advantages here too. cant fault them as a good all round tyre. high volume, fast rolling, good cornering grip and reasonably light weight.
find the 2.1 is enough for most of my riding.

over training, not sure. i only usually do 1 session a day and have a rest day a week. i also look after my nutrition really well and get plenty of rest.
when i say weight training i usually train for endurance so light weight lots of reps so this wont add any bulk really.

maxxis advantage all year round too here. cant really fault them as an all rounder. especially as i ride in such a variety of places with different surfaces. makes sense to just stick with them

no problem at at all exercising now. cramp is also linked to dehydration so make sure you up the fluid intake, take on a little extra salt and warm up thoroughly and you’ll be fine. try some dynamic stretching aswell during your warm up, this will work well.

mines been squeeking for months and shudders accross the windscreen making a right noise. i went to but another one and they only sold them in pairs and they were £40.!!!

    couldnt do it.

so tried to clean it with a little vinegar as advised by a local garage, which didnt really work. still squeeking but cant part with fourty quid for a bit of rubber so im gona put up with it until i come into some money!

any other top tips to sorting out the squeeks?

my big brother used to have a girlfriend that lived about 2 miles downhill from us. he used to give me a backy on the bmx all the way down and make me pedal it back up home while he went out with his bird. one particular “downhill run” we suffered a bit of speed wobble and i panicked, went to put my foot down and ended up landing on on the fastly moving rear tyre. the next thing i remember is severe pain in the ars* area and skidding down the road on my back side. when i finally stopped in a heap on the floor, cut and bruised to bits i looked up to see my bro and all he said was….. im gona be late now, make sure you get the bike back…. Big brothers eh!
To top it off when i finally got home there was nobody in and i had to wait hours for my mum and dad to come home. i just laid in the garden and sobbed
ill remember that day as long as i live

how does the 2.25 size up against an advantage 2.1, they look like they are pretty high volume aswell

it will be the lust version i get so the compound will be 60 i think?

so you think a high roller will be a better front tyre, 2.3?

6 – 6. i see what your saying about going straight out after work in the morning but at the moment all i want to do is hit the sack. i supppose i should look for the positives and be thankful for a week off every fortnight to enjoy my bike time

nice… just found a pair of them for £39 delivered aswell

    jonny-m

    ill have a go…

1.70a – harder wearing, faster rolling, less grip ,60 tpi threads per inch = durability… i think

    2. 62a – softer compound = more grip but faster tread wear, exception = lighter but thinner sidewalls= easily damaged on sharp rocks

3.60a – even more grip but even faster tread wear

    4. UST = tubeless for specific rims = no need for innertube

right thats my ten penneth….. how did i do?

nice reasonable selection of food and drink and you can wash your bike for free too.

only problem is its kinda half way round the loop which is a bit annoying but if your there all day then thats not too bad

hmm im experimenting with tyres at the minute. i currently have a advantage/crossmark combo on at the moment and will be putting the advantage on the back for winter so looking for a good 2.1 – 2.3 front tyre but dont want to add too much weight or volume. was thinking of either the ardent, medusa or ignitor but not sure.

just been out on the demo heckler and loved it… again, yes it felt a little heavy on the climbs but somehow the downs more tham made up for it.

the fact that you dont have to choose a line, you can just point and go makes the whole ride seem faster in the balance of ups and downs

i know the superlight would climb quicker but who ever has fun climbing?

and i think youd have to pick your line wisely with olny 100 mm out back?

steering back towards a light specced heckler again….

which adjusts the positioning/geomotry of the bike aswell i guess.

so best of both worlds almost,

90 mm for going up with min bounce, 120 for the bumpy downs?
