Ooh, I dunno, didn’t read the instructions.
I think I can see a bit of both colours when it’s on properly.
Had three bikes on it a few times and nothing’s ever fell off etc so it must be on properly.
I just thought it was a confidence checker type thing…?

My little green/red button thing doesn’t seem to pop up to confirm its locked on, which is a little annoying, but it always seems to be very secure, with no sideways movement.
    Would like it “confirming” though.

Here’s my bit, and I’ve bought some sheds in my time.

    1) Have a look at the seats, are they worn on the edges indicating a lot if getting in and out. A good indication if the car has been used on long journeys or lots of short ones.
    2) use reverse gear. Sound daft but I didn’t, ended up having a knackered gear box and wouldn’t stay in reverse(£600)
    3) check under the floor mats. The carpet in mine was ripped and holed all over the place. The dealer had hidden it all with a paper mat. I noticed when I got home,

I hate buying second hand cars

I drive a maxi life daily, the seven seat car/van version, had a few problems with mine, exhaust sensors, gearbox, egr valve etc, all sorted now so fingers crossed.
    still love it though, just!
Bike straight in, seven good sized seats when needed, reasonable fuel economy, sliding doors, huge tail gate, comfortable drive.

Don’t book your tickets or hotel through their website, you’ll pay for the privilege.
We got an adults go free ticket courtesy of Kellogg’s, and stayed at a hotel in Windsor about 15 minutes away.
Still cost us an arm and a leg
    And everyone hates the QBotters
Depends how much your willing to spend I guess
I reckon it will be pretty miserable in the rain.
Been once, won’t be going again, kids enjoyed it though

Hi, getting a reconditioned one with warranty on 0% finance for £70 per month X 20 months
    Can’t go wrong really…
Been on the waiting list for a recon one for a while though, £500 cheaper

After being a long time schwalbe user I recently changed to conti and use a X King on the front for xc racing.
Light years ahead of the schwalbe stuff in lots of ways.
Roll quicker, seat tubeless easier, last longer and run quieter etc etc
Won’t be going back, have continental protection tyres on all my wheels now

Ah yeah that question what’s your strengths….easy…. Relate them to you and the job
    What’s your weakness…. erm…?
I’m not sure I have any weakness (as afar as the job is concerned anyway)… Is that too arrogant?

I’ll be interested in this discussion too as mine is broken too.
Checked with my lbs and they said either will fit or the new one will fit too too, can’t remember what it’s called though?
However they said there’s none in stock with the Sram at the moment so I’m still waiting….

Ish, it looked more like a tool roll if that makes sense, made of sof material rather than plastic bottle shaped

Didn’t maket the event his year but really glad it’s making a comeback.
Happy ?ith either/both distances for next year, but Sunday would be better for me too.
Any problem with making lights compulsory for the 100 miler for those who might finish in the dark?

I’m doing it. Havingjust returned from a 2 week holiday I’m not in the best of shape.
Been out on the bike for first time today in nearly three weeks and it seems like I’ve lost all fitness.
    Hoping for about 7 hours….
Will be riding my Scott Spark 920

Solo’d it last year and managed 5th…
Would have loved to do it again this year and tried for a podium place but having to go on a family holiday…..

    It’s not a massive caravan, 1150kg I think…
Have towed with a 1.6 car before and it was a tad slow especially up hill, but it’s not always about the engine size is it, bhp/ torque come into it too I think.

Looked at a couple today a Sony hx60 and a Panasonic lumix tz 60 I think.
Both under £300 and very similar, anyone use or can recommend either of them?

Loved the event as usual great atmosphere, course etc but did seem a little “cheaper” than previous
    1. No big screen timing
    2. No paper programme of events/guidebook etc
    3. No flushing toilets
    4. Showers only open sat,sun.
Commentators were a little quiet as well
Anyway I’ll be doing it again, but if the price keeps going up the standard should stay the same surely

I’ve just changed to conti x king with a race king on the rear, protection version
Miles better than the schwalbes I used to use. Comes up a bit narrower for a 2.2 but they do a 2.4, can’t reconmend them enough tbh

I don’t give a monkeys about the weather, yeah a dry one would be nice but not a deal breaker
More of a challenge in the rain in it…
£80 for 3 nights camping and a supported 24hr bike race, not too bad…

If you’ve never used one before I would get a smooth one, they’re all pretty much the same. I had a 66fit one I got from Amazon for about a tenner.

Once you get “used” to that I would recommend paying a bit extra and getting a rumble roller, the blue one!
The black version is extra firm and after 2 years I’m still not ready for that yet.
Google Rumbleroller, totally recommended in my professional opinion, pricey but solid!

Depending where you are in the country but Aurther Caygills in Richmond, North Yorks is the place to go.
They drilled it out for me and put a new thread in. Works perfectly and wasn’t expensive.
I guess any frame builders firm could help.

If I was to think about getting one without a test ride what size would I need.
    5ft 8in usually ride a 17 / 18″ mtb?

I use to use the elite ones with a camelbak bottle and although I never lost one it would move out of the cage a couple of centimetres or so every ride…
Bought a toepeak one with an adjustable cage and so far so good…
