I work for a large gas distribution company in the office.

My department should all be able to all easily do our jobs from home however nobody is setup to do so due to our IT systems being dire and still in the dark ages. They are in the process of implementing access for working from home however everybody will probably be infected or dead by then…

There is also a lack of trust that people will be working..

Luckily I think my job is pretty safe in regard to the effect of corona virus…

Done 170k but has to bail today due to hamstring. Was planning on another 300 over the weekend but need to rest up and admit defeat.

So I ordered my “Mutsu” should be coming Saturday.

Maybe I am going to hell but I am planning on buying my bags from alpkit and some gear so that might make up for it…

I am signed up to do the 24 hour solo but just got a new rescue dog not sure if a 24 hour event will be too stressful for him especially as it would be his first weekend camping.

Plus I am not feeling it even though I have done quite a lot of training including sdw in a day and C2C

So we think it will be ok Saturday? As I am planning an attempt as well and weather looks fantastic for Saturday!

Also out of interest what is a reasonable amount of time to do Winchester to Eastbourne I am fairly fit so was hoping 10 – 12 hours would be realistic.

I was a little disappointed when I did it as part of my coast to coast. Its ok but I wouldn’t go out my way to do it. Reminds me of Cannock chase for the most part its easy although there are a few bits where the difficulty increases suddenly and quiet significantly in my opinion.

Plus its £9 to park there and the Cafe was poor compared to any of the other trail centres I have been.

Got one myself just road it in battle on the beach and I was amazed how well it handled on the singletrack I was beating a lot of people on mountain bikes through them sections and I am a pretty slow rider.

Probably my favourite bike and I also have a shiny santa cruz mtb. Just love the versatility of it. Great on the road as well!

We went in December it was really nice. One of the nicest trail centre cafes I have been to.

Thanks I heard it gets busy. By nicest I meant overall scenery, quietest, best sections of road etc.

Sorry to hear that. It’s a common issue with that frame. I was going to buy one until I read about it on Mtbr yeti forum. I would contact silverfish.

been on the website since before tickets went live. We get what you’re saying about fees for camping and festival entry, but please understand that we can’t provide a race, a festival and 4 nights camping for you and your partner for race fees which are between £50-£60 (entry fee excluding VAT).

Sorry it’s just not possible to do it safely or to the high standard that we set. Our headline band alone usually charges £20 a ticket for a two hour show.

In addition to this we have live music all weekend, kids coaching, demo bikes, a demo course, air bag, pump track, provision of food and drink. We’re including all of this in your race ticket and a £15 ticket for your partner.

If you’d like to cancel your ticket please email gigantic customer services.

I have messaged asking for a refund no way am I paying this. Is it just me or have they just decided to add these charges? I didn’t seem to recall seeing any of this mentioned when I entered?

That will do it I just bought a smart trainer so the weather should change any minute now. Although looking outside I have a good excuse to use it today.

Screen broke after 2 days exactly the same as the last Motorola I had didn’t even drop it just got it out my pocket and it was cracked.

Nobody can hear me on the phone exactly the same as the Motorola I had before that.

I suspect it might have water damage some how but never dropped it in water might just be the damp from when I am out riding with it in my pocket.

Wifi connection is always dropping out on it, Bluetooth doesn’t always work.

Camera is always blurry out of focus.

Much slower than when I had it.

This is the same as the last Motorola I had almost exactly the same problems.

We went 5 years ago. With a general admission ticket you can see most of the track and from some points on the circuit you can see multiple parts of the track due to the elevation changes. Way better than Silverstone.

We camped at the circuit which is ok if you like to party and don’t want to sleep. The Germans bring massive speakers, fireworks, sofas, firepits paddling pools and stay up all night launching fireworks next to your head and playing music so loud you can feel it.

There is a small campsite down the road just outside spa which I have stopped at not on the F1 weekend. Might be a better option but book in advance if you do it’s not very big.

Prepare for anything from getting soaked by thunderstorms one minute to sunburn the next.

    I would do it again.

So back from the physio I don’t think i was paying full attention first time round its the tendon that attaches the hamstring at the back of my knee (lateral hamstring tendon).

He seems to think this is causing the swelling which is causing most of the pain but the tendon is also sore to the touch.

He did suggest trying to cycle with my feet straighter and not toes pointing outwards but I am not sure about this as it seems to go against all the advice I have read on the internet which is to cycle with your feet how they naturally fall. He isn’t a cyclist more into running and swimming.

Think I might need to get a bike fit.

Thanks everybody so back to the physio it is.

Didn’t realise it could be months before I could ride again. Really annoying was at the fittest I have been on the bike and was hoping I could continue to build on that. Back to square one :(

My partner is a vice chair for a club. One thing that I know she finds is members are always quick to complain about how things are ran but a very small percentage of those who complain contribute anything themselves.

Maybe if you don’t like the way things are done put your name forward to join the committee and try and make some changes?

Depends on what you want to spend. I would definitely try and find a local club and then you can usually borrow a boat and go on a trip with someone experienced. Maybe look at something like a pyrahna fusion which would be a good allrounder

I am going to try and get a ticket for the marathon did the enduro in 2015 scared the sh$t out of myself had a good weekend but wouldn’t do that again way above my ability. Also saw some questionable behaviour with people riding over other riders..

Just confused as the stanchions are 110mm long is this normal? I always assumed the stanchions were the same length as the travel?

I got mine in May, 100mm SC fork with a dropper post. I have ridden in the peak district, exmoor, pyrenees ect. I’m not the best mountain biker in the world but it does everything my 5010 did and is lighter and quicker uphill.

I think if I was bombing down stuff it would occasionally be sketchy on steep rocky stuff at speed but it gets down everything I have thrown at it. Fitting the 34 120mm SC would make it more capable I would probably have picked the TR version if it was available when I bought mine.

Same for me kryton I have been training for a 12 hour ride and overdone it over the last few weeks. Did the hope marathon today and had the same experience as you had to cut short to the half. That area of the peak District is hard and a lot of the climb’s are walks in my experience. Didn’t stop me getting annoyed. Every time I ride there I say never again. This time is the last!

@artichokes we decided to stop at Col de Portet d’Aspet – Camping Les Asphodèles. Just got here it’s perfect just what we wanted! Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

@ElShalimo area is fine for walking to be fair just don’t like being crammed in with no privacy. If your planning on stopping at the campsite at the top of the valley book it first as it was full when we tried to get in.

I really enjoyed my trip to the quantocks / somerset last year people tend to overlook it for devon and Cornwall . However North Wales never seems to be too busy and coast is nice around abersoch.

Obviously both location are great for riding.
