    As above really…
9/10 red route with some off piste stuff presumably to satisfy the locals.
I would prefer it if they didn’t bother as I’d be quite happy riding round the marked trails but then I’m not local.
Fine in the dry but can become quite tricky in the wet with the roots, off camber sections etc.
I’ve fell off once or twice in most of the years I’ve done it solo but always come back for more.
Laps are generally around the 8-9 mile mark (50-55min) i think and always loop back through the start finish area which is nice.
Good value, pretty low key event that I’ve supported for the last 4 or 5 years I think.

It was a large ish cardboard box with a garmin box inside which was empty for me.
My saving grace was the package had been weighed and the weight was displayed on a sticker. The overall packaged weighed less than the watch itself so there was no way there could have been a watch inside to start with.

Exactly same happened to at Christmas, Garmin empty box delivered

To be fair Amazon were great, no questions asked and sent me a replacement straight out.
    Common occurrence it seems

What kind of people do this…..

I’ve just recently bought 2 second hand Z beds

They’re half the price of the above at £50 and are really comfy, sold at Argos
    Have a look…

It’s a pain now so I don’t really use it anymore

Liked the fact you got your money instantly before and it went into a “secret” PayPal accountant then you posted the item.
Now you’re having to post an item before you physically have your money in your bank, doesn’t seem right that.
Ebay earning interest on every payment, possibly…

Great stuff, used to race BMX there in the mid 80s. Glad it’s still going strong 💪

Not sure exactly if I used the bit you mentioned but with a “bit” from an old chain set I had in my toolbox and a longer bolt I have indeed managed to botch it.

Thank you very much for your advice, saved me £50

Try some on, if they fit and they are comfortable go run.

    Simple as that.

    Don’t believe the hype

I am really up for giving it a bash this year.

I’ve put it on my must do list and must make it happen this year.

A long time Time user here and recently moved to shimano.

I think shimano are better in every way.
More positive in engagement, less slop/movement once clipped in and no harder to remove in my opinion.

ESI or Ergon depending on how long you spend in the saddle.
Both have their place and are awesome

Thanks, I did the same on Friday, haven’t had reply as yet and wanted to try and sort this weekend.

Thankyou very much for that, however it’s all far too much for my lack of mechanical skills and patience.

I’m going to try and contact the UK Shimano warranty depeartment failing that will probably buy another lever…again

I’m replacing them cause they’re knackerd. warranty or not, I’ve still got to provide proof of purchase, and go through the process of ordering and waiting and getting them fitted, which all takes time and effort.

not good when they’re less than a year old and my first race is in 6 days time

Surely they can’t be that rubbish…

Not fit for purpose really are they.

I agree I have peyote on the back of both bikes
Super fast rolling but after a few months of usage they are starting to look a little worn.
However they don’t have much tread anyway.

    Highly rate the tyres though.

Switched to Vitoria last year and never looked back.
    So many plus points…

    Grip
    Rolling resistance
    Tubeless easy
    Durability
    Price

Squirt all year round, 2 applications in winter.
Works well for 3 hours of wet riding…
Not bad for a wax type lube.
    No mankyness at all

Properly gutted about this, I look forward to Mayhem every year, and this would have been my 7th solo attempt.

    Hope they sort something….

That’s exactly when I do my FTP test, towards the end of a recovery week….

Surely to get an accurate figure it SHOULD be done during a recovery week.

Your recovered, and therefore the results will be true reflection of your power and not affected by fatigue…

Been a long term Conti/Schwalbe user for years but since trying Vittoria Tyres I won’t go back.
Good tread patterns, high volume, lightweight, smooth rolling, grippy, easy tubeless mounting, cheap…etc etc
    Awesome!

It is the FIT 4 version…
However the forks have been back to Mojo after a couple of months, they said there was nothing wrong with them.

Just so frustrated that something which should be so simple just doesn’t work and not sure how to solve it…

Even with new cables it lasts a week or 2.
It will lock out ok but won’t unlock from the lever.
I either have to reach down and manually pull the cable with my finger and thumb (making a remote lever pointless) or it just won’t unlock at all….
Ive resorted to just leaving it unlocked and putting a bit more air in the forks
    Rubbish

I’m in for the 4th time now I think.
It’s a great event. It can be relaxed or you can go for it if you like.
What usually happens is the xc whippets (like me a bit) race to the top of the hill and then the enduro gang catch up and over take them on the way down, then repeat for 7 hours.
Hopefully the weather will be good, like most of last years event, apart from the obvious storm for the last half hour.
Hoping for another top 10 place next year at least…

    Merino socks/ Woolie Boolie etc
    Socks isn’t the problem

It’s usually about 45 minutes in and my feet have gone, not much feeling left.

2-3 Hour rides are pretty tough this time of year…

I could but is that really Cycling specific enough?
Could it count as “training hours”
I don’t particularly enjoy running either, keeps the weight of though I suppose
