can simply make the brake lever horizontal and pump the lever to see if any air comes up and then top up the reservoir for a 2 minute fix, bleed top down where you fix a tube to the bleed nut and then pump fluid through the system with the lever or bleed bottom up as described above.
