As above really…
9/10 red route with some off piste stuff presumably to satisfy the locals.
I would prefer it if they didn’t bother as I’d be quite happy riding round the marked trails but then I’m not local.
Fine in the dry but can become quite tricky in the wet with the roots, off camber sections etc.
I’ve fell off once or twice in most of the years I’ve done it solo but always come back for more.
Laps are generally around the 8-9 mile mark (50-55min) i think and always loop back through the start finish area which is nice.
Good value, pretty low key event that I’ve supported for the last 4 or 5 years I think.
It was a large ish cardboard box with a garmin box inside which was empty for me.
My saving grace was the package had been weighed and the weight was displayed on a sticker. The overall packaged weighed less than the watch itself so there was no way there could have been a watch inside to start with.
Liked the fact you got your money instantly before and it went into a “secret” PayPal accountant then you posted the item.
Now you’re having to post an item before you physically have your money in your bank, doesn’t seem right that.
Ebay earning interest on every payment, possibly…
Not sure exactly if I used the bit you mentioned but with a “bit” from an old chain set I had in my toolbox and a longer bolt I have indeed managed to botch it.
I’m replacing them cause they’re knackerd. warranty or not, I’ve still got to provide proof of purchase, and go through the process of ordering and waiting and getting them fitted, which all takes time and effort.
not good when they’re less than a year old and my first race is in 6 days time
I agree I have peyote on the back of both bikes
Super fast rolling but after a few months of usage they are starting to look a little worn.
However they don’t have much tread anyway.
Been a long term Conti/Schwalbe user for years but since trying Vittoria Tyres I won’t go back.
Good tread patterns, high volume, lightweight, smooth rolling, grippy, easy tubeless mounting, cheap…etc etc
Awesome!
Even with new cables it lasts a week or 2.
It will lock out ok but won’t unlock from the lever.
I either have to reach down and manually pull the cable with my finger and thumb (making a remote lever pointless) or it just won’t unlock at all….
Ive resorted to just leaving it unlocked and putting a bit more air in the forks
Rubbish
I’m in for the 4th time now I think.
It’s a great event. It can be relaxed or you can go for it if you like.
What usually happens is the xc whippets (like me a bit) race to the top of the hill and then the enduro gang catch up and over take them on the way down, then repeat for 7 hours.
Hopefully the weather will be good, like most of last years event, apart from the obvious storm for the last half hour.
Hoping for another top 10 place next year at least…
I could but is that really Cycling specific enough?
Could it count as “training hours”
I don’t particularly enjoy running either, keeps the weight of though I suppose
