Sorry didn’t explain properly after looking at that list my Citroen has a nose weight of 49kg …. the 75 is the weight of the rack with 4 ,15kg bikes on board …. the car can tow about a 1000kg … is it illegal then to exceed the nose weight or just ‘not recommended’ I can see how having weight so far back can take weight off the front of a car but surely 4, 80kg passengers counter acts that ? Basically what I’m asking is … is it legal or not *

Although I didn’t ride it I wouldn’t say I hate it I enjoyed the rest of the rooty section an it’s nice to know in my head “next time I go I’m gonna ride that” or at least have a go if there was no challenge to it for me I’d lose interest I recon … being in a trail center I also know everything is ridable so no excuses for me !

Possibly it was a fair few months ago since I did it but the section as I remember was really rooty leading up to it an there was a right hand corner which doubles back(switchback?) an seems to drop off /roll off half way round the corner/switch back about a foot

This said root tree rooted drop at the end of the pie run … ive only been to gt once an also chickened out of said drop …. what’s people’s opinions on how it is ridden ? From a outside view to me it looked like there was a line on the far right hand side kinda going long ways around the drop ?

I’ve got a small flap of plastic that attaches to my seat made by mucky nuts it’s called a butt fender or something there is another company that makes a slightly larger one too carnt remember the name ….. it’s not as effective as a propper mud guard but does save your arse gettin wet thru ! ………… unless you drop off the back of your seat post then it wipes it all over your front on the way back up its quite flexible

I’m not sure about pinning it but I learnt from experience when approaching a wide loomy corner an it called for a bit of foot out flat out action I just couldn’t quite get my center of gravity low enough until I got my ‘balls out’ it all made sense after that

I love my anthem I know they have a good following to also giants customer service ( from my own experience) has been fairly good , I had a look at a meridia ninety six when I was after my bike it too had a fusion x shock I believe rock shox have something to do with it not sure if they’ve helped design it or commission it or what hopefully someone will help clear it up with you but if you prefer the ride of the ghost/it suits you more I wouldn’t of thought there would be a issue with the shock

^^^i thought the op has trying to keep out his big ring? :-). If the single track is on the flat could you move your weight forward so the seat bounces around behind you? or would weight be too far forward then?

My favorite was while me my mate gav an my dog were out running we’d just got back into town an the call came ‘GAV HOLD THE BLOODY DOG i need to go NOW!! i was lucky enough to be up one of the poshest lanes in my town one with them big driveways where you carnt see the houses from the road loads of trees an bushes so i snuck into someones garden i let loose missing my ankles/back of shoes by a matter of cms i then needed a wee so had to dance around wipping my shorts an kegs off avoiding my Poo before i had another bout of the squits at which time i could see some walkers thru the trees near my mate gav they didn’t say ote to him but they must of seen me in a bright white top, cleaned myself up with one of my best pair of boxers, as i had my dog with me id tucked a load of Poo bags into my shorts picked my boxers up with one bag my turd with another put it in the nearest wheelie bin an finished my run home i found the whole experiance liberating

Not sure if this has been asked but why do some riders take newspapers at the top of climbs is it as simple as just stopping the wind on the way down?

Ive used both sintered and kevlar in my avids the kevlar give better feel than the sintered to me but they ain’t keen on wet gritty places not recommend for the peaks and Ive eaten thru a set in a very wet day at dalby. … The metal backing pad didn’t do a bad job of slowing me down tho! id recommend both just carry a spare pair if you use the kevlar in wet gritty areas! Atm i have kevlar front sintered back never tried organic

Not something Ive looked to far into but i own a anthem x with a press fit bottom bracket an no tabs for any form of chain device how do you get around this to keep the chain on, also comming from 3×10 what sort of gearing do you lose top an bottom? i generally dont use my granny but do use the big ring on the road down hill etc also what sort of weight savings are gained? i understand you loose your shifter, cables, mech an two rings but them chain devices an bash guards dont look over light? Cheers for any light shed

I dont have a problem with mine bobbing i found mine use to bottom out a lot unless i put a lot of pressure in the shock i solved this with a fox tuning kit its easy to fit an comes with 3 different sized shims. … I also found putting a little to much float fluid in the air chamber had the same effect but obviously it runs out overtime so isn’t a permanent fix :-)it ramps up the spring rate. …..Sorry for the thread hi jack
