Awesome. Looking forward to seeing pictures!

The RC127 doesn’t have stealth routing (unless it’s changed) but the 127+ does.

I have the Pace RC127. Get that. No complaints from me, takes a lot of stick and is a belting ride.

They were doing a great offer on the frames a few weeks ago, might be worth an ask.

I like the Morf too mind..

Used tesa tape x2 on mine. Here’s what Hope said when I asked them about taping tech enduro rims.

Thank you for your email. We use No-Tubes 25mm rim tape, twice around pulled really tight, with the No-Tubes valves on the Enduro rims.
    Kind regards

I had an NX mech for the best part of a year and it was pretty poor. Ok initially but the play in the mech got looser and looser. I do think I might have bent it a little too which doesn’t help.

Eventually started throwing it into the spokes as you’ve said, I set the limit screw as best I could, fresh cables etc, but after the second time of going into the spokes and taking two out, I swapped it for a GX and it has been fine ever since.

Without a chain, check if the mech wobbles when you push and pull on it. I had more than a few scratches on mine so couldn’t warranty it, but I’ve had good success with sram warranty in the past.

If still nothing, go for a GX mech.

If it is just an hour I suppose it would do. If you’ve got longer head up to Darwen Tower, Healey Nab or even Rivington. Some good trails about.

Used the mushroom types to great effect. I just used the puncture repair kit stuff, and hung the tyre of a pair of molgrips for a day or two. All good.

No problems with NX here, bought them cheap from Decathlon early last year. I like the steel chain ring you get with them, so much so I bought 4 of them when CRC sold them for a few quid a bit back. They seem to last forever, just what I want.

A few months ago I ordered the NX from Active Sport and received them a day or so later. All good. They are bushings, so no bearings to seize.

Buy the saints, keep the Hopes for when they fail ;)

I had Zees, whilst powerful they were terribly unreliable for me. Really, the set I had was cursed. Got some E4s and very happy, have 10+ year old M4s on my hardtail and they are great too, had them serviced a year or two back by Hope. Whilst the Zees were more powerful (when they worked) and very on/off, you should be able to get the Hopes similar with a good setup.

Fill out the form and send them in, they will do a full service, bleed and new pads.

A friend of mines has Saints on both his bikes, both sets suffer inconsistent bite points at times, with the lever needing to be ‘pumped’ up. But he does like them.

There’s a red route, numerous ‘black’ runs and some cheeky off track stuff around in the nab too. I wouldn’t ride a DH bike on it, though plenty do.
You can park on the laybys on Higher House lane, or nearer to Anglezarke, you could also park at White Coppice.
Other good riding in the area, Darwen tower, Brinscall, Great Hill & Rivington. Quite tricky to explain where but if you need a loop let me know, I’m sure other people can point you in the right direction too.

I own a RC127. Really like it. No problems and received good service/after service when asking questions about stealth routing etc.
Would recommend it. Does all I ask of it and more, happy on an all day ride, off track enduro runs and have even taken it on an uplift day or two.
Gets more nice comments than my full suspension bike, even if it is all black. Simple is best.
Large RC127, black with matte black decals.

Anything else give me a shout.

    Recommend what you own.
You can get QR dropouts for the Pace RC127, they had a black friday thing on yellow frames, might still be running.
Think it fits all the criteria, 27.5 though, I was going to run it with 26″ but ended up getting a set of wheels fairly cheaply.

I bought a Blackburn Central 700 for about £30 a few weeks back. It’s pretty good. It mounts onto a GoPro mount so nice and sturdy.
It won’t do 3hrs on full (700 lumens), maybe 1.5hrs, but I toggle it between medium(400lumens) and high and seem to be fine for 2/3hr rides.
You can also replace the battery by unscrewing the back cover, so potentially carrying an extra battery could be a solution.
Other than that you’re probably going to want an Exposure light.

Awesome will definitely be up for sampling this when it’s up and running.

Similar thing happened to me travelling up to Scotland this year. A lurcher trotting around the road, not a main one mind. Lots of cars just dodged it and continued, managed to get hold of it and took it to the local police station (only one open was 45mins away!) thankfully someone had reported a missing dog which fit so it was reunited. Shame, was a belting little pup!

Puma here. Love it. Picked up some new tyres a month or so back, so much better. Few bits i’d like to do, wire in the spots etc, and still need to properly seal it underneath.

Here we are in the Lake District this summer.

I enjoyed it, a good one on the lead up to the 5th, shame there are only 3 episodes. Torture/execution scenes are, apparently, grounded in fact so it’s not just for the sake of it.
Kit Harington is also a direct descendent of Robert Catesby from his mother’s side so it’s no wonder he has taken such an active role. His father’s ancestor was sat in parliament they plotted to blow up. Keep it in the family ey.

    Great pictures.

I just nipped out locally on Saturday morning, luckily avoided Brian. Did catch up with him walking the dog in the afternoon though..

    I’ve got, what’s left of, a Minion DHRII 2.4 WT 3C DoubleDown (&breathe)
Bought it in April for about £55 and it’s worn really, really badly. Almost like it’s super tacky? The sides crumble and the centre tread is tearing off.
You can have that if you want.. it’s got yellows letters and everything! I’ll do you a good price. ;)

Oh no, I’m not about to go into legal action on this. Just wanted to know where I stand. Was worried I’d be fobbed off with ‘that’s just wear and tear’.
Hopefully get things resolved when Silverfish are up and running.
I’ll have to make do with a fixed post for a few weeks.
You would hope a changeover like this would have been better planned though.

Would do but cannot get through to them! Dropped an email with photos to both Mojo and Silverfish so hopefully that covers me to confirm it’s failing within a week of ownership somewhat.
Bit of a shame, doesn’t give me confidence in the Fox brand. You would have thought there would have been some sort of handover with minimal downtime in between. Would be very disappointed if I had a set of expensive forks/shock needing warranty work.

Edit: Silverfish responded and basically said they can’t discuss anything until 1st November and they are still getting procedures in place for things like this.

Well the transfer dropper I picked up last week has started scoring on the stanchion.
Phoned Mojo, who to be fair were very helpful but, basically said they couldn’t do anything. I should contact Silverfish on the 1st Nov and have it out with them.
It was mentioned that Fox aren’t providing parts at all to Mojo at the moment, so they couldn’t do anything even if they wanted to. I think ‘dire straits’ was a quote..

I’m not sure what to do, do I ride the post and hope it doesn’t get any worse till I can contact Silverfish? Not sure I can manage two weeks on a fixed post!

    It’s a HT though isn’t it…. In my world, FS=Dropper, HT=Nah.

Glad I’m not in your world. Had to ride my own hardtail with a fixed post for a while and it was annoying. Bikes like these are built to have fun on, a dropped post is definitely needed.

Bike looks good. Is 160mm too much for the front of a hardtail considering the angles when it’s squished?

Sorted my Pikes that had the same symptoms by letting all the air out then inflating to maximum pressure.

Same here. Tried zip ties and all sorts of rubbish. Just dropped the air, pumped them right up, bounced them a bit and they’ve been fine since..

Don’t suppose anyone bought a 31.6mm x 150mm post with internal routing in error? I have an externally routed one to trade. Misleading pics and an itchy buying finger. Mine’s the all black one.

Probably be interested in this if you decide to just sell.
    Cheers.

Cheers for that just bought myself a Transfer dropper and lever.
Shame about them, always had good service.
If they sold a dhx2 coil in 216×63 I would be in trouble..

Looking at one of these since my reverb has given up.
Don’t like the look of the 2x lever, is it worth getting the Brand X 1x lever or another? I’ve seen the Raceface one mentioned, also the Bontrager one above.
Will these fit with the external cable ok?

Viking isn’t usually bad in the wet as it’s mostly stone underneath. That rut before the corner has always been deep, even the bank to the left is getting worn now!

lowey, from what i’ve heard the only stage on coniston side is the viking/bomb holes then down to the lake.

So no Supersteep or Supanoodle? The rest of the stages on the opposite side, Rowley wood etc?

I avoid EXO on the rear nowadays. Not tough enough.
I have a DHR II double down, I slashed it on some Lakes slate, but in fairness I think any tyre would have been cut by it. Patched it up and it’s held tubeless. It’s a good tyre.
What I’m not impressed with is the durability. Bought in April, 3C Maxxterra compound. The corner tread is crumbling and the centre tread is peeling away. The bike has been used but I’d expect longer from this tyre, since it cost around £50.
Will probably give WTB a go next. Convict and Vigilante look good.

Sigh.. I was there last weekend. Big day doing both Inners and Golfie side and then another half day at the Golfie. Luckily met up with a few friends of friends who live round that way so got shown around by a local.
Started off with the easier Angry sheep/Green wing etc, before progressing onto Barts trail and then Date Night/Date Night 2.
The Golfie side was great too, Flat White freshly resurfaced ran very well. Can’t remember all the names but did do a track aptly named Waterworld on the opposite side of the hill which was good but tricky in places.
Best trails I’ve ridden in the UK, in fact I haven’t quite got over it. Need to get back sooner rather than later.
Some of the trails are very similar to off-piste Grizedale but longer and there’s just a lot more of them!

Dropped my iPhone 6 in Coniston Water a few months ago. Was working when I pulled it out, switched it off and stuck it on the heater for the drive home.
Tub of rice on the radiator for 24hrs and it’s been fine ever since!

Very impressed with the Bontrager XR4s on my hardtail, got them silly cheap a few months back. I’m tough on tyres and have had no issues tubeless yet. I have put an SE5 on the front as I wanted something a bit chunkier. But both are great tyres.

Did Ard Moors last year and Ard Rock this year. Quite similar in places.
Ard Moors, as expected, not as rocky as Ard Rock, Stage 1 was steep muddy chutes at the start, into open rocky singletrack then into some great corners dug into the heather which ended in some fast woods, saw lots of people come off here had a tricky corner or two thrown in but was great fun.
The last stage was a belter, an old dh track apparently, nicely surfaced it ran very quickly, mellowed out before going into some more brilliant cut in corners.
Can’t really remember too much of the other stages, they weren’t as steep and as someone said above one stage in particular was taped pretty poorly. It was pretty dry last year for the most part but Stage 1 was a bit chewed up.
The transition from 1 back up to the start was a harsh road climb – had to do it twice in the race. There were some pretty decent transitions to be fair.
I would just use whatever tyres you’ve got. Think I had Minion DHF and HR2, all good.
Love to do it again if there’s a ticket going, though I suspect it’s too late now.

Speak to Hope. They have sorted any issues I’ve had without question.
For what it’s worth my 10+ year old M4s are still going strong, just put a set of E4s on my other bike and expect the same. They are built to last.

I have a Pace RC127 and love it. A friend has a P7 and loves that too. Don’t think you can go wrong with any of them really, pick one you like the look of and go give it some stick.
