I’ve no complaints about the gloves, I’ve had a pair for a while and they seem to be holding up pretty well, unlike my last Fox pair.

I can’t believe that anyone would be suprised that a working class white bloke from Barking is actually a racist, its BNP heartland for goodness sake.

I wear bolle safety specs about half the time I ride, normally when I know there are likely to be flies about. The slight visual distortion isn;t reallya problem as I normally barrel along not really knowing what I’m doing anyway.

Use a hair dryer on the tape. The heat makes it go a bit more limp and gives the adhesive more of a chance to bond.

Having never even ridden a Ti bike and so my opinion not being worth too much I’ve always liked the look of the Cove Hummer.

A peek would be to see me and binners on a bed of £50 notes rutting

You know when you only read half a sentance and get the wrong idea.

Everytime I see it I think ‘would a RPG reach that’?

Is this a peek in to how your mind works?

If i knew that if i committed 1 more crime and i would be locked up for life,no way would i go any where near a criminal offence, more fool them.

It’s been widely proven that harshness of sentances never works as a deterant to crime though. I suspect you’d never commit another offence because you’d never commit one in the first place irrespective of the punishment.

yep, they spend so much money locking people up that they can’t afford their own health service and so have to smear ours with talk of “death panels” and “an Orwelian nightmare”.

Nice of that piece to tell us that 20% is one in five, shows the level of people its aimed at.

FACT: Panaracer Fire XCs have the sidewall integrity of cling film.

Funny this is metioned, I’ve worn a set of Fire XCs down to near bald without a single sidewall issue where as a mate had a set of Nobby Nics (old kind) which wore so quickly he only used them on two hard rocky rides and he could see thread. I don’t work for Panaracer I’d like to point out.

A mate of AndyHilton and mine used to work with this bloke, apparently he was a barrister before getting inked up.

I could tell you not to go for PAnaracer fire XC’s. I little wet or loose conditions and the front would wash out quite regulary. Not a confidence instilling front tyre anyway.

The opposite of this, I’ve always found the Fire XC hold steady even in wet and loose conditions. Maybe I’m just not going fast enough.

For Twix aficionados can I recommend the Jive bar available in Aldi for much less than a Twix yet is the same product but for me tastes a shade nicer.

Yes, letting fluid out should help. I was having a pig of a time fitting pads to my missus’ freshly bled juicy 5s a few months back until I realised that one of the pistons was protruding. I couldn’t get it back in for love nor money until I released one of the bleed screws and it slid easily back in pushing out a bit of fluid as it did.

The pads then went in, I wont say easily as their juicys but it didn’t take me long and then another quick bleed and they were good as new.

I can’t help thinking that the friction heat that is caused by braking could be used for the warming of sausage rolls somehow. Buggered if I can think of a way to do it though.

You can just make a pack up yourself out of NiMH rechargers and re-use the connectors, it’ll charge using the original changer. That is what I did when I was still using my old smarts for commuting.

IIRC the smarts have the switch in-line with the map unit cord, so was the battery switch just to switch the battery off? If so, you could just bypass the battery switch and remember to unplug them if left for any length of time.

That is just the answer I need. Cheers mate, you’re a legend.

Cheers mac, I’ll have a look through that. The battery itself isn’t dead as such, the switch on it has broken and I thought it probably best to leave it be. As it seems that a new one will cost the earth i think the bet thing for me to do would be try and crack it open to see if I can fix it and get the 67 quid ready for one of smudges deer stoppers just in case.

I was just hoping there would be something available I could pick up on the cheap and find some way of bodging it on to a bike. I was only really going to use it for pootles.

I raised my eyesbrows reading this. Why is it your ‘LBS’?

Because it’s in his locality rather than yours?

The thing about motorists is they are less likely to have a go at cyclists if they are wearing a helmet as its a good headbutting weapon and in a fight you have extra protection.

As an occasional seller on here as well as forum whore, I had a couple of Hope Seat QRs for sale, as my brother in law bought the wrong size TWICE.
Theres no way im going to ask for more than you can get them from the cheapest retailer. To be honest I had to drop the price a bit because nobody’s going to buy them without any warranty at the same price as the retailer.
Some sellers ARE tyring to rip people off, or are just plain greedy.

I’ll give you £12.50 posted for the old style Qr one.

Okay, that is a little cheeky but I would have thought an unequivical no and maybe some sort of withering comment about what he should be aiming for with that sort of budget and your done. I’m glad I paid the asking price for those king wheels I bought off you now. 🙂

TBH, if I was selling something and someone commented that they could get the item new from a different company my (and your) response would be ‘well you’d be stupid not to buy it new cheaper so why bother posting/emailing this?’

You would wouldn’t you? Otherwise why would you hilight it to the seller? If its an ulterior motive as you know its out of stock or you can’t be assed getting it new then its a cheap-attempt at low-balling.

If I was selling say a frame and someone posted up saying ‘look its the same price here in a UK shop’ I’d pull down the frame and wait abit then readvertise.

Then there is the low-balling with no reason ‘would you sell me the nearly new MINT CNT/carbon bars for £28’?

    Thats when it gets insulting.

To be fair Hora if you’re getting insulted about a lowball offer in the classifieds then you’re doing it wrong. People will always try and barter people down a bit on price and as the seller it’s your job to try and haggle back up. The worst you can do is say no, there’s no point in getting offended.
