Like I say the chain might be just a tad too long, but I didn’t want to cut it too short as I’ve made that mistake before.
It was a half a link or so longer than the old one…

Found same cassette for £83 so may well be better sticking with SRAM then?

I thought it was an X1 one which seem riduclous at £150+ but a replacement one if these is only £80.
Still, more expensive than an xt one and it ain’t lasted

Used to live there, MTB scene is rubbish in the local area, flat, muddy fields is all you’ve got to look forward too I’m afraid
Give North Yorkshire cycles a shout for the road scene.
Ended up driving to dalby more often as it’s only an hour away.
The trails at Sutton bank aren’t great either especially in winter!
May well be moving back there in a year or so, will have to buy a road bike I think!

Yep been before with the caravan, didn’t make it up the hill and needed a tow.
    Slightly embarrassing
think the owner said he wasn’t allowing caravans on site anymore…?
Seem to remember a large site on the opposite side of the road towards Peebles about 200m away…?

Yeah, the pods at Glentress are booked up when I want to go

Thanks, anywhere else that has pods/static caravans to rent?
Failing that we’ll bring our own caravan

    Thanks for the answers.
I think I’m going to go with the 2×11.
I prefer XT to SRAM anyhow
Also it’ll be easier/cheaper to convert to 1×11 if I’m not happy than having to go the other way.

Using MK2 protection for the last few months
Put them on for winter and they’re ok.
I don’t think they particularly excel at anything, but the roll ok, there’re ok in mud, and they seem pretty tough and are lasting well.
Size wise I think there’re about right for a 2.2.
I only bought them cause they were cheap, (about £25 each),TR tyres with a fair bit of grip that would last the winter to save wearing down a set of X kings/Race kings again

Look at Inov8’s, I get mine from sports shoes.com.
They make really good shoes, for
Running, lifting etc, their range is pretty good

Sounds like my XT M8000 brakes at the moment.
Non returning lever then the brake just stays on.
Will be returning for a warranty replacement as it’s only 6 months old too.
    I think it’s only £40 for a new lever but principle etc…

Well…. that was good, I think.
I answered all their questions with full, relevant answers and with a smile on my face and there was no horrible silences

Will find out by Friday if I’ve done well enough to go into the 2nd stage.
However the good news is they are looking for 2 people to fill the roles so I’ve doubled my chances…
Thanks for all the advice guys, just waiting for Friday now. In the grand scheme of things that’s nothing as I first applied for the job in August!!!!!
Oh, and there was no “weakness” questions” nor was the questions on anything else I’d prepared for, typical
I’m gona treat myself to a new bike if I get it too
