Gisburn Thursday, local Friday, Penmachno Saturday. Weather was great for all three. Never been to Penmachno before but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have a Minion SS on the back of the Nomad. It’s good on dry & rocky trails. In the mud you have no choice but to drift, makes you feel cool. But then once the roots come into play it does not want to stick around at all. I was at Revolution Bike Park a few week back and it was scary.

S2k springs to mind, Mk1 Focus RS, Mk5 golf gti edition 30 perhaps?

I wouldn’t bother with Great Hill just yet as it’s an utter bog. Especially heading down the Roddlesworth side. They are putting the slabs all the way across though which should make it rideable year round.

I would do San Marino to Witton Weavers, up to the tower via Lyons Den, mess about around the tower if you want and then down Stepback Brook to the Royal, into Roddlesworth woods and over up to Great Hill, this way you get the White Coppice descent in too, minus the bog. From the Coppice follow the Goyt to the reservoir and you’re more or less at the Nab.

I think, Simmy, you’re referring to the climb from Sunnyhurst woods, which heads near a UU place.

Not sure if you can see this but a strava route of a similar ride i’ve done here.

I’ve just started from the Darwen side.

Sliced the tread wide open on my HD rear at Revolution Bike Park, was running it OK up to that point, though I did had issues going tubeless. Would try again if they were cheap enough.
    DHR2 next.

Can anyone link me to any recent videos of the trails or similar trails in the area? I’m interested but from watching the 2014 video, I’m not sure if it’s for me.

Llandegla. If they’re complete novice riders I would not take them to Stiniog.

I was tempted for the Crush but went with a Pace RC127, might be worth a look if you have some bits to build it up with as full builds are quite pricey I think.

I enjoyed it. Thought the ending would be different mind. Good Sunday evening viewing.

Seems that you can use that code with numerous items. Kind of lucky dip.

    Thanks.

The first one I got came off and cracked.. granted it was a crash though was relatively low speed. Asked Fabric and they told me to a buy a new one, fortunately the retailer – Triton Cycles FTW, replaced it for me.

No problems as of yet, though is getting increasingly hard to click into position and has come off once or twice.

Not sure if this is any use. But, if you sign up to VS Dev Essentials (here) you get 6 months free.
I’ve done a few courses on it and found them pretty helpful.

I am the same. Happy to go splits with you if you fancy that? Or anyone with spares I’d be happy to purchase a couple.

Minion DHF on the Front, Ardent on the Back is hard to beat for an all round combo.

Been using this for a year, done uplifts, trail centres and natural stuff on it. I like it, though the Ardent is a bit too weak & thin for the abuse it gets, it’s also crap in mud but quite fun getting the back end out. It’s held up well though. Got a Minion SS on order so will see how that goes.

Rust, rust and more rust. Check arches, sills and area surrounding the boot badge button.

DSG will have the flappy paddles.

They can go through oil, also ensure oil is changed regularly, would be good to have the pick up change as heard of sludge blocking them and starving the car of oil on higher mile cars.

First ride on a new mech, which replaced the one I smashed into a rock, I proceed to then smash the new mech into the same rock. About 10 minutes.

Email Invisiframe. They have been very helpful for me in the past. Might be able to create you a template.

Got some new Pikes delivered today for my hardtail. Looking forward to servicing them and getting them on. Antur Stiniog this weekend too.

Looking forward to any kind of summer we get, so I don’t have to come back from a ride muddied up to the eyeballs. Wishful thinking.

I really like that. Decals look awesome too. I never got round to testing one of these but I kind of wish I did – always had a soft spot for them.

I was going to match my Pikes with the cyan of my Nomad but I was a little too eager to ride it so whacked the Invisiframe on them before I had chance.
Starting to think I should though.

Also, can I have an easter egg?

Just buy the 100%’s, never know might like ’em, if not sell them on after you’re done.

    was thinking a bell stroker?

Think you’ve got the wrong helmet mate.

Bell stoker I assume? Depends on your riding but should be suitable, TLD A1 or Bell Super (which I own) are good, popular lids too.

I have a Newmad and a 140mm hardtail, been riding my hardtail over winter mostly and thought – “hey, this is pretty good, maybe I don’t need that fancy bike..*” But.. I was out on the Newmad over the weekend.. and my god it’s so much fun and feels fast. That’s on local natural trails, trail centres and uplifts at Antur/BPW/Revo. It does it all for me, love it. I demo’d the previous Bronson and the Nomad before I bought it and the Nomad was a better ride for me, though not much in it and I suspect the recent changes have rectified sizing and geo issues.

*Not to say my hardtail isn’t capable, it certainly is and has it’s place but if it were one bike for all I would choose the Nomad.

First bike event of any kind so looking forward to it!

I had no problem with the signal coverage or the way the phone works, it’s just when you ask them to do something they are shocking.
Transferring a Vodafone number to another Vodafone sim should not take the best part of 4 months.
I’ve been with them for 5+ years but will change this summer.

I really like my Lezyne Macro Duo. Not as powerful as some but does the job for me.
Light, compact and lasts about 2hrs on a decent setting. Got it free with a mag subscription too.

Oh just read, I use it with a bar light too, won’t be sufficient for a helmet light only. Ignore me.

Very happy with my Evoc FR. Quite big so don’t use it on short local loops but great for everything else. I did try a few on to get the size too.

Yep as above, mine have worn away the paint where the guard touches.
    Tape it up.

For balance my SLX, albeit just the rear, has been shocking. Inconsistent lever feel after multiple bleeds. I’ve just replaced the caliper at £20, it’s a little better but still not great though I think it’s going to need another bleed. I have a set of Hopes on another bike and they are a lot better for me. But as expected for the price difference.

That said, for the price and judging the front brake only, it’s great. Bit like a on/off switch but really powerful with 180mm rotors.

I think the deores are rated just as good, but I like the reach adjust on the SLX.

I have a Pace RC127, I was initially going for the new Orange Crush but no availability meant I went Pace.
I thought about the Bird and some others, though decided on the Pace in the end, not sure why to be honest – just liked the look.
I have not tried any others but I’m happy with my choice so far. Really fun bike to ride.

I like it. I did order a crush in black/black but didn’t get it in the end. Went for another black/black bike though I need to change the forks as they’re white at the moment..

I love the Nomad above. I have the cyan/magenta one and it’s loud for sure. Coming round to it but I had to get a stealth bike to even it out somewhat.

Please don’t go to Byron or Five Guys over some of these suggestions, whilst good they are not on the same level IMO.
Bleecker St Burger, just a food truck but oh so good.
Honest Burgers, these are all over. Rosemary chips are like crack.
    Patty & Bun.
    Stokey Bears.
    Mother Flipper.
    Meat Liquor.
    Dirty Burger.
    Dip & flip.

Oh and perhaps the BBQ place was Bodeans in Soho? Though suppose it’s not on the outskirts.
